>>96275908She didn't get anything in the LIGHT booster, and didn't get her second wave a couple sets after the first, so she'll probably have to wait a long time for new support. Materiactor waited iirc 8 years for it.You can cope on yosenju (strictly going second) or regenesis (has plays for both) in the meanwhile, since they either get around the extra deck pendulum lock or flat out don't care about it, but the kicker is that Nemleria seldom hits the field. Restricting her summon until the next turn completely killed the deck, as you can now empty it with just pot of extravagance, gordian slicer and reveil.
>TCaCI'll repost a rough idea I had for an old pendulum monster I penned a while ago.Unmarked Coffin in a Foreign Land>[Level 1/WATER/Aqua/Normal]>[ATK 1000/DEF 0]<Pendulum Scale: 0>>[Pendulum Effect]You can use cards in your Pendulum Zones as material for the Synchro Summon of a WATER Synchro monster. "Ice Barrier" monster effects can treat this card as an "Ice Barrier" monster you control. >[Monster Text]An unmarked casket, found chained in the grasp of a fallen knight.. Though his name has been long forgotten, his duty is not over.(This card is always treated as an "Ice Barrier" card)The idea behind it was to give them their archetypal Predaplant Verte Anaconda, that can just work in a lot of WATER-adjacent decks. It was originally written before Lancea dropped and was intended to help them unbrick.
>>96283029Also, the joke is that it's the shitty token that Royal Knight makes on your opponent's field
>>96283029>Predaplant Verte Anaconda* Predaplant Triantis, who allows you to use cards in your pend zone for a DARK Fusion Monster's summon
>>96282115I’ve seen people pair shaddoll with Draco tail. Is that a meme build or should I look into getting the shaddoll cards?
https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/133674351
>>96283843The real secret meta will be Flame Swordsman Draco Tail
>>96283843Do you mean a full Shaddoll package, or a "Look Ma! I summoned Winda on turn 0!" package?
>>96283922Don’t give me hope
>>96283843running 3 beasts, winda, and siding shaddoll fusion is a build that people have kinda settled on in the OCG.
>>96284290nta but i tried it and it just adds too many normal summons and s/t cards. i was often bricking because i didnt have enough monsters in hand to fuse, especially with faimena turn 0.
>>96282115>TCaCI made a new wave of 7 lswarms a while ago so I'll post em now I suppose. I tried to focus on fixing the consistentcy of the deck as well as encouraging players to actually use some of the older lswarms that have never seen any real play.I put the art as whichever DT monster corrupted by the virus they're supposed to be.For a boss monster this guy is pretty self explanatory, basically a harder to summon but stickier Detonator that gives you some follow-up.
>>96285034The lock and scale 4 are here to stop you from using a Pendulum Summon as another extender and to hopefully keep this card out of the Pend-Slop deck.Ideally you'd be Tributing this thing for a Steelswarm Moth, or using it with O'Lantern and Ketos.
>>96285053This is the 2025 Konami mandated in-engine handtrap. He's level 6 because I thought shitting out 2 free 4's at quick speed with no lock was a little too strong, as well as giving it a little Fiendsmith synergy.
>>96285069I wanted to give the deck a Maiden of White for a filtering card, as well as an Orcustrated Babel, giving you a reason to play O'lantern and Ketos as well as letting you extra normal with Kerykeion on your opponent's turn.
>>96285083Having a Noellia retrain seemed like a no-brainer, and the card advantage was something the deck really lacked before.
>>96285097Cards that are endboard pieces going first but also extenders going second are a favorite of mine.
>>96285109Last one. Purely an endboard piece. The recursion on both Quick-Plays was my attempt to fix the grind game of the deck.
