>Infantino, the president of Fifa, is reportedly considering selling stakes in the World Cup to private investors in what has been labelled by insiders as a “nuclear bomb” for football.

>According to a report in the Financial Times, Fifa is planning to sell stakes in a new company that will control the World Cup. It is understood that preliminary agreements over the terms have been signed for a deal that could be worth about £15bn.

>It is said that the Donald Trump administration has been consulted over the plan and bank JP Morgan is handling the process. Infantino could become the commissioner of the new entity upon the end of his presidency at Fifa in 2031. He would expect to bank millions of pounds in such a role.

>Senior figures at Fifa are understood to have discussed the deal, which would include stakes for 211 member associations. Fifa would hold a majority stake and then private investors would be able to invest in minority shares that would run into the billions.

>The proposals have been met with resistance from key figures in football, who are concerned at how the global calendar would be affected. While there is no binding agreement for the plans, it could mean an expanded World Cup or the tournament being held more regularly than every four years. One figure told The Times that it would be a “nuclear bomb” for the game.

>The move comes amid growing pressure on Infantino following a remarkable rant in which he defended the World Cup and his position as the head of world football.
Holy shit.

The FIFA president is elected by the member football associations/federations. Each one gets an equal vote despite of size, so one island nation in the Pacific without enough land for a single football pitch has as much voting power as a country like Brazil.

Then, the FIFA president decides how much money each association/federation gets.

That's why FIFA is so corrupt. The small and poor countries are essentially voting for free gibs.

Why do retards support capitalism and reject every alternative and then complain about capitalists doing capitalism? Even king commie Marx saw capitalism as the biggest destroyer of tradition, it’s weird, you have people who claim to be conservatives who love tradition while simultaneously supporting the biggest destroyer of tradition in human history,

“The bourgeoisie, wherever it has got the upper hand, has put an end to all feudal, patriarchal, idyllic relations. It has pitilessly torn asunder the motley feudal ties that bound man to his 'natural superiors,' and has left remaining no other nexus between man and man than naked self-interest, callous 'cash payment.' It has drowned the most heavenly ecstasies of religious fervour, of chivalrous enthusiasm, of philistine sentimentalism, in the icy water of egotistical calculation. It has resolved personal worth into exchange value, and in place of the numberless indefeasible chartered freedoms, has set up that single, unconscionable freedom — Free Trade. In one word, for exploitation, veiled by religious and political illusions, it has substituted naked, shameless, direct, brutal exploitation."

Globalism is a direct product of capitalism because corporations abandon borders and want to increase their profit by exploiting new markets. Thus dominating the culture of every country and created a global mono-culture.

It's also why immigration increased so much, as it was profitable to bring in browns who would work longer hours for less money
>>
>>157165412
Because socialism makes countries poor and nobody wants to go there, their cohesion comes from that, they become a shithole that will eventually get isolated. In 30 years nobody will want to migrate to the US because it will be a warzone.

UEFA probably could fuck FIFA, its just a case of whether they want to. What is stopping UEFA creating an intercontinental tournament (or any governing body for that matter). Both are capitalist creations, globalism exists because borders, isolation and unique cultures get in the way of increasing profits, hiring cheap labour and selling slop to billions of consumers, DEI was brought in at capitalist corporations after occupy wall street and the “99% vs the 1%” they instantly flipped the script from money to race and gender and positioned themselves as the progressive good guys, anyway DEI has been dumped since trumps second term, that’s over, it was celebrated by conservatives as a big victory until they realised the new capitalist meritocracy has decided that cheap poos and chinks are the best men for the job, not native white guys kek, of course though this is all really the fault of “muh commies”

now which governments did that the most? the ones leaning to the left. they of course love money as well, the hypocrite fucks, but they don't give a shit if they have to import foreigners and ruin the country in the long term. the issue is not capitalism itself, but not having it the smart way, preventing your nation from destroying itself. chinks are better at this than westerners

The football pyramid is actually the prime example of why the USA represent faux capitalism.
The franchises are owned by billionaires, but there is no free movement between tiers and no risk of failure.
Compare it to the English football pyramid where your local Sunday league club could on merit make it all the way to the Premier League.
That is what capitalism is supposed to be like.

