Double Palace and Sunderland for us, good luck with that. At least the pot 4 draw was lenient. I was hopeful for both Lech and Jaga finihing top 24, but it will be tough to get those 10-11 points, especially for the former.

Palace look to have got the best draw in terms of big names visiting Selhurst Park + decent away trips.

Bournemouth have the biggest name in the competition though in the form of Milan, and Sunderland get the honour of travelling there too... both will be well up for that.

Sunderland have four winnable home matches but none of the biggest are travelling to the Stadium of Light, so anyone unable to go away will perhaps feel underwhelmed. But still, as draws for a first European campaign in half a century go, it's not a bad one.

Calling it now, in only this season Denmark will take more than 20k coefficient points and surge past Czechia, Norway, Greece and Poland to 10th place. And the season after they could climb even higher as Turkey and Netherlands will have 11k and 13k point seasons removed from the score (age-ing out with the 5-year rule) and Denmark (and also Norway) have bad 5k point seasons that will age out. So thats a free 8k Denmark will just take in on Netherlands. so in 2 Seasons Denmark can very realistically be 8th and have 2 direct spots for CL and 1 quali. However at that same time a 2k point season from Greece from 22/23 will age out so Greece will also climb (2K, WTF happened there!?)

Im sorry Poland-anon.. Greece, Denmark and Norway will just surge past in the near future

>>
>>157508941
One interesting thing also is the 15th spot (means 2 possible CL teams) Cyprus now seem to control quite comfortably with a 4k point gap to the Swiss and Austrians going forward, and they have a bad season age-ing out
>>
>>157508426
any reasons why the premier teams are all in pot 3?
>>
>>157509268
Yes actually, Bigger leagues gives a bigger base-line coefficient score for "0-played games in europe in a 5-year period" teams, so these debutants have only this score to rely on which is still decent for big leagues. I think it has to do with the average score a league in total divided by the number of teams and in a 5 year period or something like this

More in Coefficient news!

Scotland had 2 CL qualifying team for this season, that wont happen for a long while again, currently theres an 8k point gap up to Cyprus on 15th spot.

Regarding 22th spot which is import for starting later in the CL-qualifying which is very important to get your champions into atleast Conference.. Romania has that spot right now, they got a medium hard draw all in all in Conference, can they get like 7 point i think they will keep that spot ahead of Romania and Israel who both have 1 team in europe this season but in harder tournaments and the gap up is 800 points.

I mean the difference of Rangers and Hibs making it vs not for this season Conference league phase will have big impacts on a 5 year time scale for their coefficient ranking and thus for Scottish football as a whole, Celtic soon also will have to start CL qualifying 1 round earlier! which means even less chance for them to make it to CL proper. This years points Hearts and Celtic will rack up in total will also be divided by 5 as Scotland started with 5 teams, so wins and draws this season will give Scotland less points than their competitors who started the season with 4 teams.

Its over (for the near future)
>>
Celta is screwed, hard path, really easy for don josé boradalás Getafe, real suciedad got a normal draw but easier than celta.
>>
>>157509607
I remember several times in the past there were talks about scottish football clubs joining the english leagues just like welsh teams.
Rangers and Celtic would be playing bottom championship if that ever happened
>>
>>157509869
They would be title contenders. Obviously none of the current players will play though
>>
>>157509960
oh yeah that makes sense, their income would go up crazy, but title contenders? nah

Most would agree that Rangers are the bigger club within Scotland, and Celtic the bigger club globally. They both have millions of supporters, but the core are concentrated within the British Isles.

Leeds, West Ham, Tottenham, etc have millions of fans around the world, but they're not challenging for the title every season. Likewise, Wrexham have many new fans around the world, but they're not exactly Liverpool or Man United. If the Old Firm did well in England, it would be from the boost that associating with Englishness provided as much as new money boosting their pre-existing infrastructure and squad. That's what they can't grasp. They're making an argument that not being Celtic and Rangers would make them better than Celtic and Rangers. It's arrogant and maniacal.
>>
>>157508159
If they couldn't deal with Ferencvaros, I can't see them beating any pot 1 team.
>>
>>157510744
kek. true, but I can see Salah having a positive impact on the squad in general

Stop being clueless, just watch Panathinaikos on Monday with it's new signings and you will understand that it's only upwards from here. Kangwa and Louza will hold the middle now and we are expecting one more midfielder, also players need some more prep, we also have excuse on why we were bad because we had like 12 new players and a new coach. You on the other hand have a lot of problems. Also why are you seething about Panathinaikos? Maybe because we are the Presvis of Europe?
