Latin America (Nicaragua) vs. Caribbean (Dominican republic) (1 p.m., ESPN)

Southeast (Alabama) vs. Northwest (Washington) (3 p.m., ESPN)

Canada (Vancouver) vs. Asia-Pacific (south korea) (5 p.m., ESPN)

Metro (new jersey) vs. New England (Massachusetts) (7 p.m., ESPN)

Funnily enough, it’s one of our only “world championships” that’s actually a world championship.

Damn, Nicaragua's pitcher is good. 5 k's already.

Too bad his wrist will be wrecked when he gets older from throwing these curveballs at a young age.
>>
>>157410635
Lol, hopefully the pitch limit stops that from happening. But can easily see a middle school or high school coach abusing it. Hopefully that doesn't happen either.

Are the brackets random?
>>
>>157409966
Why can’t they ever be up front with exactly which team is which instead of these fuzzy geographic regions. Enough with "Metro" or "Europe-Africa", just give us the state or country.

They do during they game but not on the bracket. I heard it's too "discourage nationalism." Because some countries (mostly taiwan. Went crazy with it in the 90's like starting fights and chanting racial slurs. Over little league.

>>157411320
Tbh I like the dimensions as they are. Part of what I like about little league is that it's not super competitive. It part of the charm.

bold decision to make all the uniforms look like dogshit this year

think a part of this is that runners can't take a lead off the bag until the ball is put in play

They get worse ever year. I started to notice this like 3 years ago. It's like they're more focused on getting some sort of graphic design instead of making an actually good looking sleek jersey.

I really want to see a japan-south korea game. It's been so long since a Korean team was here. I keep saying they should replace Australia's guaranteed spot with taiwan so we can get more Asia pacific teams.
>>
HOME RUN SOUTH KOREA
>>
>>157412310
Taiwan should have been permanently banned from little league eligibility for being the shittiest baseball "country" in the world. They fake birth certificates to lie about player ages when they aren't just giving PEDs to actual twelve year olds. Dirty play on and off the field. All for a children's game being played by children.
>>
What an odd song for a Korean child in 2026 to have as there favorite. Not judging, just saying.
>>
I knew this would be a stomp by Korea.

>>157412490
They did get banned for a couple years in the 90's. I think they've cleaned up there act since then. But yeah, that was extremely pathetic. Like they should still feel embarrassed about that shit. I know i would.

If anything I'm surprised Eur-Afr gets a spot. The Latin and Caribbean qualifyers must be tough to get out of too.
>>
Shit, all the games got canceled today. Well hopefully the "karma" gained from this keeps the rest of the games from being delayed for canceled.

>>157419265
Lol. I don't mind euro-africa getting a spot despite them not being competitive because of just how absurdly large their region is, they gotta get something. But yeah, probably even some of the the worst teams from the Caribbean and Latin American regionals are better than the euro-africa champions.
>>
>>157421913
I was thinking more about the guaranteed slot. Seems more logical that Canada should have that spot. I see it's the Czech though so that's neat.
>>
Show me some Oneesans of the Japan players
>>
I'm gonna take a wild guess here and assume that we're all watching the japan game? It's the same japan team from last year and has some returning players. Although the California and the iowa pitchers were both. On the national team. So that could be good.

>>157414039
I think they want everyone to be represented to some capacity. Plus Europe could be a good market for this but idk.
>>
When I was a kid I used to watch this shit on ESPN and curse at my luck for being born in this hellhole
>>
anyone remember Ed Howard, shortstop on the Chicago little league team that made headlines over a decade ago. Dude got drafted by the Cubs a few years ago and I was pretty excited but he cannot hit a lick, he's always just been an absolutely elite fielder, even back in the LLWS that was obvious. I don't understand how he is still kicking in the minors, he routinely runs a 40% K rate and bats like .150 with zero power. The guy is obviously a great athlete probably should have played literally any other sport besides baseball.
>>
Damn, Japan's pitcher was pretty fast but curcao's hitting is great. curcao's pitcher is good to. It's crazy that a country of 150,000 is beating a country of 120 million where baseball is by far the most popular sport.

Although that begs the question how the fuck are the teams decided. They it's based on the amount of little league's in a region. But there's no way curcao a country of abou 150,000 has anywhere near the amount of team as say taiwan. A country of 30 million where the most popular sport by far is baseball.

Also Iowa's pitcher has faced 6 batters and struck out 5 of them.

>>157429900
I watched this as a kid too. Was it hard to join a team in Venezuela back then? Aren't you guys a big baseball country?

>>157429978
That sucks. I feel like it's been a while since a kid from the llws has made it to the majors. Theirs alot of really hyped up kids this year so let's hope one of them makes it.

decent chance any year that they're in the LLWS that someone on the Curacao team will be in the big leagues one day. They were just talking about Ceddanne Rafaela being one
>>
>>157429978
His team cheated by getting players outside of the boundary for Jackie Robinson West.
>>
>>157430028
>Venezuela
Even if I were from Venezuela or played Baseball and moved to Venezuela for baseball (which I never played officially) it was very unlikely to experience a little world series.
If I was from Japan or USA, Canada, Mexico, was probably hard as well but at least there is a path to make it there
>>
>>157430028
>https://www.littleleague.org/who-we-are/alumni/major-leaguers-played-llbws/
looks like there's a bunch, including at least 4 who debuted in MLB this year
And the broadcast was mentioning that Curacao has just 3 little leagues, and one of them sucks. so now that they have a guaranteed spot as of this year it's basically just between "Pabao Little League" and "Pariba Little League".
Though I doubt Taiwan or Korea have that many little leagues either, at least not compared to USA even per capita, maybe Taiwan does since Little League was such a cultural institution for them for such a long time. But they still probably have their own organizations for youth sports I would assume, plus I don't think they do nearly as much organized youth sports in the first place.
>>
> California vs Iowa game actually looking better than Japan vs curacao.

Wasn't expecting that but then again both of the pitchers were on the 12u usa team. Japan getting stomped.

ok now explain Haiti vs the DR. USA was as involved in Haiti as anywhere.
The caribbean coast of Colombia plays baseball too, USA wasn't that involved there, they play because their neighbors do, same with Curacao. Costa Rica just missed the memo, or they're just gay or something.

the Latin American teams are usually pretty mediocre. Australia and Europe are always the worst. Canada is mediocre. Japan and Asia-Pacific (Korea or Taiwan) are usually the best, and Curacao.

Idk. I feel like japan hasn't been "bringing it" these past few years like the used to. Like after covid something changed. But maybe I'm just underestimating Curacao and let that 6-0 lose skew my view to much.
