So, it happened AGAIN. We can blame injuries, we can blame fatigue, we can praise Spurs' effort but the truth is it's simply not enough. Tactics, determination, you name it, it all stinks.

Don't get me wrong, I still have full faith in Carrick and the lads, but MASSIVE reinforcements are desperately needed in January. Otherwise I'm not very optimistic about this season, or our chances in the Champions League for that matter. Not playing like this. What do you think, /mug/? #CARRICKIN or #CARRICKOUT?

He doesn't care. The goal is simple.

>Sir Jim wanted a big % but Glazers' said 'no'
>Kept reducing his % until got to 25%
>Was told the secret when he signed
>Goal was to use Sir Jim's contacts to get Burham to give the greenlight to buy land to build a new stadium
>Build a new stadium - using your 'mates' to justify it as an expense the public should pay due to its 'input to the local economy and community' - and make it 100,000 seaters
>wait the 10 years it takes to build, paying it off as you go, trying to get CL football all the time
>When it's built, you've got a cheaper wage squad, you've fired most of the staff, you now have a 100,000 seater stadium raking in £10m-£15m per game because it will always sell out
>you get more 'income' by selling concerts, attaching hotels and go-kart tracks and so on to it
>you show the 'profit' you're making to Qatar
>Qatar now have to pay £15bn instead of £8bn to get the club
>Qatar made to pay off the debt too
>Glazers and Sir Jim bail making huge profit

Club is ran in an idiotic way and it is no thanks to the bird brained fanbase that time after time gets distracted by shiny things

Fanbase actively campaigned for Ineos to stay at the club rather than sell up and this is what you get

Plus some truly horrific transfers in the window where the club hyped up sloppy seconds

And a manager out of his depth

And a captain who we are too reliant on to bail us out, and should have been sold in the summer
>>
>>158128920
This squad , manager , tactics are completely and now inherently broken . I don’t see a way out of it. The squad is being terribly managed while also being poorly constructed . So many in this sub has fawned over the transfers made but going into the season this wasn’t off the cards . The defensive group is so so poor and the lack of recruitment this summer in attack for any kind of depth was a disgrace. But sure we’ll sign defenders “next summer” . Unfortunately for a club stalwart , carrick is done here and just a question of who’s next .

It is very clear now why so many were against Carrick being appointed as permanent manager. It is like watching Boro 2.0

This is a complete humiliation.

The team looks worse now than under Ten Hag and Amorim FFS.

How can we look worse against 10????

We were playing against the worst Tottenham of the last 30 years.

As worse a performance possible for being level before the changes. The subs seemed to give us a lift, Baleba did everything right and Zirkzee was great in the 5 min period after coming on, I know the bar is low but it galvanised us. Overall a terrible performance, everyone was piss poor even taking tactics and set up out of it the players couldn't do the basics.

Midfield is the main problem they were all over the place, although the front 3 worries me too, particularly Mbeumo, he's been consistently poor for a long time now. I know he scored but still. Hopefully Baleba can continue to impress and give us some consistency in the middle. Martinez once again costing us because he's more interested in wrestling than defending. Everyone will blame the coaching and I don't disagree, but the players are just as bad in my opinion, some of this lot are simply stupid.

What the absolute fuck is that shape? For all of Amorim's faults (and I was firmly Amorim Out by the Grimsby game) at least he had a clear style of play and we'd see a clear shape in these graphics every game. What the fuck is Carrick doing? Pressing has been abysmal, off the ball numbers evaporated after carrick took charge. This very much feels like ten hags second season, leaky midfield and piss poor defence, with the exception of more talented forwards. Spurs outran us by a mile again today btw. Get this fraud out of the club before top 4 becomes unsaveable

