Game called OFF ffs
I'm convinced we would have won today under my captaincy (quite a weak team who we're against, they only beat us last time because they dropped a couple of players down from their 1s to their 3s)
Now we have to walk away with 5 points instead of 20, and our position in the league is FUCKED as a result
Forecast isn't so bad for later, we should have demanded to try to get the game in, even if it meant hanging around for hours waiting for it to dry out a bit

>>157512533
Probably literally every sport desu
I was in all of the sports teams at school (captaining them until a disciplinary issue during a cricket match caused me to get stripped of the captaincy, and subsequently withdraw my services from all teams until a resolution was reached) whereas you give off the air of one of those runty kids with absolutely zero talent or hand-eye coordination who ends up doing fake """sports""" like bouldering as a result (no offence intended)
Tennis could be tight because beyond decent hand-eye coordination I don't have any particular talent for it, but I think I could beat you just by hitting the ball to a different side each time (your years of alcoholism have ruined your cardiovascular system, so you'd be a-huffin and a-puffin and a-collapsin within 4 games
>>
The disciplinary issue in question, you ask?
I told my wicket-keeper he was shit after letting 4 byes through his legs
But he was a mate of mine and agreed that the mistake in question was shit, so don't see why the PE teacher needed to get involved and make a big thing of it desu

>>
this country is still predicated on the output of its private schools so when said institutions started producing people like zachy the country descended to a deeper layer of shit. it used to be that some people who went to private school had the wherewithal to acknowledge that they benefited from a system that the country had been built around, but would do everything in their power to improve the lot of the whole strata of society. the knock-on effect would be that it inadvertently justifies the continued existence of the system. but then the country received a zachyfied generation of privately educated who are far too retarded to understand the world around them. britain will never recover from the breakdown of its private schools producing nothing but zachys.

It's crazy that Zachy is a turbo-tarq and yet possesses no batsmanning ability whatsoever

I find the increasing proportion of tarqs within our 1st XI to be rather rum (they're talking about a few more of their tarq mates joining next year ffs), but it's undeniable that their education has resulted in better batting technique than us humble plebs, which has helped the side considerably

To go to such a school and yet learn absolutely nothing in the ways of cricketmanship is just unforgiveable, mother Bowen must be cursing the wasted thousands spent on his education

Not too far from the truth desu, I don't rate myself as a great catcher and have dropped as many chances as I've taken this year

York is a pretty touristy place from what I gather. Lot of people are very nice about it, cousin went there for uni as well. Only downside as far as I can tell is certain man living there. But apparently is very good for pubs and cask beer.

As for the chat about London pubs, you do get pretty good cask coverage but it varies in quality considerably (much like all places really) but central London being much bigger than everywhere else it just seems a greater breadth. The actually pubs serving consistently decent cask is probably no more as a proportion than the average. Sheffield and Manchester are probably better. Sticking to Fullers pubs is a safe bet.

Tourists don't tend to go to the Merchant Adventurers' Hall, Castle Museum or the Phoenix Inn. Because they are plebs and don't know York like me

that's the case at the three rural pubs i mentioned, but usually one is whatever chain brewery's boring slop (Greene King is the worst for this) or both are just the same two beers every single time.
pic related is an extreme example of superior pub in Cambridge, and it's only a partial shot of the bar which has many more pumps. nothing like this in my area, nor in the next town over. i have to go to the cities for this experience, and then that means staying the night somewhere.