>>96284523Clearly you just need to tweak the numbers a bit and it'll work fine
This feels closer to correct. Went down to 40 cards, cut Lightstorm because it doesn't come up, Droll because it conflicts with Charmies, cut Called By because hand traps don't matter to us with all our extenders, and added more Veilers for Mausoleum summon. I'm iffy on Terraforming because it plays into Droll for no reason. I also want to have at least 18 hand traps in main, but I'm short right now.I have an SP Little Knight and a Typhon in the mail but I'm not sure what I'd cut in extra to make room
>>96285525-2 Veiler +2 Belle or +1 Called By and +1 NibVeiler is minimal impact against most decks right now and isn't even worth including aside from the fact that you can search it. Belle helps you not get raped by Lupus, Arthalion, or Yummy synchros responding to you doing stuff.
>>96286916I agree with that, I have enough starters and Veiler is too weak
Justice Hunters seems to be selling well but holy shit there are SO many boxes of Duelist's Advance and Alliance Insight still lying around everywhere that sells cards near me.
>>96287485went to buy JUSH at walmart and it's all empty
>>96287485i mean, it has like 2 meta relevant cards and they're both ultras. you cant expect the gambling addicted card gamers to buy a booster box where you need to pull a starlight to make your money back in one card.
I've been having so much fun with tag force special that i missed out on a day of gems in master duel, which isn't really a big deal, but since i'm scrounging up resources for ryzeal i really shouldn't be skipping on dailies. This is what i'm running right now, it's a shitty EARTH machine deck, basically you spam level 4's until you can make GGX, then you search tin goldfish to summon a generic R4NK (including motherfucking shock master), or gearframe to search fortress.Sometimes you actually get two level 7's on board, which allows you to xyz summon big eye (monster steal) or dracossack (can pop cards, can't be dealt with unless they deal with its tokens first), but that's basically it, it has no fancy combos or convoluted playstyle, it just generates resources and uses them appropriately.None of my monsters are particularly big, but fortress can "trade" with anything by ramming itself into it, and i have quite a few tools in the extra to deal with a lot of threats (silent honor ark, castel, exciton, roach, blackship of corn) that i can't or don't want to run over. Still, i'm packing a shit ton of removal because the AI can be incredibly gay at times, 1 dark hole and 1 heavy storm isn't enough. The only thing that i'm missing is a R4NK that works like utopia the lightning, basically anything that can't boost itself to close out games, but AFAIK there's nothing like it that came out in the early years of pendulum. Not sure what i'll build next, probably qliphort since i'm also building the deck irl, even though it was slow and bricky 10+ years ago.
Hello. I plan to duel casually with my friend so I'm looking to buy structure deck without spending too much cash.Would 1xThe Crimson King vs 1x Blue Eyes White Destiny be a good matchup for a casual play?
>>96290311id probably go structure deck fire kings over crimson king, crimson is a lot weaker than white destiny so i wouldn't recommend it if you want close-ish games.
>>96290401Thank you for your answer!I would still like to buy Crimson King in the future though, any good suggestion for 1x structure deck to pit it against it for a balanced matchup?
>>96290604Legend of the Crystal Beasts or Cyber Strike are both pretty close in power level, they're all pretty terrible
>>96290311Some anon recommended me Speed Duels to introduce people who don't play and it went really well at our weekly game night.
>>96292218I might(?) have been this anon? But yeah, a Speed Duel box would be the easiest way to do it if you want to play casual games with people that generally don't interact with the game. I wouldn't go so far as to say that they have the same level of power since no decks are really created equal, but the mechanics in that stage are simple enough that you don't need to explain much to a newer player. If you want to play with up-to-date mechanics and don't mind constructing the decks instead of buying structure decks, you could build the Tactical Try decks that they dropped in the OCG a while ago.>https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Tactical-Try_Deck:_Decisive_Strike_Cyber_Dragon>https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Tactical-Try_Deck:_Eldlich_the_Conqueror>https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Tactical-Try_Deck:_Evil%E2%98%85Twin_the_Kaito_PairTweak them on an as-needed basis. These ones are designed similarly to the (relatively-)new BEWD deck, where they ship with a playable set of cards out of one box. They also have a format based on these releases>https://www.yugioh-card.com/japan/event/tacticaltryevent/tl;dr>Take Tactical Try deck>Use at least 30 cards from said decks>Import cards until your Main Deck is exactly 40 cards (41-60 is not allowed) and your Extra Deck is at least 10And to answer your original question; Any structure deck released between Cyber Strike and Legend of the Crystal Beasts have relatively close power levels in a vacuum. You could maybe go so far as Crimson King, but I think that things start getting more complicated after the Fire King deck.
