I love the Bs of the PL - Brentford, Brighton and Bournemouth. They are humble clubs with modest support yet they are really well-run and regularly beat the crap out of the "big" clubs. Every year they are stripped of their best players by the big boys. Every year they find new ones and turn the big boys over. They are now getting so good they are edging some of the Big Six out of the CL places. Can they stay there? At what point will they be considered "big" clubs? What is the secret to their success? Who is your favourite?

Tourists and customers are more likely to get tickets for these matches when they play them, so for me it is very enjoyable to see the bermuda triangle rock up and ruin their big day out

Why are you 5th despite spending 400m this summer?
>>
>>158436832
Because we don't play until tomorrow
>>
I like they all have animals in the badge
>>
>>158436929
Then you'll love all the other team badges designed by the same guy. There's one guy who has basically cornered the market on football logo design now.

No wonder all your new crests look like absolute dog shit
>>
>>158436803
>beat all three
>still 5th

they only pay attention to those with a chance

you've made the fatal mistake of thinking you're in the mix now so they'll do you in the return fixture when it is the most devastating in your title chances and a mental blow to both the players and fans
>>
What IS their secret, anyway? They obviously have very good scouting set-ups but that doesn't explain how they mould these prospects into effective teams season after season.
>>
They shouldn't be allowed to do this well, its bad for The Brand. Have they even got any sponsors?
>>
>>158437059
Right one is so kino

Having zero expectations other than "stay in the PL"
>>

Not having to play 3 games a week.

As we saw with Carrick last season, football is a lot easier when you have 7 days to rest and prep for games

>pleasant southern locations instead of northern industrial towns to attract foreign mercenaries

>low expectations from the few fans they have

these teams are soulless in a different way.

Brighton have had a tougher schedule than any other team in the Prem, unironically

Incredibly based take
>>
What the fuck - Bournemouth's stadium has a capacity of 12,300. Brentford has a capacity of 17,000. Brighton is a relative giant with 32,000 capacity. How can these pissant clubs have got so powerful and surpassed many of the traditionally "big" clubs?

looks comfy though

also they're filling in the corners, expanding some of the stands back and building a new stand behind the goal

hope it retains some soul, far bigger grounds have less atmosphere and closing it all in would make it even better
>>

as long as stinky Burnley don't come back
Blackburn would be cool to see back
Bolton and Bristol also
not sure about Birmingham

>They are humble clubs
Bournemouth spent their way from L1 to the Prem in the most inorganic manner possible. Weren't they like £6m in the red PER WEEK when they were in the Championship due to their wild Russian-oil-tycoon-funded spending and lack of any income? Can't knock how well they've done since reaching the EPL, but they're about as humble as 2026 Aston Villa.

>>
>>158444589
Plenty of clubs have money and spend it poorly. If they spent it wisely then good on them.
>>
>>158436868
Liverpoo thinking they are title contenders LMAO.
>>
>>158436580
These small clubs go through phases like this, Swansea and Southampton were the underdog hipster teams of the 2010s, but it never lasts and they always end up returning to the doldrums from whence they came eventually
>>
>>158437898
CL regulars have massive squads they can rotate tho.
>>
>>158437983
btfo'd that clueless customer kek
>>
>>158458106
It really depends on having competent owners. These clubs seem to be run well but two bad transfer windows can easily undo all the good work when you are a selling club constantly replacing your top players.
>>
>>158438063
Every club in the PL has or are planning to abandon their hallowed historic ground for a huge soulless new bowl stadium.
>>
>>158438063
>pleasant southern locations instead of northern industrial towns to attract foreign mercenaries
They don't give a shit about anything but money. They have rich enclaves where they live and don't interact with the plebs.
>>
>>158444411
Those were ancient grounds designed for standing spectators. When seating was made mandatory they plummeted in capacity.

>>
>>158467607
They players definitely care. London is a shithole if you're poor but London as a millionaire is the place to be. Certainly preferable to Newcastle of Birmingham
>>
>>158467607
Liverpool and Manchester are dreary, rain-soaked shitholes full of drunks, drug-addicts and street-people but big names will sign for their clubs if they offer more than Chelsea or Arsenal.

>>158468268
Newcastle is actually rather nice but it is out of the way and poor.
>>
>>158444294
Ironic that Hull are a bigger club than any of them, historically, yet we'd take their position today in a heartbeat. I'm pleased for them
>>
>>158469628
>dreary, rain-soaked shitholes full of drunks, drug-addicts and street-people
In other words, cities in the UK
>>
>>158436580
Without PSR these three would be in title races every season and making deep CL runs. And Man United and Spurs would've been relegated years ago.
>>
>>158469811
I went to Crewe today. There are derelict buildings everywhere and you can see the decay. The high street is heartbreaking, but if you walk for five minutes, you can reach the giant retail parks and the shopping is actually pretty decent. They have a Hobbycraft which was based. But it’s just so grim. Still better than Bolton though
>>
>>158436580
i hate these data-driven soulless grifters
even crystal palace and west ham have managed to win something while the only claim to fame these teams have is good scouting
>>
>>158444294
>>158444327
God how i adore and love these "typical" British stadiums. They make me feel so warm and cozy...something so special about them...
Ever since i started watching/following EPL in the 90s, i've been fascinated by them!
Miss all the lost SOWLS like Highbury, Upton Park, Goodison Park, The Dell, Maine Road...they all were so cool!
These new soulless abominations will never ever get close to what these all these old timers had/have...the special something, the SOWL!

I want my teams to get lucky with great guesses. That way it's more authentic football
>>
>sign good player for cheap because of top-tier scouting network
>beat """big""" team with them
>next transfer window, """big""" team signs said player for massively inflated price and gets scammed
>repeat
Pretty based desu. Fuck these """big""" clubs that think they're inherently deserving of success because of their history. Nobody is owed anything in life ever.
