Can they win in 2030?
>>
>>157148976
for some reason they refuse to get a good manager, so the answer is no
>>
>>157149049
They had one and they bullied him out of town because he actually had good tactics and didn't want to bring washed old players.
>>
>>157149090
bielsa is not a good NT coach

his methodology only works for long constant leagues, not for players thtat meet to play once every 2 months and each have their different playing systems in from their clubs

his team management is complete ASS and his tactics are not something that you can learn from one day to the other and override what the player is used to

and now for some reason they got Forlan to do whatever shithousery Maradona did in 2010
>>
The rigging has already started. Argentina is already qualified for some dumb reason.
>>
>>157149131
His tactics worked well. Uruguay managed to create more offensive pressure than I have ever seen them do in 20 years. They just have shit finishers now so all the chances they created went flying into the stands. Even with that Uruguay would have probably beaten Saudi and Cape Verde and drew Spain if Muslera was not their goalkeeper. Not starting Rochet was Bielsa's only fault.
>>
>>157149201
they are hosts, we are already qualified too
>>
>>157149201
>Argentina is already qualified for some dumb reason
that dumb reason is that we are hosts

>>157149207
biggest fault, not only fault
the team wanted nothing to do with him since he kicked out Suarez from the NT and had negative charisma and expected to learn complex tactics overnight on a whim

that is not how you manage a NT

he is a decent mid tier club manager
an shit NT manager, he failed with the best Argentina squad of the past 30 years getting knocked out at groups in 2002

he failed hard in chile from 2007 to 2011

and now he failed hard with Uruguay getting grouped in a group with Cabo Verde and Saudi Arabia, in a format that had the top 8 best 3rd places also qualify, and having one of the best midfield in the tournament and leaving home an admittely old (but still in form) Luis Suarez that is arguably the best Uruguayan player from the past 80 years
>>
>>157149264
2010 wasn't a bad WC for Chile
>>
>>157149243
>>157149264
Pretty sure he was just joking.
>>
>>157149319
they got 3 - 0d in Ro16 brother
only scoring 3 goals in 4 matches

>>157149201
>>157149337
you are a fucking schizo, using vpn to seethe at argentina non stop for 2 months now
holy fucking shit, take your meds
>>
>>157149243
>>157149264
That's just three games, it's absurd that Argentina should qualify automatically just for one of those matches.
>>
Argentina has rigged again and they are in the wc 2030 fuck this
>>
>>157149358
>they got 3 - 0d in Ro16 brother
>only scoring 3 goals in 4 matches
yeah? do you know who the fuck Chile is? they were a trophyless nation for 100 fucking years, getting eliminated in ro16 against brazil isn't a bad wc
>>
>>157149358
wtf are you talking about LMAO. I am not on a VPN. Do you think that there’s only one scandi on this board? I don’t have any issues with Argentina whatsoever I find sudas funny.
>>
>>157149426
the good WC for chile was 2014, not 2010
in 2010 they played like shit, struggled in a super easy group and then got raped by Brasil in Ro16 in a humiliating way

in 2014 they got out of a group that had Netherlands (got third place in the WC) and Spain (previous WC winner) and took Brazil to pens in the Ro16
>>
>>157149207
Uruguay needs a manager whose play style fits with the qualities of Uruguayan players and that’s not Bielsa.

Bordalás coaching Uruguay would be crazy good to see.

>>

the Valverder - Bentancur duo already puts them in the top 8 of midfields in the tournament
>>
Why would we want a bunch of dinosaurs to win it all?
>>
>>157149596
crazy innit?
we shilled valverde so much and if he ever even manages to play a WC knockout round it'll be at the age of 32
>>
>>157149649
He plays amazing at Madrid but not for the national team. I can't tell if he is "pecho frio" as you latin americans call it or if the way the national team is set up just doesn't give him an opportunity to shine.
>>
>>157149670
hes just not a playmaker, he relied heavily on modric for the bigbrain moves
in the NT he's the one expected to pull them but he just doesn't have the IQ
>>
>>157149649
if you guys didnt have Bielsa you guys would have been in the final instead of us

you guys would have fielded Rochet, and you guys would have had Luis Suarez as as a power sub for the last 30 mins of each game

you guys would have beaten us in Ro16 and taken our path to lose in the final
>>
>>157148976
2026 was the best chance we ever had, but no one made it a priority. Dinoguay could field a capable team of starters, but had no talent in the bench. Then injuries and inactivity killed the team.

Rochet, Ronald Araujo, Ugarte, De La Cruz, Darwin... we needed them in top form.