If you put Bruno aside for a moment (so that emotion does not interfere) and simply asked yourself ‘what makes a midfielder’ - I suspect very little of it applies to Bruno. He’s on the pitch for almost the same reasons a striker is on the pitch. Did he impact the scoreline? Okay, perhaps he didn’t ‘play well’, but did he still find a way to impact the scoreline? He doesn’t really improve the performance of his team, and he doesn’t make his teammates play better. He, on a good day, improves the team’s output - but at the top level, you really need 3 in there to be contributing to wrestling the flow of the game in your team’s favour, not just two. He cannot dribble, hold the ball, head the ball, win the ball, defend. hes not fast, not strong etc etc. Connor Gallagher played as a 10 for Spurs today, and he of course cannot play some of the passes Bruno can. But he’s an actual midfielder and his team still controlled the game while he was on, and created far more chances than the team who had a player who, if given the chance, is better at playing a killer pass. Our philosophy is so outdated, and we just don’t seem to value the fundamentals of football, so we prefer to seek the shortcut of trying to get more stars than the other team and hoping that simple maths should win out. The problem with that is now we are broke, and we can’t afford all the stars now, and other teams have them too. We spent a decade searching for a hero. Trying to buy the player who will win us the league. Zlatan. Di Maria. Sanchez. Falcao. Cavani. Pogba. Casemiro. Bruno. While other teams got the right coaches and began building. Now we are miles off the pace compared to the others, and the solution is waiting for us whenever we are ready. We must go back to basics and instil principles that will control matches in and out of possession. We are so far behind the rest that we are now even getting frequently outplayed by 10 men.
>>
I'd just like to point out that a week before the season began there were LITERALLY United customers saying Bruno Fernandes should win the Balon D'or
>>
>>158131477
He is our main player and all those managers have tried to accommodate him in the starting line up. If you think our constant shit football over multiple years and multitude managers has nothing to do with the main player on our team then I can't help you. His body language all season has been terrible. One thing you could never question was his work rate or running (sometimes to the detriment of the team), but even that has been completely non-existent since the news of the stalled contract renewal talks came out. You just don't understand how Bruno destroys the team's harmony with that completely headless running and those Hollywood passes. There's a reason why Bruno has never been linked to winning teams. Plus, Bruno is the worst captain in the club's history. He's never been captain material really. He's a stroppy baby on the pitch when things aren't going his way and it effects his performances every time. One of the worst qualities to have when you are on the back foot. I'd sell him immediately if someone paid 30 million. He would never ever have been as important playing in any team that has any semblance of structure, because Bruno is a guarantee you will never control games in a way top teams control them. Bruno is type of player that makes you cede the idea of structure before the game is even started. And it has been like that ever since beginning. Opposition teams only need to play 3 midfielders against us and we immediately lose the midfield battle whilst Bruno is playing as a free role and we play 2 behind him. The way he plays demands the way we build up and attack revolves around him. Unless your peak Messi this type of privilege should never be afforded to any player at a top team; which we clearly aren't and never will be whilst he's the main man. Important to add, I'm not saying he's solely the reason why we've been shite for so long, but he's also a big problem and not the one ray of light that he's so often considered to be.

I agree , this has been by far bruno's worst game , I don't think he actually achieved anything in this game or the last few games for united for that matter. It just seems like united doesn't really know how to attack anymore, both goals against Tottenham and fulham were either a lucky deflection or individual brilliance . Bruno himself seems to have run out of ideas in some of the games which is why he just hoofs it into the box and prays. And lastly as you might have heard united is not physically strong enough which is why they struggle to compete, they probably need some time to get used to the league's physicality. This game could have gone a lot worse...
The first half was really embarrassing.

utd fans hate sir marcus now because he wanted to leave because they were shit and go to a bigger club. he achieved it, but ofc hes terrible so barca ditched him, then he came back and immediately started for them which removed their 'he wasnt good enough for us anyway' cope. so he thinks hes too good for them, was right, and despite that is shit. so i dont think anyone will defend him

Can't control a midfield with him. Never have and never will. Often just runs off on his one man press and leaves huge gaps behind. The fact he is un-subbable is also a massive problem. On his day he is wonderful, but it's getting rarer and rarer. He has far too many holes in his overall game. I'd go as far as to say while he has been probably our brightest spark over the last five years, he's also a big part of the reason we are a mid table club. Nobody should be undroppable based on form, even the captain. £100m from Saudi a proper club would have had their hand off and forced the move as it was the right time and a good bit of money.

The work rate often sees him pressing and chasing like a headless chicken, its not disciplined and often leaves huge holes of space in midfield. His desire to turn a game, he gives the ball away so often, So his biggest strengths are also his biggest weaknesses when its not going well and theres been many periods over seasons this has been the case, its always forgotten though when it clicks for a while and he is joyous.

