>"breaking" the rules just to be on even footing is... le BAD!!!!!
Football is a dying sport because of this, people only want the same three teams winning for hundreds of years without any sort of competition.
>>
trvke. i want to watch a team cheat 8/10 titles instead
>>
>>157989550
At least try not to appear biased
>>
surely there must be a way to achieve parity without using state funds to roid a mid club's finances to the gills and letting them create their own unstoppable monopoly instead

Leicester City.
>>
>>157989516
I thought Euros liked their sports to be brutally capitalistic, why are so many crying over what is essentially a salary cap
>>
i have a question pertaining to this. how come roman abramovich never had a problem like this? were the rules not as strict then, was he just more clever about hiding it, or was it just corruption?
>>
>>157989762
Exception to the rule
>>157989787
Because three clubs dont have that so called salary cap while the others are forced to suffer it
>>157989810
The ffp rules werent in place when Abramovich took over and pumped them
>>
>>157989762
They are in league one. I would not call that "achieving parity".

Anything the UAE does to try and bully the prem or the UK will simply build a case against their kind of ownership. Your team is fucking dead, and I will laugh and piss on its grave. Cheaters, you will be forever known as cheaters. Even if you play the entire pyramid and make your way back to the PL in 5 years time everybody will remember who you are: dirty rotten cheaters.

>>157989881
The only thing city did wrong was take the case to court. United arsenal and Liverpool have cheated openly over the years for those with eyes to see, but because they have never been sued nobody cares.
Winning a few trophies by lucky recruitment and then getting skinned alive is not parity. You don't truly care about fairness in sport, you just follow the media narrative.
>>
>>157990152
your team is dead kek
>>
i haven't paid attention to this thing, will it be a nothinburger or City will actually be playing against Millwall next season?
>>
>>157990169
I couldn't care less about city. They could rot in non league for all I care. But all this reaction of this being the worst to happen in this sport is not just ridiculous, it's disingenuous. United did worse things in Ferguson era. Somehow every single liverpool player had asthma under klopp. Gabriel got with away multiple assaults last season. But nobody cares. Not one peep from the media on any of these
>>
>>157990181
Neither, because millwall be in the prem and city will not be.

i stopped reading after seven words but i assume the rest of your post just regurgitates what the PL already said, alright cheers mate.

why would millwall be playing in the non-league next season? they're in tier 2 of the top four professional divisions and aren't at risk of expulsion.

City agreed to rules that they went on to break, lied during the process, and refused to co operate. They are now using their state backed power to threaten legal actions by strongarming with Etihad airways. Everything you mentioned pales in comparison to genuine geopolitical mess this league has allowed to happen. Let's find out how much tax they've dodged as well, then let's see you make those comparisons
>>
>>157990206
You are not seriously comparing a fraud approaching a billion pounds with letting players use a public medication, right?
It is true that all (big) clubs cheat to a degree, and one of the gray areas is that they give players all sorts of legal medications via loopholes. This is common knowledge, and it is not a good thing. But it’s not even remotely comparable to what City did (especially since their medication lists will still look very similar to Liverpool‘s at the end of the day), and you either know that yourself or you’re a genuine subhuman
However, yes, all of these clubs might as well be nuked. But City must go first for this blatant act of epic proportions
>>
>>157989516
paying big sums of money for players is only for the big clubs sweaty
if you are not a big club you should just be happy with small transfers
>>
>>157990258
>They are now using their state backed power to threaten legal actions by strongarming with Etihad airways.
I do like this bit from the latest BBC report: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cjkg7g93y5yno

>City's principal sponsor Etihad Airways has said it is considering legal action against the Premier League, claiming the release of the commission findings had "damaging implications…despite the airline not being named in the redacted published findings".