last time i played was when i was a kid, and i stopped a bit after pendulum summons came out. i want to get back into playing, i have probably close to 1k random misc cards but i assume most of them are completely useless. i'm looking for a deck that i can learn with and one that's strong enough to compete at a LGS without spending $500 for a deck. one of my coworkers plays a branded tearlaments deck which is apparently pretty strong, so i'd like something that can compete with that as well. any suggestions?
>>96293842What do you need to learn? You seem to have most summoning mechanics down except for Links, so presumably you just need something to ease you into the game's current momentum?Invoked BEWD is a decent budget build for getting a feel of how everything in the current format connects. BEWD got a pretty substantial buff as of their most recent structure deck, to the point that mixing it with Primite (expensive engine that utilizes Normal Monsters for recursive interruption+removal) made them a meta threat on their own merits (contrary to the last time it was """"meta"""" because of Spirit Dragon). The deck natively covers all ED summoning mechanics, but typically won't Xyz Summon unless as a last resort. You could also build Kashtira Regenesis (engine that respectively farts out monsters when you control no monsters and when you have a monster with 2500 ATK or DEF *somewhere*) for pretty cheap. It only really balloons in price after you get Mulcharmies into the mix.
>>96293842Branded tearlaments is a meme without kitkallos, play blue-eyes like everyone else, 3 structures and a handful of cards is enough to get the deck going.
>>96293214 >And to answer your original question; Any structure deck released between Cyber Strike and Legend of the Crystal Beasts have relatively close power levels in a vacuum. You could maybe go so far as Crimson King, but I think that things start getting more complicated after the Fire King deck.I hate to be that guy anon, but there's only 1 structure deck that was released between Cyber Strike and Legend of the Crystal Beasts: Albaz Strike, which just so happens to be one of the most competitive structure decks ever made.
>I'm sorry, does your combo require five (5) or more special summons?>Heh, well I've got a surprise for you, buddy...
>>96294833Link the token into Link Spider, SS this Yummy name from my hand, Synchro 2 for Lollipo Way, activate effect. Do you have a response?
>>96294833>Summoning more than 3 times a turn? I'm disappointed in you anon.
>>96294793Oh sorry, you're right. I meant Cyber Strike thru Traptrix.>Albaz Strike, which just so happens to be one of the most competitive structure decks ever made. It's also one of (but not *the*) weakest ones if you're looking at things in a vacuum. Albaz Strike came with a very rudimentary Branded core, and that's about all the only thing it was good for. The only play they realistically have is bringing out Mirrorjade, which Legend of the Crystal Beasts, Dark World R, and Beware of the Traptrix have checks for that they don't need to go very far out of their way to use.>Rainbow Bridge of the Heart to bounce>Grapha and Bigfoot's removal since the SD doesn't have Branded Opening to protect. Fusion Grapha can also swap the effect away.>Pudica to remove Mirrorjade, followed by Rafflesia's protection since they aren't going to be able to OTKJust a few going second options off the top of my head. Going first you get more options to play with, since Crystal Beasts have a searchable counter trap and Traptrix is well, Traptrix. Your options for checking Mirrorjade are tighter for Dark World in comparison, but you at the very least still have Fusion Grapha's effect swap.Yes, I have done SD duels before. It's pretty neat to see how different these things are without outside interference.
>>96294833On this topic, I’ve heard people say to play around Nib or end your combo if you think you’re going to get Nibed. How do you do that in a vacuum? Do you try and keep track of if they’re counting your summons or is it more of deciding how lucky you feel gambling that they don’t have it?
