You have to admit it's bullshit. When the PL finally deal with City they should revisit EVERY ONE OF THEIR GAMES in the past 16 years, including TODAY'S, 3-0 is bullshit and DOES NOT REFLECT AN ACCURATE SCORELINE

If it was just spending money, why did they have to fake records? Apparently, they broke some rules some times. Like 114 times, I guess. You can argue that these rules should totally be different, but they exist - and City blatantly ignored them, they didn’t even do a good job at hiding it. So they should be punished hard
None of that changes that many other clubs are also doing shady shit and should receive punishment. Their fans shouldn’t complain about integrity in this perverse system. But they didn’t do it as blatantly as City, so City has to go first
>>
>>158168246
It's not City's fault that red cartel clubs are badly run and make horrific recruitment decisions even with the spending advantage they have over other clubs
>>
>>158168308
Literally every perennial EPL franchise and the overwhelming majority of aspirational perennial EPL franchises blatantly ignore said rules hence not saying SHIT about City doing it and letting them get off scott free lol.
>>
>>158168308
>why did they have to fake records
Records weren't faked, they had to route the money through a sponsorship deal because the PSR rules say you can only spend as much as you bring in in revenue and they regarded sponsorship revenue as part of that. Therefore if City want to raise their spending ceiling to compete with the top clubs they were incentivised under the current rules to increase sponsorship revenue which meant they made sweetheart deals with sister companies connected to their owners.

>>
>>158168718
>bogus revenue
It doesn't become "sham revenue" because you don't like where it originated. For the purposes of PSR, it's just revenue. There is no such legal term as "sham revenue" despite the PL constantly trying to push this PR phrase into the soft and feeble minds of their innocent victims (you).
>>
>>158168709
Haaland will do a stint in Shenzhen City for a year just to statpad

>>158168734
it's not a matter of what I like. It's literally connected to associated entities, which is obviously disallowed because otherwise this functionally could not be a rule. And as has been explained to you multiple times (which you refuse to accept), such a determination isn't unique to this case. It's been established tons of times in tax court, family law, and corruption cases across the globe and very pointedly in salary cap circumvention cases in the american sports. problem is, this was all news to you until a few days ago, and regrettably after you already made the cited post in which you didn't realize what you were admitting.
>>
>>158168734
also, nobody ITT said "sham revenue" you're quoting something repeatedly that wasn't submitted by me. And unequivocally, for the purposes of PSR, it's not just revenue.
>>
>>158168765
>sham revenue
That's what the PL's phrase is, and you were paraphrasing it by saying "bogus revenue".
>which is obviously disallowed
Please point to the relevant section in the PL handbook where it is explicitly disallowed.
>>
>>158168758
>It's been established tons of times in tax court, family law, and corruption cases across the globe and very pointedly in salary cap circumvention cases in the american sports
How many of these involved sister companies inflating sponsorship revenues in order to comply with PSR? Oh, none of them? Cool.
>>
>>158168788
I wasn't paraphrasing it, I was acknowleding the obvious issue of sourincg revenue from your owners when the whole purpose of calculating revenue is to limit owner capital injections. Not a coincidence that the PL uses a similar phrase to describe this. And to answer your question

"Rules E.56–E.73 (pp.137–143), Associated Party Transactions and Fair Market Value. These rules are the main controls on revenue.

The guidance at the start of this section says the aim is to stop clubs gaining an unfair advantage by inflating revenues through arrangements with entities linked to their ownership.
Every Associated Party Transaction (E.56) and every Threshold Transaction (E.61) must be submitted for a Fair Market Value assessment.
E.59.2 is the most direct rule on revenue in the calculation. Income from an Associated Party Transaction is excluded from revenue in Form 3A until the Board approves the deal.
If the Board finds a deal is "evidently not at Fair Market Value," E.69 applies. The Board sets what it considers fair value, and the club must end the deal or return any consideration above that value. Only fair-value revenue can support the club's figures."

Yeah and City already took the PL to court over APT and got the high court to rule parts of it unlawful and unenforceable. The exact same thing is going to happen here in the appeal.
>the whole purpose of calculating revenue is to limit owner capital injections
First off, that money stops belonging to their owners when it takes the route it does. It's not his money anymore. But this shouldn't even matter.
>Every Associated Party Transaction (E.56) and every Threshold Transaction (E.61) must be submitted for a Fair Market Value assessment.
This part of the APT was not part of the rules during the period under which City are being charged. FMV was brought in as a response to this case. You can't prosecute a club for breaking rules that did not even exist at the time they are accused of having broken them.
The whole issue with FMV to begin with is that the "Board" is setting price controls and preventing an actual market from forming. It shouldn't be up to them to decide what a contract is worth or not worth. That's picking winners and therefore breaches competition law.
>>
>>158168908

>>158168908

There would have been absolutely no issue from the PL if the invoices were not being paid in such a convoluted manner which suggested the majority of the revenue was not legitimate.

Manchester City is a club with super rich owners, it won many titles because they pulled financial shenanigans to hide that they went over the salary cap by $1.2 billion over a decade or so. They used financial engineering and shell companies to hide this. It was blatant and used obfuscation to hide their rule breaking to gain financial and sporting advantages
They were charged with 115 offenses and declared guilty of 114, but they contest it. Based on the punishments other clubs were handed for single offenses, City basically have to get relegated for it to be somewhat proportional
The thing City also cry about is that the financial system is indeed primarily catering to clubs that were already big before, City rose to prominence by cheating that system, so some people think they were justified. It still was a systematic breaking of rules and most people want them punished, that is clear

Why are Brits treating "Man City are proven cheaters" like it's a big deal?

Nobody is getting punished for it. It literally doesn't matter at all. "B-but they cheated! They broke the rules!" Who gives a fuck? Do something about it then

Oh wait, your favorite sports League won't do anything about it at all because your country is cuckolded beyond belief by oil baron brownoid Muslims? Then shut the fuck up about it, it literally does not matter at all. And actually, it was strategically well done by Man City to cheat and call the League/country's bluff.
