European NFL fans, which team do you support and why?

>>
Packers, it felt the most like a genuine sports club that became a professional team
>>
>>157187840
The one with Tayquavius Sneed
>>
I don't really have a team, I just follow a few which I think are interesting at the start of the season due to various reasons.
I do care a lot more about legacy teams in the east over the southern/western ones. Like the Giants, Steelers and Washington.

When I began watching there was this guy Heineken on the newly named Washington team, I followed them for the first season for example.
>>
I am planning to watch my first season, it will be packers because
>not a jewish billionaire owner
>real grass at the stadium
>good looking colors on kits/helmets
>not from florida or california or any other sunny state
>>
I forgot the name its been too long but its the one with the black Quarterback
>>
>>157187840
(Former nfl fan from over 10 years ago)
I initially like the Atlanta Falcons because they seemed like a decent side with a baller logo. I also like the Minnesota Vikings, because Vikings, but also because they had GOAT kicker Morten Andersen aka the Great Dane. None of those teams made it far, so I supported everyone who played against the patriots at the Super Bowl.

I strongly suggest watching RedZone instead on sunday afternoon. It's a really good format and if you're not invested in the game and the team a single game can be unbearable.
For me RedZone + NFL Youtube channel is a decent way to consoom the NFL

There’s never a dull moment for Chiefschads.
>>
My biggest gripe with the NFL is how outdated the refereeing is. It's the #1 game in America with all it's sports technology and technology in general yet they keep making terrible calls which cannot be challenged.
It has to be by design at this point.
>>
>>157187979
Fair but you will never wanna visit green bay
>>
>>157188130
This annoys me too, there’s literally holding on every single play but they choose when to penalise it
>>
>>157188061
Redzone + Your team is the way to consume.
>>
>>157188130
>It has to be by design at this point.
Of course it is, man. They play off the emotions of groups of drunk friends huddled around their TV, that’s more important to them than making the sport fair and unbiased. You have to watch it like you’re watching a WWE match, except it’s a sport that’s appropriate to talk with your friends and coworkers about.
>>
>>157187840
>inb4 flag
Chargers
I was a fan of them since their SD days with Philip Rivers and LT; I also have family in Southern California (who are Raiders and 49ers fans but I digress). I lost interest once the team left San Diego but I've come around to them again to an extent. I'm mostly just a Padres fan these days though as far as US sports go.
>>
>>157187840
Alabama Niggers
>>
>>157188130
> terrible calls which cannot be challenged.
??? They literally can. Coaches have a challenge and the League office sometimes steps in too
>>
Another really funny thing is NFL's autistic denial of concussions.
Like you see some guy getting his head pulverized and he's flopping around on the floor then the commentators just pretend like they don't see it. It's completely North-Korea tier.

>Oh yeah that guy just landed on his shoulder that's gotta hurt. But what about that pass by Mahomes?
Meanwhile you're looking at a guy laying brain dead on the floor having muscle spasms.
>>
>>157188251
they get paid millions and know the risks. We just dont care too much
>>
>>157188208
Fair, south cal is probs similar to aussieland
>>
>>157188251
America is a hyper-capitalistic shithole, the most popular sport in America is one in which players get their brains destroyed and it's ignored because it's used as a circus for corporations to advertise.
>>
>>157188130
>It has to be by design at this point.
It is.
>>157188169
>there’s literally holding on every single play but they choose when to penalise it
You don't know what Holding is. It's OK, neither do most Americlaps
>>
>>157188251
>>157188327
They can always quit
>>
>>157187860
There are many including in your country. International games are always sold out
>>
>>157188061
>>157187979
Don’t watch redzone if your team is playing, watch your team. The pace of the full game is slower which gives you more time to study the players and figure out the strategies, redzone is best if you play fantasy too but you shouldn’t play fantasy it ruins the whole experience
>>
>>157187840
Chicago bulls
>>
>>157188251
Getting hit in the head for a living is why they are paid tens of millions of dollars. They know the risk by now and they knowingly sign up to become human punching bags

Saints, just loved watching Drew Brees play
He's left but since I went with them I'm going to suck it up and deal with the bad times since it was constantly brought up how bad they've been historically anyway
Have faith in Tyler Shough and Fhough bringing back the good times
>But le French
Don't care, consider me Nnorman
>>
>>157188547
>Saints, just loved watching Drew Brees play
Def was fun to watch, he was 3rd best qb in the league for so long. Hes basically nfl neymar.

