>>157222004Pete would be in it now if not for his massive ego. He was given a chance to do a small penance after getting caught, and everything would be smoothed over. His ego wouldn't allow that, so the MLB steamrolled him. Later in his life if he'd just have apologized and admitted fault it's likely the league would have forgiven him and made amends but again, he couldn't bring himself to do it. Not going to deny his stats on the field but he had more than one opportunity to right his wrongs and passed on them; he doesn't deserve to be in the HoF.