>>157149207
this, but mind Rochet went to the WC severly injured, quite possible he'd finally broke down after full 90 minutes

>>157149264
Suarez knees are utter destroyed, it's been like 4 years since the last time he could sprint. Every new highlight from him on MLS is more pitiful than the last
>>
>>157151643
>it's been like 4 years since the last time he could sprint
i don't think he has sprinted since the 2010s, dude, maybe I'm misremembering but I watched many of his 2021 atletico matches and I don't recall a single sprint
>>
>>157148976
They'll win their Hexa before us probably, the Mundialito counts apparently... then again they crumbled to Vozinha.
>>
>>157149450
Nigga that’s not true they played a good game against Spain in that WC and set the foundations of the future chile teams
I hate people who only watch stats

>>157149131
>bielsa is not a good NT coach
I can claim otherwise as I have evidence.
>>
>>157151664
well, that's akwardly true... let me rephrase it, he could still do short runs to the ball (great positioning IQ), with every passing year getting later and later (lads would joke he needed to tap in the nitro to get to the ball)

his CWC "goated" goal was the final nail in the coffin. Hurts to remember, specially the press reaction to it.
>>
>>157149358
>they got 3 - 0d in Ro16 brother
Against Chile's Ro16 curse; which is Brazil. He had no way to win that game at least he took a clear direction for it. Also, IIRC that Brazil wasn't bad

>>157149450
>the good WC for chile was 2014, not 2010
The one where they got eliminated by Brazil at Ro16? You NEED to be more specific

Uruguay is never winning a WC again. You need team depth to win a WC (and a reliable goalkeeper). Not only are we a nation that can barely field a competent starting 11 (subs for uruguay are usually not even a fifth as good as their starting counterparts), but recently our main players are made out of glass and can't seem to reach 4 matches without an injury.
>>
>>157149049
But what about you guys? Will you sign Simeone? Or someone within your local league?

This guy has some of the worst injury issues I've ever seen in. Averages 20 games a season over the last 10 years. I don't know how Atletico keeps him. The only guys I can think of who were able to stay at big clubs with similar amounts of injury time were Robben, Bale, and Kompany.
>>
>>157150172
Suarez is a broken old man. He scores in MLS but watching him play makes me sad. He always had a weird posture and awkward way of running but now he just looks like he's really suffering every minute he's on the field. He did well as a super sub in last Copa America, came on at 90 minutes to score against >us in the third place match, but I don't think he could still do it this year against real competition.
>>
>>157151643
Ah I didn't know Rochet was injured. That explains that.

All the Uruguayans I know were happy that Spain won because it's the country their grandfathers came from and they are ethnically Spanish.
>>
>>157148976
No, and in general is over for southamerican footbal, Argentina time is over and is all downhill from here, Brazil is still getting worse and worse somehow, Uruguay hold no identity and is no longer part of the "big 3", Colombia is supposedly currently at their golden generation and they didn't achieve anything, I just don't see Paraguay and Ecuador actually going anywhere, and let's not even talk about the others. Literally who can save this part of the world?
>>
>>157153079
It's fine because Copa America is still the best tournament in the world
>>
>>157148976
lmao they're up to 5 stars now?
better get a sixth one for uh... for saying they'd win that one WC. They didn't win it but they said they would so that's another star

Without Messi, FIFA won't rig it for them.
Their only chance, really, is to get him out of retirement once again.
But, frankly, they should be banned from all international events indefinitely anyway for all the shit they pulled this time around. Enough is enough.

QRD on the decline of the international performances of Uruguay? They used to win and also dish out pain in the Copa back in the Stone Age.
>>
>>157157636
It's hard to make consistent squads with a population of 3 million people. They got a head start by investing in player development back in the 1920s before the rest of the world and managed to keep fielding Copa America and Copa Lib winning squads into the 90s but then they couldn't really keep up anymore. They had a remarkable generation of players in the 2010s who made the world cup semifinal, beat England, Italy, and Portugal, and wom Copa 2011 but now they're back to struggling for the foreseeable future.

That's not even the worst part. The psychological work in our football is abysmal. Many of our players are completely unable to cope with pressure, criticism, and frustration. I also see severe problems with concentration and focus.
Our players are fragile, both physically and mentally.
>>
>>157157798
>It's hard to make consistent squads with a population of 3 million people.
This is pure cope. Croatia has about the same population as Uruguay, yet they've been far more consistent and successful.
Population isn't an excuse. The truth is that Uruguay has been doing things wrong for years, with absolutely no self-reflection (because it's always someone else's fault or the coach's fault), all while being run by dinosaurs who refuse to leave the last century behind.

We will always be left wondering how would Uruguay had fared up between 2018-2026 if pic related had been in top shape and a starter.

Their only natural number 10 and possibly the only Uruguayan in history to play with his brain.