>>
>>157188428
Go on then, what is holding and how does it differ from the interpretation you think I have
>>
>>157187979
You might want to check out some old Favre and Rodgers highlights. Prime Rodgers had the beast arm ever.
>>
>>157188306
Climate-wise, yes, it is quite similar
>>
>>157188634
Most people think any amount of grabbing the jersey is holding and it's not. You have to "material restrict movement" which basically means you can't jerk them one way or the other using the leverage you gain holding on to the jersey. But grabbing the jersey, especially inside the frame, is legal and called "holding" all the time by people who don't know ball.
>>
>>157187840
Patriots, my dad was a soldier in Afghanistan as part of the ISAF, he brought back a whole box of PC games that an american soldier gifted him, including Madden 08

Brady was 99 rated so I've liked them ever since

nfl might be a multi gorillion dollar franchise, but some of those teams websites look like from 2007
>>
but anyway, when I check the roster on the green bay packers website, why are there NINETY active players listed??
>>
>>157191968
they sign a shit ton of players in the offseason, usually just as practice guys. they have to reduce to 53 next month
>>
>>157191825
I’m so sorry anon. Hopefully old faggot Jerry croaks so the team can have some hope for an Owl appearance
>>
>>157191968
Because they probably are lol. If you think that’s bad you should see the kind of tech they have the US military using
>>
>>157194572
That’s an interesting contradiction given the fact that you have the most advanced military on the planet.
>>
>>157187921
You are correct.
>>
>>157194616
The U.S. military is so huge and complicated that it takes a truly Herculean effort just to simply keep it all running. I’m not surprised that their database systems look like they are from the early 2000’s, I think a few are still on Windows XP.
>>
>>157191789
If Stroud wasn't a complete fuckup when it mattered you might have been singing a different tune
>>
>>157189824
Brady was 99-rated IRL too, except when he had to go against Eli in the superb owl.
>>
>>157189843
I worry for my Steelers playing in France against New Orleans this year with the French heritage of New Orleans.
>>
>>157187840
I can't name a single NFL team or player
You might as well be asking me what my favourite Nigerian volleyball team is
>>
>>157187860
There are a few in our general. There's a British anon who's a Saints fan just like me. There's also a Russian guy who actually knows the sport well and gives insight on incoming prospects.
>>
>>157191968
It's the offseason. The official roster gets cut down to 53 players before the season officially starts.
>>
>>157195421
Eli just had that clutch gene that allows them to magically win in the final minutes of the game. He was mid otherwise

I moved to Seattle from Germany so there's my reasoning. Although it was intentional because I had always liked the Seahawks since following NFL in 2006
>>
Been Steelers supporter since 2004. I remember I got Madden 05 from a friend. I was browsing the players/teams when Pittsburgh came up. I really liked the colors and the QBs name (some rookie named Roethlisberger). Lucky for me, the rookie lit up the league and ended up winning the owl next season... God how I miss Big Rape and players from this era (Polamalu, Ward, Bettis, Porter, Debo...)

The Arizona Cardinals because I needed a team and didnt want to be called a bandwagoner. I wish I picked the Jags because I like them more but I am NOT a plastic.
Go berds.
>>
There's a few teams I like
>Packers
Because their structure and history is the most like a european club, also they play outdoors and on real grass in an autumn and winter league
>Saints
Because longue vie au roi, longue vie aux Bourbons, longue vie à Sneed (anciennement Shough)
>Cardinals
I like birds :D especially when it's not a cliché eagle or falcon that you'd associate with heraldry and such (same reason I like the Blue Jays and the other Cardinals)
>Broncos
Because at the beginning of last season, I went to a /nfl/ thread, asked what team I should root for and why and someone invited me to support the Broncos and that was very nice :D
>>
Miami Dolphins
I liked the jerseys, Dan Marino was cool, and I thought it was kino that their star was someone with a marine-themed surname

I bandwagonned the Broncos during the Elway and Davis years but went back to the Dolphins because I didn't want to be a glory-hunter.

>>157196321
Aren't there like 20 ad breaks? How can you watch that?
>>
>>157196494
Redzone is your friend, it jumps from game to game during the ad breaks.
If you try to watch just one game then yes, almost every time they reposition between plays, you get an advert. It's pretty bad in baseball too especially since (as far as I know) there is no "MLB Redzone" the way there is with the NFL because sundays have a lot of football games at once while basebal games are on different days and different timezones and much more spread out during the day so they don't overlap as much.
