The main problem they had is that this time around the ref started throwing yellows unlike in many matches prior, and also didn't award fouls every time Messi flopped, so argentina couldn't play the way they usually do. The reason I say they played well is that most other teams, england, france, belgium, you couldn't see their rage to win as they were losing. Argentina at least, the more the timer advanced, the more they seemed dangerous, and that's with one player less. That's how they won previous match that they could have lost, and I think that's what set apart champions to regular great teams. Unfortunately for them, Spain was tactically very strong.
