Hello, hello, /sp/, guess what's back today! That's right, it is the professional football 2026/27 season of your favourite country in the world, whose league I invite you to and know you will watch! And it kicks off with the Super Cup, one of the few Super Cup competions that is still played in the teams' country, at the start of the season, between just the previous champion and the previous cup winner. It will be thus played between FC Porto, who won the league last season, and 2nd tier Torreense, who famously won the last cup final against Sporting, fucking over Benfica (who now has to play many matches to reach the Europa League), Braga (who will now only play in the Conference league, if it qualifies) and Famalicao (who will stay home) in the process as well. Reminder you will be able to watch Torreense play in Europa League against your Sunderlands, your Leverkusens, your Real Sociedads, even though they failed to go up to the first tier last season. In fact, it is possible they will be the only Portuguese team in Europa League this season.
