An institution shouldn't be punished for it's leaders. They should heavily fine the Abu Dabi group, and give them 90 days to sell the club, otherwise, they are kicked out with 0

>Erik ten Hag has accused Cristiano Ronaldo of "letting the team down" by failing to train properly during his ill-fated second spell at Manchester United.
>In an interview with The Athletic, Ten Hag's most ferocious criticism was reserved for Ronaldo, who was already back at Old Trafford when Ten Hag was first hired in 2022. "He let the team down, and he let me down, because we planned with him," Ten Hag said.
>Ten Hag has claimed Ronaldo "didn't prepare himself" properly for games. He allegedly pulled out of training sessions and did not get his heart rate raised to the required level when he did train, Ten Hag said. He also accused him of completing two of the three scheduled laps of the infamous run Ten Hag made his players do after they lost 4-0 at Brentford in August 2022.

Watching my local club brings me more excitement than man united lads
There's a match yesterday and i was pleasantly surprised how good we were.
Dominating the possession, always want to win every duels, most of the game is on the opponent's half and we ended up winning 5-1. Couldve been a cleansheet if we were more careful with their counterattack but it's insane how a club that finished so meh last season and is now fighting for the trophy under this new manager. The manager also utilizes our local lads pretty well too.
I thought why cant my man united do that?

the club is going nowhere under any manager at this point, the club would do much better if carrick actually had a proper conditioning in the preseason so none of this being outran every single game bullshit and injuries left and right when the season barely started.
not trying to push my meme local team but there's a stark difference when your players actually are ready to die for your manager so you could feel it when these fuckers run like hell, pressing opponents, keeping tight possession of the ball and winning every single loose ball and current man united simply don't have any of that. that's just the sign of players no longer trusting the manager sadly.

I think it's fair to say that Bruno Fernandes is the worst captain in Premier League history. He's a decent player, but as a person he is incredibly petulant, he actively defies the manager's order so he can play heroball, and he is responsible for player power getting out of hand at Man Utd. He's got the arrogance of John Terry, without the silverware to back it up.

Given the Martinez comments as well, it does feel like the players were given some grand vision during the post/pre-season briefing, only to see us pick up a couple of bargain-bin midfielders and make a panic decision to go for Baleba late on, completely neglecting the defense and lack of depth up front.

Seems we've once again been hampered by our complete inability to actually move anyone on.

I would expect the plan was to sell a few players to raise funds for the planned purchases, but the only player we actually got any real money for was Hojlund, and that was because of a deal negotiated the year before.

Rashford's still here, Zirkzee's still here, Onana is still technically a Manchester United player. I expect Ugarte was on the planned departure list before his injury.

I also wouldn't be surprised to find out that we were looking at selling at least one of Dalot/Mazraoui, one of Maguire/Martinez/De Ligt, and possibly seeing if they could get something for Mount (given his injury issues).

But the main problem is the fans calling all our players shit, other clubs see this and refuse to buy them
>>
>>158290926
That's been obvious for years. They were shite their entire history, then Busby came in, when he left they went back to being shite, then they got Ferguson who wasn't anything incredible but his successful years coincided with the PL money coming in so they got rich as fuck, now he's gone they're back to being shite again.
>>
>>158290932
It's happened before.
Jose finished 2nd and was given Fred, Dalot and Lee Grant to close a 19 point gap to City. Ten Hag won a trophy and finished 3rd, and by his own words, he was sold Kane and Rice and was given Hojlund and Ugarte. Rashford even alluded about this in an interview the season he gave up on us.

So I wonder what dream was sold to the players before wasting 150m on players not good enough to start.

Bruno subtly called out INEOS in his interview with Stephen Bartlett at the end of last season. INEOS promised the players that Amorim was here for a while because it’s a project and then sacked him because Wilcox got his feelings hurt.

I think the players were willing to suffer short term pain for long term gain under Amorim but the club/Jason Wilcox wasn’t willing to do that despite promising the players it so now we have most if not all of our senior players wanting out of the club.

The lack of investment in the summer after INEOS publicly said we were going to have a good window was the final nail in the coffin for the first team.
>>
>>158290932
>But the main problem is the fans calling all our players shit, other clubs see this and refuse to buy them
No, the problem is that all the players are actually shit and no-one wants to buy them. Arsenal had the same problem during the early Arteta era, they literally had to pay several players to fuck off early (like Mustafi and Willian). The only two "assets" they did have in the squad were Ozil and Aubameyang, and both of them had their contracts terminated early due to disciplinary issues, just so that they wouldn't infect the rest of the squad with their bad mentality.
>>
>>158290926
dave will hate it, but we really need to take a few steps back. He's right, we are not the Manchester United of the 90s and 00s anymore. We haven't been for a while. We can't keep talking about title ambitions every year, we're nowhere near it. We need to take a few seasons to clear out deadwood, high salaries and underperformers. That's both players and backroom staff. Arsenal did it and are reaping the benefits now. It's still possible, even with shitty owners. The people in charge just need to stop taking the easy route and make difficult decisions.

The fact that they are surprised by the players when they are the ones that recruited them says more about them than it does about the players. De ligt a player who Bayern were willing to let go for £50m at a prime age and has had a history of injury problems should be no shock has been plagued by injury problems since he’s been here, Mount a player that had injury problems the season prior to joining the splashed £60m on with a year left on his deal and has made 50 appearances in nearly 4 years, Yoro an 18 year old CB they paid £55m for instead of a CB at a better age profile who could hit the ground running. The list goes on and on….
