The owner is an insane retard who genuinely doesn't understand how to build a team other than try to shove more money than anyone else in it.
This strategy worked when the other teams had tons of financial issues and were also ran by retards, but now quite a few teams have found financial balance and have actual multi-year long strategies on how to develop their clubs.
