>>157328553RBL fans are not Ossis, they are all urban yuppies who moved to Leipzig in the 2000s and eventually bandwagoned a "successful" club because their cosmopolitan lack of roots didn't prevent them from having principles or other loyaltiesAnd they are not racist in the slightest, they are the cleanest corporate kindRostock, Chemnitz, Magdeburg, Erfurt - these are Ossi clubs. These are quite racist. And guess what? They all hate RB Leipzig
>>157328637>>157328637>Rostock, Chemnitz, Magdeburg, Erfurt - these are Ossi clubs. These are quite racist.I thought socialism was against racism.
>>157320812What about San Lorenzo?
>>157328655>I thought socialism was against racism.Eastern Blocs anti-racism was about anti-imperialism and international solidarity and all that crap. Not letting in millions of foreign guest workers into their countries like the based Western Christian Democratic (woah so trad) Netherlands, Germany, Belgium did. Funny how they imported non-whites while socialist Sweden when Olof Palme was prime minister only imported Greeks, italians and yugoslavians. It took a centre-right pro-EU government for us to start importing browns and blacks. Woah based Western Civilisation...The DDR was based, don't let any hohol Azovite say otherwise.
>>157320812i guess
>>157328655Ossis always were racist. They manage to do both, but it has gotten more intense since the Wende since they eventually noticed what's happening in the west. Our only right-wing party that deserves that name is at 40% in every former GDR stateThey are in a strange equilibrium. They dislike the GDR for its repressive system, for the Stasi, for the poverty (compared to the FRG). But they love the familiarity back then, the identity, the feeling, perhaps also the aesthetic. And they will defend that, especially against Wessis
>>157328655That’s capitalism, gets in the way of making money
>>157328727Socialism is explicitly against racism because it hampers international worker cooperation.>>157328712>>157328699Weren't there thousands of Vietnamese living and working in East Germany in the 1980's?
>>157328745Yes. And many of them stayed quite secluded. But people usually accepted them because the system demanded so and because the Vietnamese showed they worked hardYou seem to have a needlessly binary world view where you're either super duper woke or someone who regularly chases any possible foreigner with a baseball bat - under all circumstancesThe GDR wasn't a multicultural socialism lovefest. It was old-school left ideology and the concept of global brotherhood under the red flag could only bridge the gap so far. Ossis always had a strong idea of what their society should look like. But they only turned into true chuds in the 90s and especially after 2015 when they saw what western civilization is all about nowadays
>>157328778Do East Germans think they were too eager to reunite with West Germany, and that such a reunification should have been more gradual and done on equal terms between East and West Germany? I read that much of East Germany's industry was bought up by West Germans, and many East German professionals were demoted in their career paths due to their old East German companies going out of business and having to work lower paying jobs.
>>157328745There were, yes. I think most of them returned home and IIRC according to German anons some kind of segregation was put in place. Idk.There were also Angolans and Mozambicans. They had to live with limitations. But basically this is whole idea about international solidarity they come to Germany, work and live, get educated and experience and return home to develop their own country. Some of them left Germany unpaid though...compensation has been discussed.
>>157328793That is true. The area really suffered after the system collaps and forced system change. Also, tons of young people left for the west. It obviously didn't do these places a favorI am a Wessi, so I cannot talk too much about what Ossis think. But I think many Ossis are disillusioned in hindsight, even though they're still not necessarily mad at the idea of being part of a "unified" Germany now/again. But there's definitely some resentment over the system change and the attitude that comes with it, for example media is obviously mostly western-based and kind of treats modern Ossi stuff either as a blackbox ("the mysterious east") or some dumb tendency that needs proper education to end. I could imagine many think they were a bit too hasty back then, but those who were alive back then probably know why people back then were hyped at first
