How many world cups would he have if he played for spain?
>>
>>157914757
2, 2006 Spain was still not at the peak of its performance, 2014 was bad, 2018 was mediocre with an awful manager, 2022 was good but with a manager with his head up his own ass and well we know how 2026 ended. Im not sure how much more Messi could have done to help Spain in its lower years and im not sure if De La Fuente would have started him on the 2026 WC.
>>
>>157914917
messi took argentina single handedly to 3 finals nigga even without dimaria he took you guys to the last one

But he can make sure you get an easy group stage, gift you lots of penalties and ignore a lot of your fouls lel

The bong flag makes sense, but I didn't think they had too many indians in Brazil

By 2010 people were always claiming Messi as the GOAT and you think he wouldn't get in the team over a Pedro or David Silva? Lol
>>
>>157914757
3 easily.
>>
>>157914757
2010, 2014, 2018, 2022, 2026

basically every single one since he started playing
>>
>>157915217
None, not even Messi can save Italy.
>>
I still remember when we were the eternal failure, 0 cups (except a random turboold Euro), 0 legendary players and literally you could ignore us in the Champions league, and look at us now, there are anons saying that we would have 4 more WCs if we had Messi.
Do not lose hope anons.
>>
>>157925292
Spain has always been solid since long ago, easy to get wc if Messi was there; easier to carry 10 solid players rather than the 10 logs he had to carry for years
>>
>>157925292
We cannot have hope
It is over, on all fronts
But good for you
>>
>>157914991
we could've used di marica's presence in this year as well, gonzalez and simione's son were fucking awful
>>
>>157925292
and all because of FC Barcelona and others like Athletic or Atletico. But FC Barcelona especially. Zero (0) Real Madrid players.
>>
>>157939548
you just won a WC like it was yesterday, also we have a saying in Spain that goes: football is 11 vs 11 and Germany always win. Spain will eventually lose its current midfield and we'll lose again
>>
>>157915348
Kind of retarded when Spain's group Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia, and Uruguay is hardly much more challenging than Argentina's especially since no one expected Cape Verde to be decent and Uruguay has been washed since Suarez, Cavani, and Godin departed.

France also got an easy group stage: Iraq, Senegal, and Norway's B-Team.

And Portugal miraculously had goals by their opponents disallowed by VAR in all three of their group stage matches and the Round of 32.

>>157925292
In 2006 Argentina was widely considered to be a better national squad than Spain and more likely to win another World Cup. In 2002 Argentina's squad was stacked with elite club talent and they were favorites to win the whole thing, but they screwed by injuries and a retarded manager. The latter especially kept haunting them before they got Scaloni. 2010 Argentina was also a good squad but Maradona was an awful manager.

Among Argentina's 21st century squads, I'd say only 2018 was a genuinely bad or mediocre squad because it was a transitional period.

>>157943335
Spain has the deepest bench of any country because of La Masia. Every other national squad is wildly unbalanced.

France has no midfield. England has a weak backline and they have no forwards good enough to replace 33-year old Harry Kane. As much as people bitch about Ronaldo, Portugal doesn't really have any great forwards right now either and their midfield doesn't perform as well with the national team as they do with PSG. Germany's current generation is trash and the Dutch are only slightly better. Brazil's midfield is weak and Vini Jr is lazy. Belgium and Croatia's younger players aren't on the same level as their 2010s golden generations with many one or two exceptions. Italy...lol. Who's left?
>>
>>157945740
In no moment I ever said Argentina was the only one being helped. They just were helped the most. For two consecutive WCs also.
>>
>>157945926
In 2022 Argentina had a standard difficulty bracket, definitely not an unusually easy one, and in the final France would not have been able to equalize without those two penalties awarded to them. If FIFA wanted to help Argentina, why were those two penalties awarded to France? Especially the one given to France in extra time, which pretty much guaranteed the match would go to a penalty shootout where an Argentine player could easily bottle it? I know Brazilians are not renowned for their intelligence, but how does this make sense to you?
>>
>>157945992
>In 2022 Argentina had a standard difficulty bracket
And got helped with free penalties and barely any cards
>and in the final
Duh. The objective was to push Argentina to the finals and have Pissi vs Mbrap or Pissi vs Neymar finals, just like 2026's was a Pissi vs Yamal or Pissi vs Mbrap part 2. Clearly, as they also helped France and Brazil in that WC. As you said, in the final, something that they should've even have reached without all the help.
> rest of your post
Irrelevant. The objective was to get Argentina to the finals, and that they did, twice. What happened in the finals is irrelevant to Infantino's pocket. The setup was already done.

Sounds like you're arguing that FIFA just favors the marquee football nations in general (the Top 8 UEFA teams plus Brazil/Argentina) - which is a much more defensible position and often true - rather than that they want Argentina in particular to win, which is what the conspiratards think.
>>
>>157946071
I'm arguing FIFA conspired to get Messi in the finals against some marketable "rivals", twice. But yes, FIFA always favors the big boys.
>>
>>157946087
>I'm arguing FIFA conspired to get Messi in the finals against some marketable "rivals", twice

This is still retarded since Argentina defeated Croatia and Australia easily and in the Netherlands match, Argentina was in the lead when the ref not only added an exorbitant 10 minutes of stoppage time giving the Dutch lots of time to equalize, but even let the Netherlands' 90+11' equalizer go through when he could've just ended the match abruptly at the 100 minute mark. Again, this makes no fucking sense if FIFA were dead set on Argentina getting to the finals.

All the people saying 2018 don't remember >de gay's WOAT performance that year.

zero because he would force the manager to only play his friends
>>
>>157948277
So the Spanish NT would be mosty Barcelona players, just like it is now.

definitely 2, probably 3.
he wouldn't even have had to do much to win with spain 2026. they conceded 1 goal.
>>
>>157914757
At least 4.
Messi won with Di Maria and reached 2 finals with disable players who lost their way into UFC.

Prime Messi with THAT Spanish side
Spain would have won double the world cups they had(let's say 14 and 26)

Spain was already stacked, though
It couldn't hurt but I doubt he would be as effective as he was with Argentina

Messi would've solved Spain's no. 9 issue. He'd unlock Ferran's supersub jin 4th form.
