1) our federation are cheapskates who refuse to actually pay for good managers
2) Belgians in general are very easily duped by any respectable looking authority figure

2016 euros were wasted by marc wilmots, a bigger fraud than martinez and tedesco combined.
Martinez had belgium for the 2018 wc, the 2020 euros (in 2021) and the 2022 world cup.
2018 was peak belgium, topped our group with 9 points (beating england), then having a great comeback against japan and a win against brazil, only to be beat 1-0 by peak france is the semis. Played england in the humiliation game to take 3rd place, our best ever result. Can't really blame martinez here.
2020 euros we again topped our group (with denmark and russia), beating portugal and losing by 1 goal to italy in the quarters, who would again go on to win the entire thing.
2022 was the worst, didn't even make it past the group stage, although one that contained both morocco and croatia, both semi-finalists. This was the one where you could fully blame martinez for doing what he always does and sticking to washed players instead of trying new shit. Just complete ass of a tournament. We're lucky the "best third" thing didn't exist back then, with 4 points we would've gone through only to get humiliated further.
Speaking of, tedesco in the 2024 euros. Holy shit what a fraud, losing to slovakia (all due respect) and playing for a goalless draw against ukraine just for fear of not losing. Then faced france and got rightfully sent home. To think we had high hopes for this guy, only because he won against the germans in his first game. Little did we know that was just because germany was (somehow) even more shit.
I think garcia actually did pretty well for us this world cup, sad to see him go. Tough group stage but still ended up on top, made the right decisions against senegal to see us scrape out a win, and smartly benched underperforming stars against the US to trounce them. Lost deservingly against spain, but I feel like we put up more of a fight than most. Scored the only goal of the tournament against them, I think?
