Hey, no talking about Spurs!
>>
>>157556849
They're looking at a winger from Millwall but could do with a ball winning midfielder.
New striker will probably do well if he can adapt. 6'5 striker is just funny.
Vuskovic is an upgrade on van Hecke, spurs got their pants pulled down on that.
Yalcouye has been well primed to be an influential player. A young lad called Orozco from Columbia will be going out on loan to start priming him as the Yalcouye replacement whenever that happens. Probably 2 seasons.
The defence has had a significant upgrade and it looks like they're adopting a 3atb system with wingbacks sometimes playing as wingers and every player encouraged to get forward in possession. A couple of players promoted from the U21 after winning the PL2 last season, hope Osman steps up.
In general there seems to be a push towards versatility of players rather than outright specialists in each position. Players like Hinshelwood and Kadioglu can play almost any position. There's also been a push for greater height and physically strong players.
Still a fair few injuries that seem to have all hit at the same time. Mitoma, Minteh, Ayari, Hinshelwood, Rutter all out for a few weeks and the Greek lads Tzimas is due back about the same time so I'm hoping the other players can shore up the attack until they're back. That seems to be going ok with 11 goals over the last 3 games.
The conference league draw seemed fairly favourable so I imagine they'll progress through that without too much drama, League cup I don't think they're too bothered about but obviously a bit of a ridiculous first draw to get Utd at Old Trafford.
General feel among fans is that it's been a downgrade on last season but I'm not sure I agree with that. I feel the team is pretty strong and the tactics/set up from the manager seem decent. I think they could balance winning the UECL and a decent finish in the Prem, above 8th would be good.
Still have players to offload today, could do with bringing in a strong tackling midfielder

Server announcement regarding our new player Mudryk:
It seems like our club has thrown out any due diligence for de zerbi's targets.

Following recent discussions regarding our new player, we want to make our position absolutely clear.
We do not support Mykhailo Mudryk, and we will not be backing any transfer or association with him.

This decision is based on multiple concerns

Screenshots have surfaced showing Mudryk making light of the Volhynia Massacre, a WWII era atrocity in which approximately 100,000 predominantly polish women and children were r**ped and killed by the Ukrainian Ins. Army, which was allied with Nazi Germany at the time.
He has also publicly expressed strong support for Israel, the Israeli Defence Forces and their atrocities committed in their neighbouring countries.

While we respect individual freedoms of expression, we do not condone or align with these views in any capacity. Any member found endorsing, defending, or showing support for his stated positions will face an immediate ban.

If you have questions, please reach out to me privately and I will answer questions regarding this topic.
Thank you for your understanding, its about to be a long season

PSR has made the whole thing a joke let's be honest. Clubs clearly doing deals that are basically swaps, and a system that adds an incentive to sell academy products is utterly broken. Might as well just go back to no financial controls. If some billionaire wants to spunk a load so be it, just stop any state owning shares in a club as that's when it becomes a joke politically.
>>
>>157557189
And spuds decided to back him for half a billy
Truly a match made in hell (or heaven?)
>>
>>157557021
why do man city keep him instead of selling? they aren't going to make him a first team player again? his dataStats they feed through the AI don't show he is going to hit the highlights again.
>>
>>157557209
If a club is unable to sell an unwanted player, it means their wages are too high for other clubs to match. It's rare that a player/agent will accept a paycut in order to facilitate a transfer, so they usually end up getting loaned out instead until their current contract ends, with the loaning club usually agreeing to pay just a fraction of the full wages. In Grealish's case, he's on £300k/w at City.
>>
>>157557171
I honestly can't think of a precedent for this aside from relegated clubs. What is the strategy here? Sell your entire squad and scramble around replacing them at the last minute with shittier players nobody else wanted?
>>
>>157557135
>Just take a wage cut
Very few will ever do this. Most would rather take the money at the cost of their own career. The amount a club like City can pay vs a club like Everton is incomparable.

