I climbed Longs Peak, a merely 14,000 mountain in Colorado, and it nearly killed me from exhaustion. By far the most physically demanding thing I've ever done, and I have ran a marathon before and rode a bike across two states. Also physically destructive to my joints. I was just completely mentally shook by the experience and how unprepared I was. I just can't even imagine the mental strength you need to conquer a truly big himalayan mountain.
