Why there is a Mound? Why can't the pitcher play in the same level as the batter?
>>
>>158246720
if they had it level then no one would ever hit a homerun
>>
>>158246720
The height of the mound is precisely calibrated to optimize the pitching/hitting competitive balance

i drew a handy sketch here explaining the phyhsics of the thing

The mound used to be even taller, until they changed in 1968 because pitching was too good and nobody was hitting. It used to be 15 inches tall, now it's 10. If pitchers had a 15 inch tall mound now with guys like Misorowski throwing 105 mph, it would be insane.

Is an analogy to the sermon on the mount

They don't have this issue in Cricket. That's why baseball is a sport for the mentally challenged.

they also have flat bats though

Yes, the pitcher (the Lord) is "delivering" the pitch (the sermon). The hitter is trying to make it around 3 bases (the Father, Son and Holy Spirit) and finally make it home (eternal salvation and everlasting life)

cricket isn’t even a sport since DYEL jeets are competitive at it
