Lebron wouldn't have been a starter if he played in the 80s and 90s

Height advantage is why basketball will always be amateur hour. There can't be more than a couple of hundred young people 6'10 or taller in the US. Your NBA superstars aren't skillful so much as just tall, the best in a village of people. The much shorter ones may be skilled though. Of all American sportsball basketball probably comes closest to resembling a real actual sport but unfortunately the height thing spoils it.

I'm still waiting for the meta to be wemby tier 8 foot freakazoids and 5 foot tall midgets dribbling the ball so low those freaks can't even reach it. THEN it will be a top tier sport that's my multiball take

he speaks as though for the last 20 years defenders have not done everything in their power to stop LeBron yet still gets his 30 points and 10 assists and 10 rebounds so im not really sure what Rodman is trying to say

I'm so glad I never have to see LeBUM in a Lakers uniform again. Truly the sun is shining finally. We will never forgive him for getting rid of Caruso

Should basketball have something like height divisions? Similar to weight classes? It is somewhat interesting that team sports in general don’t impose restrictions on sizes. The obvious problem is that it requires duplicate leagues and tournaments.
>>
>>157326254
Nah, we all know which kind of division we wanna see B====D

Height becomes a detriment after a certain point. Longer limbs = longer levers = greater forces on joints = more injuries. Look up the percentage of players over 7 foot 2 who have careers that span any real length of time with them being able to contribute significant minutes. It's as low as 15% of them.

This is why they can't bulk up Wemby, btw. Extra weight, even if it's mostly muscle, contributes to the forces on joints problem (muscle in your upper back & shoulders isn't helping stabilize your ankles). He then gets pushed around by guys several inches shorter than him who can afford to bulk more, and he ends up exhausted by the end of the game from trying to battle guys stronger than he is.

>Height becomes a detriment after a certain point.
Sure but that "certain point" is important. Height becomes a detriment to being able to stand after a certain point. If only the tallest 0.1% of people can become true elites then the competition is going to be a lot smaller, cutting out all those 99.9%+ of potential competitors. Using 7 foot 2 as a reference point doesn't do a whole lot for your argument.
