the girl that won the sporza velogames for the tour de france femmes avec zwift sounds like an absolute cyclismo addict>"I am a real sports fanatic. I cycle myself and also play hockey. At home, I have a mountain bike and a regular road bike that I spend a lot of time on. And when cycling is on TV, it is always on," says the 22-year-old student.>"I looked closely at the start list and the stage profiles. Because of that, I also quickly realized that the general classification contenders could make their move early. I think ProCyclingStats even started freezing, because I was checking the site too often!">"It wasn't until after stage 4 that I made it into the top 10. On the penultimate day I was second, and only on the final day was I able to finish first. So it was incredibly exciting at the end! In my opinion, it looked pretty good. Based on the lineups, I thought I would still catch the leader. But there were also a few very close behind me , so it was definitely a nail-biter during that final stage.>I had a staff party at my student job, right on the day of the final stage. So I had to look at my phone during dinner, not ideal! I was already at that party before the start and was still hesitating about a final transfer, but that didn't happen. I really kept a close eye on some riders. When Holmgren, for example, had a better moment, I really shouted: 'Yes!'">"Of course, those points aren't posted immediately. During one of our activities, they suddenly appeared online, and I showed it to everyone right away. Still, it was a nice moment to be the best of 18,000 participants!"

wonder what he does these days. AI had no answers>The phrasing in your question comes almost directly from contemporary reactions in the peloton after Mark Padun’s two stage wins at the 2021 Critérium du Dauphiné.>On stage 7 (finish at La Plagne), Padun—who had been more than 30 minutes down on GC—followed an attack by Richie Porte, then dropped Sepp Kuss and soloed to the win ahead of the GC favorites. The next day (stage 8 to Les Gets), he went in the break, attacked on the Col de Joux Plane, and won solo again, beating Jonas Vingegaard and others while also taking the mountains jersey. These were his first WorldTour wins and came after a relatively modest career to that point.>The back-to-back dominant mountain performances created what French media called a “malaise.” An anonymous French team staffer told Le Parisien essentially what you referenced: roughly, “Fine if the guy pulls a hold-up at La Plagne, why not. But he doesn’t have the decency to hide a bit the next day. There’s a feeling of impunity that recalls the dirty years of the 2000s.” Another anonymous director called it “an absolute shame” and “gross,” complaining about how hard it made it to sell sponsors on a clean sport.

How mcuh of a difference is there between a 1500€ bike and a 3-4000€ bike? is it worth the extra cash if u dont wanna cycle professionaly?I was thinking of upgrading but im not sure if i gonna notice any differences at all.

>>157330452I think it's worth it I started off on an alu rimbrake bike, 23mm tires, cheap wheels, shimano 105 mechanical set -- i think about 1200 euro that cost me back in the day. it was mailny my commuter, i did about 24000km on it. i did swap out the wheelset with an eqvuialent because felt had some proprietary hub my bike mechanic couldn't work on itThen a few years later I got a canyon ultimate cf disc 8.0, so a carbon frame, ultegra mechanical set, better wheels, better brakes, better ride feel altogether (it just "feels" like a better frame but that's not something empirically provable), and even on my first ride I kind of regretted all those years of not upgrading. this bike cost me €2800 a year or two later i also got carbon deep section wheels (€1000) and a powermeter (€400) so i guess in total my bike would be valued at about €4000+ now for this spec level. i think it's a noticeable level, a worthy purchase for an enthusiast, but like i feel like i'm at a limit for my type of riding. i have a fast bike, it shifts good, it fits me well; i don't have a need to upgrade further than this even though like dura-ace is even more impressive or i could have a lighter frame or whatever, i feel like as long as i have this bike i don't need another one you can always go do a test ride of the various specs to sort of get a feel of what a spec level is worth. the "law of diminishing returns" is very applicable, i think in current bike prices €4000 is about the point where the curve starts tailing off
