By far the easiest method, it has integrated dependency manager. You can install custom runners too.I install fitgirl repacks using application type bottle and make a new bottle and point to the new .exe using a gaming type bottle. Escape microsoft.
what fitgirl repacks did you get working? I tried the elden ring installer, it would not work through bottles and gave errors during installation. I also tried another game, it likewise would not work.
I got starfield to install. The installer and gaming bottles should _both_ have latest directx and 2015-2020 c++ redistributables installed. I did get a black window after the installer finished but that was just leading to the verifier. If you get a black window just restart the program occasionally it will happen but not always.
>>1377996I use proton. The other day I got Honey Select 2 betterrepach, made it work with BepInEx rather easy with a launch command option. Usually when installing something I "add a non-steam game" for the installer and then change the executable to wherever I installed the game, that way it uses the dependencies that were installed in that.. profile? emulation? when you used proton on the installer. Otherwise if you add again the game you just installed again as a new game in steam, it creates a new set of folders of windows without those dependencies. I almost got Artificial Academy 2 to run, but that bitch doesn't even run well on Windows.I guess it must be similar in Wine but I just understand how somewhat Proton works and got used to it. Other than games I barely use software that is Windows specific.