Just feel despite the individual brilliance, right manager and tactics team could actually flow more consistently without his flaws
Deserves to be remembered with respect for what hes bought during tough periods here, but when i think of the likes of robson, keane, giggs, rooney, ronaldo, irwin, scholes, cantona, ruud etc...

The United cycle is fucking hilarious. There is no other team in the league that is so predictable in their failings as them. Keeping on Carrick as the stupidest and most pussy move they could have done. So now, Carrick will last for a while longer, but ultimately whether in 3 weeks or 3 months, he will be sacked. United will have another write off season. They'll either be forced to hire a 2nd rate manager mid season like a Howe (who is better than Carrick) or an interim and they'll make the same mistake again when he hits a bit of form. It's actual insanity watching this play out again and again

The best part is the constant false dawns which write off the next season, they have really perfected the cycle over the last 5 years:
>Ole comes 2nd (by 20 points, in the covid year, with a penalty every game) and is given more time, they suck (lose 4-0 to Brentford or something), he is sacked 2 months in and we get the Rangnick season. Rangnick is then barred from the club for calling it shit
>10 Hag has a good run for half a season and wins the league cup, before the 7-0 at Anfield, and finishing 8th the next season, playing like a relegation side
>but he won the FA cup so gets ANOTHER season, and is sacked 2 months in, we get the Amorim season: 15th and lose the Europa League final to Spurs
>this is good enough to keep Amorim in the job for another season which starts so badly (Grimsby) he is sacked 2 months in
>Carrick finishes 3rd (with less games than any season in history, 3-week gap between games, and playing pretty badly), is given more time
>worst start to the season ever (again)

Im actually at the point where I dont care who they bring in; Southgate, Howe, Conte, etc. It wont matter or make a difference whilst Berrada is ceo and Wilcox is DoF.

They have overseen 3 managers in 2.5 years and have overseen questionable transfers and changed the feel of the club (i still dont get how sacking 250 dinner ladies, magically gave us £80m to spend on Sesko)

Ten Hag was extended and then sacked because his performance dropped (14 in the league and poor in Europe) and Amorim was sacked because he called Wilcox out. Since neither of those are actually worse than where we are now and playing devils advocate here, Would it have been better to keep one of them on? Erik? Amorim? And let them work through the struggle and build something. Same with Carrick??

I remember very well what it was like under them and at the time agreed they should have gone, but erik did win 2 trophies and now it raises more questions.

And then the Ashworth shambles too. once that happened I went right back to resignation that things won't get better. All I saw with the Amorim hiring were two ex-City employees frothing at the mouth about signing a City managerial target, without any sort of due diligence around what the signing actually entails for Man Utd.

I have zero belief in the board or leadership that they are capable of turning this club around. At this stage, I believe it'll only be the result of something drastic that the club starts to restructure (full takeover or relegation as examples). Been hoping the City charges pull Berrada down but doesn't seem to be the case.

Looking at it, it has been 2.5 years of repeated, calamitous decisions, stemming from Berrada and Wilcox and Jim.

Which goes back to my original point. Who ever we get is fucked from day 1.

Wise. Playing Bruno immediately puts you on the back foot in both offense and defense because he doesn't do the fundamentals. People keep thinking that if you play the right players behind him it'll fix it, but that's just not the case, especially at this point in his career. He doesn't lead the team properly, he turns over the ball for nothing constantly, and he stifles both the team's options in tactics and any new players breaking through because he's too big to not play. If they give him a new contract, then the club is sunk for the next 5 years and won't even be able to start builing towards anything.

>buying the league
They didn't, actually. In that period, Newcastle actually spent more than United. At least between 1992-2002. United did cheat though, pretty sure Fergie admitted to 'bullying' refs to get favourable decisions.

What I dislike about United fans is their claim their owners 'don't back the manager' yet only City and Chelsea have spent more than them since the PL began. They argue the debt cripples them, which is a fair argument, but to claim they don't buy players is retarded. Wonga had to sell all his best players during the stadium build in their banter period and he said in his autobiography he actually became ill because he got told every season he had to sell his best players and he feared a player becoming good enough for City to come and buy them (and always at a knock down price, comparatively). Meanwhile United have never had a spell where they've sold their best and bought the likes of Chamak or Asano or Cygan or w/e crap Arsenal had.

