Wikipedia says it was indeed San Francisco, at least as sourced to a paywalled article. I figured it was Kansas City since that's who the Reds were playing that day.
Feels a little unfair considering most San Fran homos would cheerfully describe their city as one of the fag capitals of the world, same words.
It's even funnier to me that Brennaman went on to work for The CW, one of the fag capitals of television.