I can think of a handful of pubs in my area that have a selection of cask ales which is at least as good as that in pic related desu, although we are in a nice upmarket rural area that people visit to walk the dog and go to a nice country pub afterwards, so maybe it's not representative of rural areas generally

A bit like how bard merely gets his finger tips to any catch that comes his way, or like how I only get my finger tips to any 7A+ dynamic move
I know supermarket thieving has got more common in this country that seems to be falling apart, but I have never actually withessed it in person

Should M to F trans cricketer Anaya Bangar be allowed to play in the WBBL? Or in elite women's cricket?
To date, professional women's cricket hasn't had to deal with the impact of trans women.
That is about to change.
Anaya Bangar, the daughter (originally the son) of Indian former test cricketer Sanjay Bangar, who had gender affirming surgery in Thailand in 2023, has been approved to play in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) and now people are complaining.
South African international women's cricketer Marizanne Kapp was one of the first to say that Bangar has to be banned, saying it was absolutely ridiculous to allow her to play.
The issue isn't about rights. After all, women's cricket has far more same-sex relationships than exist in the wider community, with many women's cricketers married to each other, and it is well-established that same-sex relationships support trans rights. As a community, they are clearly all for trans rights.
The issue is about fairness.
Men are better at cricket than women.
Men hit it harder.
Men bowl it faster.
For women to get decent scores, the boundaries are brought right in.
And if a trans woman was allowed to play, she would have a distinct advantage.
Every single sport in the world has proven that, even after getting gender affirming surgery, even with smaller muscles, there are still enormous physical advantages that men have over women, and that is not something that modern medicine can do anything about.
This isn't controversial, or at least it shouldn't be.
It's simply about facts, and the reality that, as far as sports are concerned, men are stronger.
Ellyse Perry, who is one of the greatest women's cricketers the world has ever seen, was able to play first grade club cricket for men's sides in Sydney. But she was never good enough, or strong enough, to play in the men's BBL, or the men's Sheffield Shield.
It's like how even the best women's tennis players who have ever lived can't beat even a Top 200 male tennis player.

>‘Transgender’ male Indian cricketer allowed to play in Australian women’s leagues
>A male Indian cricketer who claims to be a “transgender” woman has been cleared to play in women’s leagues in Australia by the sport’s ultra-woke governing body.
>Anaya Bangar, 25, who had genital-mutilating “sex change” surgery in Thailand in May, was approved under Cricket Australia’s Inclusion of Transgender and Gender Diverse Players in Elite Cricket Policy.
>Bangar, the son of former Indian cricketer and batting coach Sanjay Bangar, is now eligible to play in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) from March 2027, as well as in Premier Cricket and women’s community cricket across the country immediately.
>He said Cricket Australia made the decision after assessing his medical records, blood tests, surgery documents and a research report from Manchester Metropolitan University’s Institute of Sport, but will still be required to show low testosterone levels to play in the WBBL, The Times of India reported.
>“My understanding from Cricket Australia’s clearance is that my eligibility for elite women’s cricket from March 2027 remains subject to the applicable policy requirements, including a blood test assessment at the same time,” he said.
>“If that March 2027 test confirms that I continue to meet the required testosterone criteria, I will be eligible to pursue selection for elite women’s cricket, including the Women’s Big Bash League pathway.”
>Cricket Australia’s elite policy requires a serum testosterone concentration below 10 nanomoles per litre for at least 12 months.
>Bangar, who previously represented Mumbai at the under-19 level, originally wanted to compete in women’s cricket in India, but received no response when she wrote to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) asking whether males who claimed to be females could compete.

>Pakistan will have an audience with King Charles this week, days after a threat to cancel their tour of England was made because of an interview with the sons of Imran Khan.

>During lunch on day one of the second Test, Sky Sports aired an interview with Suleiman and Kasim Khan, the sons of former Pakistan captain and prime minister Imran. Imran Khan has been in prison for the past three years on charges of corruption, which he denies.

>Before the interview was aired, the Pakistan Cricket Board raised the prospect of not resuming the second Test at Lord's and cancelling the remainder of the three-match series. At the time, the England and Wales Cricket Board took government advice from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

>Buckingham Palace has confirmed the King is expected to meet the tourists later this week in an engagement planned before the series began.

>"His Majesty the King, as Head of the Commonwealth, will receive the Pakistan Men's Test Cricket Team for an audience in the gardens of Clarence House, in the break between the second and third Test matches hosted in England over the summer," said a statement.

>It is understood His Majesty will spend around 15 minutes with the Pakistan team.