They always repeat 'Glazers just take out they never put in' well they could have taken out a lot more. The players have just been bad, sorry. Liverpool bought Wirtz, Barcola, Isak and Ekitike, a front four that cost nearly half a billion. Outside of them pretending they're good, you don't see Liverpool fans claiming they weren't backed.
>>
>>158185426
United are just a different level. they were the bayern of england, they won the title 12 times in 20 years. of course other clubs are going to handle being shit better than them, theyve gone insane because they only picked them because they never lost. every other side had ups and downs so can handle being a banter club occasionally. they picked united specifically because they thought they would never be laughed at

Same reason as Terry regularly does videos about Arsenal, so much so that people always post 'But this video isn't about your club?' when he does a video about the team he actually supports (United). Arsenal are just popular enough you do videos to get (View)s. It works because rivals come in to shit on you, so you get money that way and Arsenal fans come in to see glazing.

Same reason why all the youtube 'personalities' shat on Arsenal for being 'boring' last year despite them scoring the most goals in the CL group stage, 2nd most goals in the PL and scoring more goals in total than Madrid, City, Bayern, Liverpool etc etc over the entire season. Because it got (Views).

yep, to understand man uniteds retarded decisions youve got to understand what the glazers and united hierarchy above carrick want for the club, what their aims are, what they view success as and what they look for in a player.
1.placate the delusional fans from africa and india
2.get major social media interaction, especially if they can create it into a window long saga
3.it makes them look like theyre still a big club

in a traditional sense united arent a football club. they dont prioritize winning, they dont need to win to make money. the fanbase is so massive that they can sustain themselves without prize money. how they operate is shilling man u branded crap to foreign countries fans, and sponsorships.

they use their social media interaction numbers to get sponsorships, and sign players who would raise that. infact the players are told that signing for united would increase their brand value and wealth, so only players who only care about fame and money rather than winning will join them.

because social media interaction is just a number, someone typing man utd are shit is worth just as much to them as man utd are good in regards to attracting sponsors. if theyre shit and the world is trolling them, it earns them more interaction /money. they are a marketing firm with a football arm

Lisandro Martinez Quotes (Apologies for any misquoted lines based on where we get the transcriptions from):

“The performance was poor, really POOR. I have to control myself.”

>"It mirrors our club currently. This isn’t a Champions League quality club.”

“I expected more investment in the summer. I have to be honest.”

>"I expect more from our technical director.”

If Michael Carrick was backed properly:

“I don’t think so. He did his best.”

"If you don’t change, next season it’s a big problem.”

"You keep changing managers but what about other areas? It’s easy to say the coach, the players, but also we have to see others, huh?”

>doesn't seem interested
>bought a midfielder for £50m who doesn't even play after cancelling a much cheaper midfielder for 'failed medical'
>still sign a player who is only just back from injury he had when you bought him for double the price... somehow passed his medical there
>go out of the league cup the first time of asking - again
>now have cl to deal with
>but your players barely coped with one game a week where they played shit but somehow lucked wins
>deluded fans keep repeating 'most points gained'
>deluded fans keep repeating 'PFA Player of the Year' and 'Assist Record' Bruno will be baller again (even tho vast majority of his assists were set pieces to Sesko, Casemiro or Maguire and also ignoring his record breaking assist came off a defender and wasn't an assist but the powers that be decided it was just to make united look good)
i'm sure united will turn it around when players fall off in other teams but lel.

because, surprisingly, there are 18 other teams in the pl that aren't city or united. because city systematically cheating for years upon years, putting in £1bn of illict money and admitting freely to them breaching the rules they signed and agreed to follow in emails and openly mentioning how they must hide it to avoid being punished and then when caught refuse to help and cry about 'red cartel' doesn't somehow make disliking the glazers and manure odd.

american billionaires are fine. watching boehly and glazers be retarded is funny

what isnt funny is nation states using our 100 year old institutions to sportswash their shitholes by financially doping and killing the sport
>>
kek they hate that we own their teams so much
we weaponize their league against foreigners in our own interest and they cuck to doing our bidding, hurting their CL odds against JFs in europe
