Many girls and boys have roughly the same height and level of muscle mass before puberty and the majority of girls start puberty several years before the average boy.I played on a boys team where girls were allowed to play from age 5 to 12. Some of the girls were faster, taller, stronger and more technically skilled than almost all of the boys at the time. We were separated into boys and girls teams from age 13 and onwards but in other clubs in Norway the best girls still play on the boys teams until age 15 if they want to. Ada Hegerberg and Caroline Graham Hansen are the most obvious examples from Norwegian football. They mogged most boys technically at age 14-15 but physically they started to fall further and further behind at that age so they returned to girls' football.
Often there'll be one star player on the girls team who completely dominates the game