>>96294927honestly, if you're trying to be competitive, you should not be playing a deck that doesn't have either: a monster negate you can consistently put up before 5 summons, or a way to keep playing if you get nib'd.in terms of how that actually plays out. every time you go to take a game action you should be considering what you're going to do if your opponent uses a handtrap right then. you shouldn't just be playing around nib, you need to be looking at your hand and trying to play around, bait, or force as many handtraps would put you in a losing position as possible. blindly following a combo spreadsheet is not how you should be playing the game unless you're new.
>>96294927You make inferred guesses depending on what handtraps you've seen from your opponent so far. For instance, if you see Dominus Purge, it's very unlikely they're running Impulse, so light monster effects are still on the table, but the main deck that plays Purge right now is Yummy who usually doesn't play Nib, so you can take the calculated risk that your opponent probably doesn't have it.If you see a main phase chain'd Fuwalos instead of a shotgunned Draw Phase one or you get Drolled on your first search, you can infer they're not playing Impulse and so on and start considering what decks usually match that profile of non-engine cards to decide if it's worth taking the risk of Nib relative to your hand, extenders, time left on clock, and so on.
>>96294927>or is it more of deciding how lucky you feel gambling that they don’t have it?This is the correct answer and any other answer is pure copium. The only thing you can really do regardless of whether or not you know your opponent is running it is set up a negate before your 5th summon. The only thing you can really do outside of that is read your opponent themselves, but your opponent can be bluffing you in real life no differently than someone that turns off the chain prompt in an online sim.
>>96295265wouldn't (because it would probably hurt a lot)
>>96295266cant you just get some anti burn tech?
>>96294927If I'm playing something like a fiendsmith engine where I know I'll be able to pivot into a secondary engine after the nib I just let that engine absorb the handtraps and the nib.If I'm playing non-meta or a pet deck, I keep the play low, put out a negate or something to stop the nib, or play straight into it. If you stop early in a lot of low power decks you might as well scoop because the board won't do anything. If you play into it, as in, go about the combo without over extending, the next best thing is to now protect the token. I've won games handtrapping any monster that could get over the token given to me. Once it passes back to your turn with a 3-4k Nib token you, in a way, turn the nibiru into an advantage.
>>96290311Anon who posted this here.I decied to buy Speed Duel GX: Duel Academy Box instead. Thanks fellas for your input
>>96297364Speed duel products are probably one of the most fun sealed products for casual play. A group of mine recently bought 1-2 boxes each of the Battle City finals one and had a blast making regular decks to play with.
What will be the availability of 'Legendary 5D's Decks' when it comes out? Will you need to get multiple copies of it to get the full power version of each deck (not including non included staples) that could compete with 3 copies of the Jack deck minus the banned card?
Cute!
Just noticed this weird misprint in the name.Think it's worth anything? Do you guys have any cards with typos in your collections?
>>96300650>sold for $2.44 on ebay I'm a dollaraire!
>>96300650I really don't see a misprint.
I wish I had that innocence of a kid opening a pack of cards and thinking I could pull any card possible not knowing about card lists and shit. Now I look at a card list for a pack and I would rather just buy the 10 cards I actually want for $20 instead of spending $120 on a booster box. I don't collect to play competitive either, I just want to collect the cards I like. I think watching Ruxin burn $1000 on a tin and then scream over getting a $40 holo has really made me realize how big of a scam packs are in general.
>>96301293Re-read the post and then re-read the post again.
Retards:>Charmies are better than Maxx 'C' because they nerfed the effectIntellectuals:>Maxx 'C' was better than Charmies because you didn't need 3 full playsets of 3 expensive cards
>>96301605Charmies are better than Maxx "C" because you are able to draw 2 every time Fuwa's conditions resolve though.
