Kinoshita Group Cup women free skating starting in 30 minutes!
This is one of the most important days in years!First of all, Sasha - Alexandra Trusova, now Ignatova - is making a comeback after 4 years. She's a legendary skater who led the "Quad revolution" in women skating with record high 5 (five!) quads in single free skate. Her last international result was silver medal at Olympics in Beijing 2022.She gave birth a year ago and few months later, came back to training, even managed to restore one of her quad jumps. That's something incredible, unheard of previously, to come back to the sport after this. Usually the body changes and new responsibilities are too much and skaters retire. Not Sasha. She's still working on restoring other technical elements and stamina but you can already see there is more maturity to her skating.
Fuck off pedo with a vpn
>>157614944They are adults...
God a motherfucker got sasha pregnant and it wasnt me, fuuck
Second is Mao Shimada, the most dominant junior in history, entering senior rivalry. She has been winning everything, her profile is full of gold medals. Let's see how she handles the pressure now. Day1 looked good, she started off short program well, setting world record for base values of technical components under new scoring rules.
>>157614934she's perfect
Then, we have Ami Nakai. Olympic bronze medalist from Milan this year - and she seems to be in even higher form than back then! She delivered stunning performance scoring over 80 points in short program with all elements receiving high Grade of Execution (GOE).
Standings after short program.Anything can happen in the top6 honestly. It all depends on who skates clean.
Skating order for today. Times in JST, they are starting in 5 minutes.
>>157615023>>157615032you know who i really liked? anna frolova
>>157614934She looks too big to be a skater
>>157615039Sadly I wasn't able to watch her, was super busy on Friday, only caught a couple of skates, the starting two and few at the end. I will pay attention to everyone today though.
>>157615023wow Ami-chan is good!
>>157615048did you see the junior gp in bangkok? sofiia is so beautiful. plus she speaks perfect english
Watching here vkvideo dot ru/video-203984440_456241320>>157615049Yeah, I was super impressed with her. She was a bit shaky at the end of last season and Kinoshita is the most stacked competition... since 2022 Beijing honestly, so I was worried if she would be able to handle the pressure, but she did it the best of all!
>>157615066Yeah, I watched most of SP and managed to sort out all the Friday issues before final 10 on FS. I love this program of Sofiia, never expected to see Matrix in figure skating. She embodies Trinity so well and you can see her ballet background in how beautiful she skates.Wouldn't call her English perfect but it's certainly impressive she can handle an interview in English without any translators. New generation is built different.
It's so weird seeing the names in Japanese. I can read the language (fuck katakana though) but it's just so foreign to look at upper left corner and see different writing system. Most other competitions use English names, no matter where they happen. Takes some solid mental reconfiguring to process it.
>>157615083not sure if you've seen this but it's so cutehttps://x.com/OliviazBored/status/2093190334473728188and yes you're 100% right about her ballet training. it's what differentiates her from all the other boring (american) skaters who can only jump and throw their hands around
Seojin, please do better than on Friday! That day was disastrous for Korea, it's like the ancient land of WW Japan was emitting negative waves to them ww.
Far from perfect but it is a clear improvement. No shame in being near the bottom when the roster is so stacked. And yup, she does look happier.
>>157615114Oh wow, that's really good. Nope, haven't seen it, thanks for linking.
>>157615068i've been watching a lot of russian rg, and it's very easy to pick up the script, and the language itself doesn't seem too difficult if you put a bit of effort into it. japanese is on another level to say the least
>>157615171Cyryllic is honestly easier to read than English for me, for Russian names at least. Sometimes they get completely messed up by trying to fit them to weird English phonetics while if you know RU letters (as you said, it's not that much effort to learn them), you get both more concise writing and much more accurate pronunciation. Borderline cheating with how Anna Shcherbakova is Aннa Щepбaкoвa, 4 characters condensed into 1.With Japanese the issue is their "alphabet" is extremely limited phonetically, with only 46 syllables, while most languages have hundreds, so there's a lot of sacrifices being made to write stuff in kana.
Black woman did well.Aoki Yuna now! Redemption, hopefully.
...and a fall already. RIP.Next jumps were cleared at least.
Disappointing performance for her. Even in the step sequence and spins which should be her strength you could see the lacking energy. I assume she wasn't able to put in 100% effort after realizing she messed up previous elements already. Sad.She's breathing heavily, maybe some issues with physical preparation before the season?
Man, Koreans skate beautifully. Shame about the fall but she should defend her position at least.
Awwww, she didn't want to let go of coach, she needed a longer hug from the big lady. Cute. Moments like this show how much emotion and pressure they're feeling.
Nope, second place only. Not enough goe i guess. The second group is starting the warm up, the best ones!
They are getting so much applause. Sasha's outfit looking fire.
Mao going for youthful look, huh? Not sure if it's ideal for free skate, don't like her dress. Ami went with bright colors too but looks way more elegant.WOW that jump by Sasha.
Wew, Ami nailed that triple Axel. Practice looking well.
Zhilina should invest into quads. She has plenty of spare air time on her triples, feels like she's limiting herself only doing three rotations on some of the jumps, flip especially.
Great job. Nice, exotic program.
Lmao, she used simple pen to write on A4 pages instead of proper marker, barely visible.I think it was 日本ありがとう and 愛してます? Camera zoomed out quickly.>Thank you Japan!>I love you!
>>157615310>>157615325she's so hot
Lovely fluid hand movements by Frolova. One of my favorite things in figure skating.Anna was flexing her flexibility with that sliding split, heh.
YES. Monstrous quad!FUCK stream lagged right after, I missed 10 seconds.
compare this to the trash that is alysa. it's like watching two completely different sports
Magnificent performance by Sasha. I was so tense, worried for her. She skated clean! And it looks like her artistry has improved as well! Firmly in the lead, and good chance of advancing in ranks.
Kamilla didn't handle the pressure as well, huh? That means Sasha medal!
Uhhh what is this music?
>>157615447on another note, it's so sad that valieva's neutral status got revoked. i was really looking forward to seeing her