Now I wonder why it would have damaging implications?
>>
>>157990300
corrupted country from top to bottom, and we let them buy a football team.
>>
>>157989516
>t. zalgiris kaunas enjoyer
>>
>>157990258
>>157990260
The frauds only amounts to that much when you consider the sponsorships to be outside the "fair market value". If the same sponsorships had been taken by any of the other big clubs no one would even bat an eye.
I understand that it's because the other clubs had bigger following, but this just leans into that only big clubs are allowed to succeed.
Having your own sponsors was a genuine legal loophole because if it was one of the big clubs it would definitely be allowed.
What this case tells me is that big clubs can get away with almost anything. And as a fan of relatively smaller club, that part is concerning.
>>
>>157990258
>>157990300
>>157990330
And on the state backed threats, yeah that's disgusting, but what can you expect from Israelis in an arab dress. UAE as a country should be nuked
>>
its crazy how much boomers seethe about new blood in their sport kek
>>
>>157990366
It has nothing to do with fair market value. They quite literally lied about the amount of money and the source of the money, then used their financial advantage to cheat.
I think FFP has been implemented badly and the league would be better off with a standard spending cap for all teams, but the teams had the opportunity to vote against it and they didn't, yet City thought they could cheat anyway.
If you're a fan of a smaller club then you should be angrier than every big team fan, because they missed out on trophies but for smaller teams getting relegated or missing out on European football is existential, and City's cheating affected that too.
>>
>>157990366
I'm sorry Rajesh, but you can't just blatantly scam people because capitalism isn't a level playing field. City's owners had every chance to use their vast wealth to challenge the FFP rules as being inherently anti-competitive, and they could have got a lot of support from other disenfranchised clubs and made a real difference to the game. Instead they went down the "nah those rules are dumb so I'll just break them" route and screwed over everyone else along the way, which is the attitude of any common criminal before he gets caught.

>>
>>157990413
>City's cheating affected that too.
I don't agree with this but I can't really formulate why so I will concede this point.
And on the voting, I believe many clubs vote not because it will benefit them, but because it will be disadvantages to most other clubs. And most other clubs are small. Just a sad state of affairs overall.
>>
>>157990388
That's all this is. When britcucks lose at anything they always have excuses.
>>
>>157990561
well the point is the league is one big causal chain, this team beats that team because they lost to the other team last week and now they need the points, or lineups change depending on game week schedules and the strength of the team they are playing, and a thousand other moving parts. Everything affects everything, so when one team cheats they've cheated everyone.
>Just a sad state of affairs overall
Yeah and we've let it go this far and now it's going to be impossible to undo it properly..
>>
>>157990600
>when one team cheats they've cheated everyone.
Yes I agree, but personally I give more importance to cheating on the pitch than off. Maybe because it's blatantly visible and I'm too dumb to have object permanence.
So what I don't like here is that there is never this much outrage by the media when clubs normally cheat, for me, so blatantly.
>>
Make a spending cap for all teams. Its that easy
>>
>>157990642
Smaller teams won't agree to it because that means they can't sell their players for inflated price anymore.
Greed, anon, greed. It's a horrible thing.

>>157990633
That's fair, I think what you're actually missing is quite simple: the scale. To put it into perspective, if we scaled it according to Everton and Forest's point deductions then City should be deducted around 450 points.
>>
>>157990181
Anon they're about to be booted from the English football league. Next season they'll be playing against Scunthope and Aldershot in 800 seats stadiums.

>>
>>157990258

They complied with PSR though. They got those sponsorships specifically to comply with PSR.
>>
>>157991572
You'll be proven innocent in the appeal bro. Mansour had every right to create fake sponsorships to comply with the rules he was breaking.
>>
>>157989516
They broke the rules so that they could have a competitive advantage over everyone who didn't
>>
>>157989881
Leicester who broke Championship FFP rules to get promoted?
>>
>>157991915
No, they were fighting for the little man. Every title they won by breaking the rules for their own benefit was shared in by all the other clubs who were subjected to the tyranny of the Red Cartel.
>>
Just give every club a flat budget and let them compete with each other based on that if you want to make it fair. FFP rules were made recently specifically to try and keep the popular big clubs winning and making money while shitting on anyone else.
>>
>you have to have your money come from pajeets, towelheads, and chinks.... you can't have it come from one towelhead

Brits are eternal rulescucks that let their own children be raped en masse and didn't do anything about it because it would be against the rules
The fact that the red teams rose to dominance in an era without these rules and the current rules basically mean they'll get to spend whatever they want regardless of results is completely lost on them
The EPL is about to mirror the rest of the country and will enter a period of great stagnation
>>
>>157989516
The FFP rules are just a solution to fix a problem which should have never existed. Bosman’s ruling is the reason why club football turned into a billionaires’ playground. If you are gonna turn football into that might as well make it. entertaining. I want to see Musk buying Southampton and win the Champions League instead of the same 5 teams
>>
>>157996770

Leicester actually broke a lot of rules and it's an open question as to why they've never been charged over it.

There's no route to competing at the top without spending a lot of money and I mostly blame Arsenal and Wenger's lies about "player flipping" for insinuating otherwise.
