The fuck are these Halo ass helmets?

They're supposed to help prevent CTE though there is no concrete evidence that they actually do anything

I suppose it somewhat softens the impact, but I doubt it does much unless you put enough padding to looks like oj simpson in naked gun

It's the rotational force that causes CTE. Adding more weight around the head is bad.

Growing up is recognizing that football is a blood sport and people who worry about CTE are pussies. If they don't want to get hurt, they should not play a violent game. Violence comes at a price. It always has. But it's part of our culture. If you want to play football, you pay a price. Nothing is forcing people to put themselves at risk. People work jobs that are far more risky to your health. I don't give a fuck about people who are paid money to play a blood sport.

They're a placebo the NFL pushes to say "WE'RE DOING SOMETHING!" but at best it does nothing, there's some evidence pointing to it actually making head trauma worse.

These rugby helmets on top of football helmets are bad enough, but the contrast with the pads that are the smallest they've ever been is what kills this sport visually. Also the other guy said it : there is no safe way to play football or hockey or rugby. If you play long enough you're going to get fucked up.

Honestly in terms of brain injuries you can expand it further. Soccer, basketball, sailing, anything where you jostle a bit and practice in those conditions is going to lead to CTE.

Amen. These pussies don't even get exposed to deadly disease or people shooting bullets at them
