I think the funniest bit of the Owners performative proposals for the next CBA is how many people they actually fooled into thinking it's "fair" and "reasonable". Reality is, you aren't going to get a "fair, reasonable" price on a car that the owner simply doesn't want to sell. The solution is full revenue sharing like the NFL does, with a hard cap and hard floor on payroll. No contracts longer than four years. No annual salary greater than 10% of cap. No signing bonuses. No deferred money. And if the player's union doesn't like it, I hope the owners lock them out until there is no longer a player's union. I am willing to go years without baseball if it means baseball is finally fixed the right way.