At the age when Wirtz won the double with Leverkusen, Woltemade was playing on loan in the German third tier for a season.

It is unclear how well he will perform in the Champions League. He has not played in the competition because Stuttgart did not include him in their squad for it last season. He has not yet scored against big teams, his most important goal coming in the cup final against the third-tier side Arminia Bielefeld.

He is a player with virtually no track record. At the European Under-21 Championship this summer, he was the top scorer – one of the oldest players in one of the oldest teams. The best footballers, such as Lamine Yamal, Bellingham, Jamal Musiala and Wirtz, do not take part in such tournaments having long since outgrown the level.

Woltemade is unpredictable, his dribbling, passing and shooting are not found in the textbooks; they are unique, with no international comparison. Unlike other top players, his centre of gravity is rarely at the centre of the movement. He thrives on his free spirit and self-confidence and seems to want to reinvent the game at No 9.

But he has not yet developed any consistency or patterns – not in his first touch, not in his combination play, not in his timing on headers, not in his shooting. His goals are not the logical consequence of excellent actions and skills. His excellence is not repeatable. And he still has to prove that he can last 50 games in a season, because he is tall but not robust.

The €85m (£73.5m) that Newcastle are paying for Woltemade is therefore a gamble. For the player, the new contract is a once-in-a-lifetime project. He wanted to go to Bayern Munich, and when someone else paid the asking price, he went there. The owners from Saudi Arabia and the club’s management are new to the business. In a gold rush atmosphere, mistakes are made and miracles are believed in.

Naively I replied in the old thread. I mentioned this a few weeks ago when everyone else was hyping Villa for establishing themselves. You know that painting of all the elites dancing and partying while the harlequin sits with the letter knowing they're fucked? I felt like that harlequin.
It's more about the wages Villa have players on. Leicester had a similar model
>Buy a few players
>Put them on big wages to attract them
>Sell them for a profit
>The sale keeps things floating along nicely
>Gradually spend more on better players that will command a higher transfer fee and therefore more profit
>But kung flu happened and the whole model got fucked
It's partly why Villa always seemed to sell someone who was doing well. Their wages to turnover is/was fucking mental at one point.

the 30+ year old uncs have increased wages from multiple transfers or their fair market value from running out a contract.

players & agents are just retarded and rather than waiting out their contract for a few years in able to get their fair market value on the open market, they DEMAND transfers which results in the team buying them having less ability to pay them salary. players need to think of a transfer fee as being more or less deducted from their salary over the life of the contract. this is what mbappe did and it's why he is on £500k/w.

Biggest runners of the entire opening weekend. Slater was the reason Hull scored both goals and United were humiliated by a lad who cost Hull just £50,000 from Sheffield United, and another player who joined Hull from MLS.

>even though a week later hull were outplayed against already relegated lampard circus
And look what Lampard's circus did. They lost to a counter attack.

Hull under Jakirovic have been written off every single time. They live for that.

So their midfield is shit and their defence? They've scored, what, eight goals and conceded five? You can keep this up when you don't have any European football. When Arsenal are toothless (or, more specifically, everybody just plays low-block to try and counter attack/set piece win) they're not a threat. United have CL football and I think will be exposed, doubly so if they lose Fernandes for any length of time. Liverpool will either suddenly 'wake up' or struggle. Spurs. Lol. So that leaves City and Chelsea as the only viable teams for the crown. City have spend big, so have Chelsea. Whether they've improved is subjective but they're not much worse.

Wait are Arsenal waiting until the end of the window to sell Martinelli, assuming they get a replacement, and if they don't they will cancel the deal? It's the only logic here. There is literally nobody they're linked to, so outside of a Tielemans tier signing, they're getting nothing.

People forget that players are often good because they're playing with X. Tielmans was good for Villa because Kamara did a lot of work. Enzo is good because Caicedo does a lot of work. But we forget that and just hope that X works the same as Y. It's why Isak and Wirtz aren't raping it up (yet).
