Neoliberal austerity politics. Post 1989, every form of sports funding has been cut to the bare minimum. We no longer have local youth clubs, scouting pipelines, coaching, infrastructure etc etc. The results are completely normal actually when you look at the overall structure. There are teams in the Polish ekstraklasa that receive more public funds than our entire sports system lol
