This result was just so frustrating. After the Mexico game, reaching the semis and then the favorites France getting knocked out, this felt like a genuine chance to reach the final and win it. Why did the offense fall apart though? His tactics didn't change. Making like-for-like changes wont change how the team is playing. Taking a defensive player off for an attacking player could also be suicide if they were to continue playing like they were.

They have no confidence. Even before the Mexico game, all their posturing was that of the underdog. They see themselves as knights striving to slay dragons. They see winning as an uphill battle, when they’re easily as good as any of the top 4 teams. You could see it in their faces, scoring the first goal was more than they could hope for.

England were fine until the hydration break in the second half, its not unusal for teams to have a bad spell. Argentina then throw on THREE attacking subs fesh with energy. Tuchel about 3 minutes later takes off Gordon and we never recovered. The Argentine manager outclassed him with those subs right there and that was the moment to bring on the fast black cavalry

For the first few hours, the natural reaction was to blame Tuchel.
But now that the dust has settled, it seems everyone can agree that the English players were the root of the problem.
