Are you ready for a NFL world cup?
>>
>the Quebec Nordiques are back
>in the NFL
>>
>>157406963
Dont think so its almost imposible for american football to expand, plus a lot of countries play rugby already
This version tho >>157397650 now thats based and could expand
>>
>all teams made up americans players who have a thrice removed cousin from some other country that qualifies them which they wouldnt have done it if they were picked for the US team

it will only be Europe if they get supersonic planes again
otherwise it will just be toronto

Vancouver already belongs to a football team
>>
>>157406963
Canada has laws in place to keep the NFL out of the country.

A team in Europe would be too expensive to operate and won't draw the attendance numbers for a whole season

México is feasible, theres enough fans and it would be easy to operate, but it would be just as profitable to expand to untaped american markets or markets that already had an NFL team and lost it like Oakland

So no it's all hype, also watch LFA nigga thats how the sport grows by supporting the local league
>>
>>157406963
American football played on a widespread level would bankrupt any nation with universal healthcare
>>
>>157411055
There is widespread american football played here and we have (shitty) free healthcare

That why we por?
>>
>>157410856
it was a proposed law that was never enacted

>the bill stated that no person that owns, operates, or manages a team in a league foreign from the CFL shall play in Canada. Subsection 2 stated that no player or member of the said team shall play in Canada.

in theory it didn't just ban the NFL, it even banned another Canadian league from forming
it's a moot point considering bills have played in Toronto, and Ricky Williams served his NFL suspension year in Toronto too

Mexico is a riskier move than Toronto, Rogers family of billionaires already control the 3 major teams in the city and are publicly known to want NFL
>>
>>157411139
Didnt the bills stopped playing in Toronto because of this drama tho? Know it wasnt enacted but shit is brought up and theres rattelign when they see the NFL could cross the line

I agree Canada is the smartest choice but theres powers that be that will fight it off, so is it worth it?

And again, i still say this is baseless hype for any country
>>
>>157411190
Also i'm preetty sure if there was any real interest and no barriers on having a Canadian team it would have been done a long time ago, think about it how come all other mayor american sports leagues have teams in Canada, except for the most popular and richest of them all? Theres gotta be more money to be made in Toronto than fucking Jacksonville or Tampa
>>
>>157411190
pretty sure the bills stopped playing there because they werent even selling out the stadium and wanted their own home stadium atmosphere again. the biggest "problem" will be that canadian provinces and citys wont pay for a public stadium like us sport team owners want. it will be exactly like how the whitecaps situation is playing out now.
>>
London could support an NFL team full time no problem - there’s enough UK fans alone plus Europeans. I doubt it will happen though without concord coming back.
>>
>>157411190
>Didnt the bills stopped playing in Toronto because of this drama tho?
the bills owner was the original founder of the team and didn't have as much money as newer owners, it was a cash grab on his part, he died, a new billionaire took over and terminated the deal

>>157411270
LA didn't have a team for 1995-2015, but NFL liked having the potential to move a team there
there's an idea that CFL upset NFL when they expanded into America in the 90s and neither league respected the others contracts until a recent agreement, NFL likes having Toronto as a potential to fuck the CFL over if they upset them
>>
>>157410856
What about Brasil
>>
>>157411631
Why did CFL changes the field size among other things?
>>
>>157412196
>The main field of play will shrink from 110 yards to 100 yards, end zones will drop from 20 yards to 15 yards deep
so if the field is 130 yards instead of 150 there's more venues they can play in

> among other things?
this one is harder to know, nothing is official but followers are expecting some sort of american merger or expansion and those rules were just the first of many, the big change they would need for that is dropping the roster spots reserved for canadian players
there's a big difference between ownership 10 years ago and now, one owner twice had 2 teams just to keep one afloat until a new buyer came in, and now 4 or 5 of the 9 teams have a billionaire ownership group

Bombers is a based name
>>
>>157411082
Mexican football is underrated. And I say that as a gringo.
>>
>>157412097
Even worse idea than Europe, theres less fans and disposable income

every time lmao

>>157414559
I'm assuming it would be a merger with the UFL?
>>
>>157406963
>London got bombed to smithereens
>Mexico used to be cannibal savages
>Canada is a big block of ice

Have some self-respect.

I did see "American Football" being played in Europe on tv the other day with knockoff nfl team names.
>>
When we have hypersonic planes we'll have global sports leagues.
>>
Canada and maybe somehow Mexico City makes sense but that's about it. The NFL probably doesn't see enough new growth potential though.