>>96301605charmies are better than the roach because they take up sidedeck slots that would otherwise be used for floodgates
>>96300198Supposedly these decks are a little bit better from the blurb we've got about it so far, namely having multiple copies of a card. I would anticipate you'll probably still need a second one because they'll probably do something like 2 copies of a very important card you would want to play at 3 still.I'm sure you can find this thing no problem once it comes out and you give it a week or less for stock to come in or for it to satisfy the rush upfront demand. Worst case you have to go on like amazon, pay a few dollar markup, and it comes to your doorstep in like 2 days or you buy it on TCGplayer, paying under MSRP, but have to wait a week or two. I plan to just go by my LGS and Im sure they'll have it. They're basically forced to stock it.

>>96305562I'm not your bro.
>>96305567That's why I didn't ask (you)
>>96305562I wouldn't be surprised if Branded Fusion goes back to 3 next list. It really depends on what exactly it adds that decides if it makes Branded relevant again; ideally more Quem-quality engine pieces.
>>96304656>normal summon stego>use its effect to blow itself up, foolish misc and summon 2 megalo and 2 aeolo>tribute aeolo for stego>synchro summon velphito using stego and megalo>tribute the other aeolo for stego again>synchro summon astero, set volcano>banish misc and velphito to summon petit>blow him up with volcano to summon stego, summon meteorus off of petit>synchro summon another astero, set jurrac impactEach astero is a special summon negate and a meteor summon, he's SOPT by the way. When the opponent fields his monsters, you flip impact to summon meteor and blow up his board. If he keeps summoning you use volcano to do it again. You can banish an astero from GY to do it a third time if need be. Don't forget to summon aeolo from GY after you're done nuking the field, so you can tribute it for stego and rebuild your board. Stego also has an effect (it bounces a card), so astero + stego + volcano/impact is also a perfectly fine endboard.Unfortunately the deck is missing a key piece in the TCG (a level 6 synchro dinosaur), so double astero is your best endboard, but once we get said card you can end turn in 2 astero and UCT, however it's still better to save him for next turn. And much like normal dinosaur, your combo line depends a lot on the cards you drew, for example you can also end turn in astero and dolkka/laggia if you want. The deck is a blast to play AND it's cheap, so don't sleep on it. There's nothing quite like negating a labrynth player over and over again, then destroying his set cards before he ends turn, prompting him to scoop in a rage.>>96304667Shut the fuck up.
I had this card back in the day and I lost it on vacation somehow when I was like 11.
>>96307250>lostIt was stolen by your friend who went on to top tournaments.
>>96305562We don't know jack shit about the decklist yet so it's impossible to tell besides pulling a guess out of my ass.Based on the DOOD(?) support we've seen so far it looks like they're focusing more on the main deck. But again, we don't know of any exclusives coming in it so it's hard to say. They hqve been putting good cards in these decks at least so whatever angle they go for will be fine at least.I hope they don't touch branded fusion at all with the deck. Fuck that card. Not only for the FTK stuff but because people over-fixate on the card and it prevents anything interesting from being done with the general Branded archetype besides Branded fusion turbo. I'm fine with them fusion summoning, I'd love to see them do anything but ez-bake fuse from deck.In fact, I hope if they make Branded fusion the crux of the deck or it makes it retroactively much better that it's all it's busted as shit so we can finally ban that stupid card and people can stop riding it.
>>96305562It's more or less a watered down version of the "story of white" that japan got, which had 1 of each branded card (EVERY single one, including swordsoul, dogmatika, etc), an artbook and 4 new alt arts for cartesia, ecclesia, albaz and aluber, plus that one new fusion that you can't even reliably fuse in this deck. From the description, it has 50 ultra rare cards and a random secret out of 6 (can also be a starlight), which isn't even half of what white chronicle had. HOWEVER, the random secret card being 1 out of 6 means we're probably getting those "old" alt arts in a lower rarity plus another 2, probably for fleur and quem or kitt. It's also $20, meaning it's absolutely not worth it even if you want to build the deck unless it has the bystials as well (namely lubellion), as you can get 80% of a branded deck right now for slightly less. Still, if you want to play brandon when this structure releases, i suggest you buy your LADDL in advance, because it's absolutely going to cost a lot more afterwards, 'member how sifr went from $5 to $50?
