From other news, I ordered the new Hako from some retarded store that sells things they don't have. Nearly 3 weeks later, they still didn't send it.
So I had to buy another copy from a real store and that copy is already being packed in Buyee's warehouse. Hopefully I'll be listening to it next week.
And that other store... I hope they don't think they can stand between me and Hako and leave unpunished.

It's funny how media with different kind of interests and intentions hype up the Chinese taking over Snooker.

It took 20 years to see 2 Chinese World Champs, and thanks to Chatgpt, you can immediately get stats you want.

Tournament winners:

>UK winners: about 72%
>Chinese winners: about 14%
>Rest of the world: about 14%

Pathetic
>>
>>157154835
To say the Chinese are "taking over" is an exaggeration but they are gaining momentum as time passes and compared to say a decade ago. I doubt we'll be waiting another 10-20 years for another champion.
>>
>>157154942
pic is from three months ago, but still
>>
>>157154835
>>157155169
Only Xintong, Wu and Chang have the potential to be 10+ title winners imo the rest are at best top 16 fodder for when the older boys retire
>>
>>157154942
Momentum comes and goes.

There was a time when people were waiting for Ding to become World Champion, and then there were quite a lot of other top 16 CN players (that are now banned due to betting related manipulation).

And checking the rankins, there is only 2 top 10 player. And it will stay the same desu in the foreseeable future.
>>
Back to back centuries from Lelby. Nice. Good comeback as well given he looked really rough in the first few frames.
>>
>>157154942
>>157155286
It depends on how fast the Chinese players can replace the British ones at least, and they'll just end up outnumbering them at some point. Snooker is still popular here but I doubt we can keep supplying top quality players for decades to come.

>>
>>157155301
Yeah, the "problem" is we're not producing enough not necessarily China producing too many. Arguably, China producing a lot of players going forward means there will still be some quality snooker to watch in the decades to come or we'd be stuck waiting for Pullen etc. to get good..

>And has he even be at home in Dubai ever since the three day SMO began?
I think it's been such a long time since there was a legit /147/ that I haven't blogposted about my new job to you yet. It's quite possibly the worst job I have ever had in my life. I thought it was just going to be an IT job that possibly doesn't pay me enough to live on, but it's not even that. I do customer service for smart meters now. And all my colleagues are recent immigrants. I don't want to go all /pol/ because they're lovely people and there's nothing wrong with one or two Nigerians with impenetrable accents and woman in hijabs, but it's like working in a taxi office.

Anyway, one of my best work friends from my new job moved here from Dubai. She said she moved because she's Sudanese and was fleeing the war in Sudan, which would make her an actual refugee, but she somehow managed to come here even though she didn't live in Sudan and lived in Dubai instead. So people are definitely leaving Dubai. That was my point.

I was about to make a post asking what nickname Kyren should have but felt like something wasn't right, so I went to wikipedia and was reminded that he actually had a nickname. But I found pic related funny.
Instead I'll ask: what nickname should Barry Hawkins have then? I think The Bark would fit nicely. Bar - like Barry, and "bark" like what a dog does, because Barry looks like an ugly-cute little dog, a pug or something similar.

I would have thought she wasn’t allowed to do that, due to WST contract shenanigans. Certainly nobody is allowed to see her boyfriend, and there was even speculation that she was a lesbian just because that would make more money from the simps. Her marriage might mean she doesn’t get to referee as many top matches now. Let’s see if she disappears as a punishment for making herself less marketable.

There's a saying I once heard: if you're good at something, do it. If you're not, teach it to others.
It actually works pretty well. If you were good at snooker, would you become a player or a coach?

tennis has tons of tournaments on all levels every week, snooker needs to get there too.
>>

It doesn’t feel right to watch snooker now for some reason. These are the months when meme sports should be watched. More memey than snooker. This is the time of year for sport climbing and hurling and racewalking and wheelchair basketball. Maybe I’m just a fairweather fan of snooker, though, or the opposite if I only watch it when the weather is not fair.
