>NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T JUST SPEND THE SAME AS UNITED, LIVERPOOL AND ARSENAL
Why not?

Your money should only come from jews, not arabs.

The point of the case is that they didnt spend the same, they created fake companies to sponsor themselves to give themselves more money and paid for players and managers this way without disturbing the books.
Its like if you decided to get into heavyweight professional boxing tournaments as a fat ass and put horseshoes inside your gloves and then complain when you get told you are breaking the rules.

The Football Governance Act 2025 will stop Manchester City from leaving the top 5 tiers of English football and forming a new closed competition or Super League.

BECAUSE IT'S THE RULES
>>
>>158152569
it wasn't fake money though, it was real money. if they want to spend it, why shouldn't they be allowed? any rules being enforced here are only being enforced to punish a club for trying to invest in itself

Its real money that they shouldnt be allowed to spend, because it does not fit the scheme they are supposed to follow, like every other team. United spends like retards because they make a shitload of passive revenue, City did not have that, City had to invent it to justify why they suddenly had so much money despite not ever selling players for stellar fees and having a "tame" wage bill compared to United, Chelsea, Arsenal, etc.
You can argue the current state of FFP is bad, and i agree, clubs like Villa and Brighton have to sell off everyone good because the only way to prevent a player from leaving nowadays is increasing the amount of money they make a month since clubs managed by retards like the forementioned United and Chelsea will just wrestle the contracts and release clauses of their players off, and even if you get a shitload of money off selling players to those 2 you arent allowed to spend it all however you want, which is also stupid because again, the big clubs with the big budget can do whatever because of their revenue flow.
>>
>>158155470
By letting City do what they were doing which is magically spawning revenue out of thin air to compensate their big spending on signings and promoting their club and brand, you are being unfair to those clubs that need to sell everything and spend just the right amount to make it through FFP without suffering from a points deduction, a transfer ban among other things. Either rewrite the rules or punish the people violating them, its that simple.

City cheating has absolutely no negative effects on clubs that aren't title contenders already
The current rules make it essentially impossible for anyone that isn't the big six to compete
>but Leicester
They also cheated lol
>>
The reason of all this drama is easy: part of the marketing for the league was that Premier was the non farmear League an city dominannce made It look like Bayern or Barcelona in their League.
>>158152569
I doubt pool, arsenal , abramovic or US led Chelsea has a polished story in that departmen

They'd also have a better chance at European spots if there wasn't a protection racket for the rich clubs

They'll never change. They'll never change! Ever since 2008, always the same! Couldn't keep their hands out of the cash drawer! But not our City! Couldn't be precious City! Stealing them blind! And they get to be league champions? What a sick joke! We should've stopped him when we had the chance!

>it wasn't fake money though, it was real money
It was fraudulent money. I can respect the argument that the rules are wrong. What I can't respect is the idea that because the rules were wrong, City were justified in engaging in large scale, multi-year financial fraud to mislead regulators and auditors and misstate company accounts. The double contract arrangements they had in place with the likes of Mancini also constitute tax evasion. God knows how many people they did things like that with. There's a lot of smoke around Alf-Inge Haaland and Pere Guardiola suggesting it's something that didn't ever stop.

This is the problem with the City case. What they're being accused of is really fucking serious, potentially bordering on criminality. This is why their defence isn't that the rules are wrong so they were justified in breaking them - it's that they didn't do anything they're being accused of at all. You can't justify that level of wrongdoing on the basis that preventing owner financing in the first place was unfair on a sporting level. We're way beyond that discussion here.
>>
>>158181856
It's not serious at all and not criminal either. It ultimately boils down to "you aren't allowed to spend your own money".
>>
>>158151337
>>
can't believe people are sincerely arguing in favour of an english la liga with only newcastle and city competing for anything because their owners have infinite resources
>>

You can have a spending cap without tying the cap to revenue.

The spending cap currently in the premier league is 85% of your revenue, which allows the big, established clubs to spend more. This gives them a better chance of success and trophies, and more success generates more revenue. More revenue means they can spend more and it's and endless circle of inertia keeping the top clubs at the top.

Meanwhile for smaller clubs, they don't have as much revenue so they can't spend as much, so they don't see as much success and therefore don't generate more revenue. This limits their spending, and again, it's an endless circle of inertia keeping the mid- and bottom table clubs where they are.

The system is literally designed to keep the big, established clubs at the top and the lower clubs where they are.

Now imagine if you had a spending cap which was a fixed figure, e.g. $200m a year. Or perhaps you could set the cap at a fixed percentage of the revenue generated by the highest-earning club in the league in any given year. This would allow clubs which have the means to invest in themselves to do so, without allowing established clubs with big revenues or clubs with rich owners to unfairly outspend everyone else.
>>
>>158182467
it's either that or only red cartel winning. but at least in the former case, red cartel would actually have to compete on level terms instead of coasting by because the rules benefit them
>>
>lets just let brown dictatorships use our game to sportswash their 3rd world shitholes despite wanting to blow us up if they could
>>
>>158182467
The ownership lottery is available to everyone (even a club as small and unfashionable as Wrexham), unlike the commercial income lottery which was only available to teams who happened to be on top when it went massive. Neither are an ideal solution but one is clearly way more fair than the other. If red cartel fans want neutrals on board perhaps stop trying to claim snack manufacturer PR is a reasonable source of sporting advantage while Arab sport washing PR is not.
>>
>>158182420
>playing stupid
>>
>>158182467
Why are you pretending that the red teams don't also have infinite resources?
Should spending (and therefore winning) simply be decided by who can sell the most jerseys to brown people?
>>
>>158186230
That's what you're doing.