Why wouldn’t they support open borders? The modern western “socialist”’isn’t driven by an opposition to capitalism anymore, they are driven by an opposition to white supremacy, racism, sexism and homo/transphobia, open borders serve them aswell, when someone tells you they are a socialist today your reaction isn’t “they are for the average worker and want to dismantle the current economic system” like it was historically your reaction is “they are a degenerate who is pro tranny, pro mass immigration, pro homo who hate the average white man” Anyway the key strength of capitalism is it is beyond left and right, it uses both sides when necessary,’capitalists funded the fascists in Europe post Russian revolution to beat down the communist threat,’the fascists eventually got too powerful so they teamed up with the Soviet Union to destroy them, when that was done they went straight over to trying to destroy the Soviet Union, it’s the same today, during the woke era American Eagle was running work ads with fat black women, post oct 7th and MAGAs second term they are running ads with blonde haired, blue eyed Sydney Sweeney about her “great genes”

Allowing one vote per 'MA' would always lead to the poorer ones being bought off by Jews. IFAB members should have had the power of veto, so utterly retarded ideas like these never see the light of day.

Now, nothing short of a sustained UEFA and Conmebol unity and pressure against this project to sell the WC to Jews will stop it. Curacao's FA like others isn't saying no to $20m, of which $19m will go to the exec committee making the decision.

UEFA should invite 8 teams to participate in the Euros, including at least 4 from CONMEBOL, making it 32 teams.
CONMEBOL usually don’t invite anyone from UEFA for the Copa America but maybe they should invite the current UEFA champions and the WC holders (if they’re also UEFA).
Do this and the fans will vote with their feet, do you want to watch a bloated tournament with too many matches and held almost exclusively in non-traditional
footballing countries, or do you want pure kino of the best of the best battling it out where every single match is a must watch and the atmosphere is pure.

>has a lot of subjective calls
it used to be even more subjective before VAR, and it was genuinely better. we just needed good referees, the human error was part of the game. now we have this thing that holds the truth and nobody can question because le technology chip says so.
>>
>>157166309
>now we have this thing that holds the truth and nobody can question because le technology chip says so
It isn't even some supertech. All it does is take the subjective decisions normally handled by the ref and outsource them to a bunch of fags in a conclave.

>an enormous investment
Plenty of third world nations (considerably poorer than China btw) are doing fine in football with very moderate investments. You don’t need to spend hundreds of billions to obtain 100 or 200 very good football players.

The real reason why China doesn’t invest in football is because it’s a tool of soft power for Europe, and very marginally for a few South American nations, so China will never control the narrative nor the flow of the money (buying TV rights, merch, tickets, or even foreign stars for their local clubs would just fill the pockets of European people in the end). Plus the risk of getting rekt remains very high as China would compete against 20 separate nations who have a huge head start.

Basically China is too weakmind to try.

If they sell a stake to fucking Kushner (and then probably later stakes to Arabs) counties and even confederations need to pull out of not just the World Cup but perhaps FIFA as a whole
If
>>

>probably later stakes to Arabs
No. Almost everything will go to the Arabs, who will give bribes to the Trump family in the process. Kushner is just the lead investor, i.e. the token American Jew who’s been requested by the Arabs to make sure everything goes smoothly. Anyone who thinks the Jews will buy the World Cup is a sub 90 IQ /pol/tard (American Jews know nothing about soccer, Israeli Jews have other problems).

If the goal were to sell to rich Americans, Kushner would not be the correct guy for the job.

Actually there is an owner of football, the English working class.
>>
>>157166811
actually, the 4 Home Nations still hold 50% of IFAB, who make the rules for football and are probably a legal an owner of the game as you'll get. Unfortunately they gave FIFA the other 50% but they can still block ANY rule changes etc. Someone also wants to be asking the FA why they have sent in a letter of support to re-elect the bald weasel fifa president in March '28.

>>
call me naive but I still have hope that when push comes to shove, the associations will stop this or simply leave FIFA
it doesn't take much. UEFA is already itching to ditch FIFA, if you get a handful of SA associations to leave with them FIFA is basically dead. nobody's turning into the world cup to see canada vs sri lanka

putting a stop to all this just seems very, very feasable.
>>
>>157165063
Good, we need the World Cup every year.

We also need to balance it with regional tournaments, as thoae two generate profit. So we have domestic leagues, followed by regional tournaments, followed by the world cup, every year. Expand the number of players, expans the stake holder rights.

Im glad Trump is involved, he understands money and is a good businessman, and he speaks plainly and directly, Honest Trump. Also JP Morgan being involved is good, they would ensure there is no corruption or collusion.

The profits would go straight to those at the top, which is good for the sport. Ultimately football fans deserve this for voting for Trump.

>>
>>157167076
Yeah but that’s also a dramatic step, money talks, and a lot of the impoverished world doesn’t really give a shit as long as the FIFA cash keeps following. It would also have a massive impact on the lower tiers of football across Europe, and in the talent developmental ecosystem. The money flows from FiFA.
You are right though that South America and Europe together have the potential power to strangle FIFA by not participating, but it’s a play that also hurts them a lot.
Until the entire election system is changed, which essentially rewards corruption then the enshittification of football will continue.
>>157166977
You weren’t paying attention to that story, everyone besides the initial clubs, and owners killed that project including FIFA.

Actually the World Cup needs to become a World League, with one NT game every week, and several tiers for promotion and relegation. Then add a World Champions League for NTs, plus the regular club schedule on top. Football every single day! I hope Honest Trump and Canny Gianni will read this message and act in the game’s best interests…
>>

>>

I think small, you think big. A World League, with players constantly moving around national teams. Brazil can buy Mbappe for half a billion and in return France lowers taxes on Brazillian imports.

This is the future of football. The fans voted for it
>>
>>157166918
The hydration breaks and the extended halftime show were both in clear violation of the rules. I think it’s a waste of time appealing to FIFA about this, they’re just ignoring it. EUV lithography machines make the most advanced computer chips in the world, just one of those machines is worth $400 million dollars, they're worth literally more than the airplanes that ship them to customers.

Years ago America has pressured the main manufacturer of EUV lithography machines, the Dutch company ASML, to stop selling their machines to China, China in turn ramped up research into their own machines DUV lithography machines, which are less advanced than EUV machines, but they're a step in that direction. America can't manufscture any of their own EUV or DUV machines.

Because the alternatives have historically been a lot worse. I lean more towards distributism myself, but it's never been tried at scale and probably never will be in our lifetimes. Unfortunately this is the system we're stuck with.

Okay, but step out of fantasy land and look at the actual product that exists, which just shuffles through which teams get to be irrelevant fodder for the Manchester Uniteds and Liverpools and Arsenals who are too rich and powerful to ever be relegated even in their worst years. Pro/rel is the most overrated aspect of sports. Maybe it made sense in 1886, but in 2026, it's a purely ceremonial gimmick meant to distract people like you from how the top domestic leagues are just a few Arab sheiks and Russian oligarchs playing fantasy soccer with their billions. Your sport is a corrupt joke from top to bottom where 99% of the teams are shut out of ever competing for anything meaningful.

Very interesting, thank you. Once NTs and governments finally merge to simplify the whole thing, we could then list entire governments-NTs on the New York Stock Exchange, with Trump’s Board of Peace acting as a regulatory mechanism, 25% of all profits going to FIFA, and 75% to private investors.

Then FIFA would just have to launch a blockchain-based crypto token that tracks the value of these governments-NT stocks, while simultaneously using this very token to create a crypto-backed preferred FIFA stock that would yield 40% per year forever through overcollateralization. The money of new investors would be used to pay the dividend to current investors, while also funding an ambitious football league on the planet Mars through a joint venture with SpaceX.

The future is bright for noble hearts, bros…