>>96306575Thanks anon, I opened a few too many BLMM packs and realized I didn't have to spend too much on singles to put together the rest. Gonna try it out at locals when it all gets here.
I haven't played since I was like 14 but I gotta admit, seeing some of my cards such as red dragon archfiend getting their structures does get me the itch to drop 30 bucks to get 3 decksI would have no one to play them with, but I would feel happy knowing they are in my shelf. All my old cards were lost when I had to move.
>>96310630I'd say if it brings you joy even as a collectable that you have it built then go for it.Maybe consider waiting until this year's megatin set list are completely spoiled to see if there's any reprints of the cards and it drives card prices lower and you can just assemble what you want from singles. The cards are all like a dollar or less already but they might make them in fun rarities if thst matters to you.It also gives you time to think on it and decide what's best.
>>96310702I should add, I wouldn't exactly expect reprints for fun rarity bumps but since it wasn't in the 2024 tin it could be in the 2025 one. The tin reveal dripfeeding is going on right now and it drops Sept 4th so you'll know in only a few weeks if they are or not.

>>96322943It's a pretty good movie, gorgeous visuals aside.>kaiba wanted to be the one to send atem to the afterlife, both because he wants to be the best duelist, and because he feels like owes it to him (atem made seto the pharaoh after sealing zorc)>kaiba stops being a heckin' based atheist, which lets him call upon the one egyptian god that serves the pharaoh>yugi demonstrates that he will grow to be even stronger than atem>kaiba finally shows yugi some respect after he gets meme'd on with the exact same play atem did (negating monster reborn)>kaiba somehow manages to either travel back in time or travel to the fucking egyptian afterlife to duel atem one last time, regardless of his fate and outcome of the duelIt's a shame sera technically the last takahashi "heroine", and the mad lad managed two sneak two of his fetishes into her design: loli and dark skinned women didn't get a lot of screentime, she just appears before yugi to give him a piece of the puzzle, and then near the end to cry after her brother gets btfo.>hurr you're just a pedoYes, but TRANSCEND GAME made a big deal out of her, you'd think she'd have a lot more screentime in the movie, but nope, her brother gets the spotlight instead.
>>96323051sera sex
really?
>>96323051It's Egyptian Afterlife. If it was time travel, Atem would not have recognized Kaiba, and the cube has only demonstrated ability to travel spatially, not temporally.
>>96323326It's time travel if you consider Duel Links canon to the continuity. For which you could unironically make a strong argument for, given what happens in Duel Links' story.
>>96323364* ALSO time travel
>>96315928GagagigoGiga GagagigoGogiga GagagigoThey're all decently stated for 4/5/8 monsters and you can include a small strategy by including "A Legendary Ocean" that allows normal summoning Giga Gagagigo. While not a normal monster, Exiled Force can be good to add for reasonable removal, Goblin Attack Force and Dark Elf are some good classics as well. Old Vindictive Magician and Man-Eater Bug are other removal, and a similar bit of interaction is present with Tsukiyomi and Book of Moon.If you have a decent array of removal, could put in Mausoleum of the Emperor, as while it's past the cutoff, it does provide an opportunity for those bigger dudes to be summoned more often.
>>96323364I don't consider Duel Links canon because I have never found a good archive of what happens in there anywhere, thus making it incredibly easy to be completely lost when the game shuts down. It's like the Cross Duel stories. Did they exist? Sure. Anyone store them anywhere? Fucking barely at most. Thus, very easy lost media that it's hard to find any truth on.
Incredible. That was absolutely worth watching. Thanks to random anon for recommending it.>>96323051Why was Kaiba so against the idea that Yugi is stronger than the Pharaoh? >hurr you're just a pedoSera cute and all the girl magicians. Plenty of all kinds of fanservice here.
>>96322075dont listen to >>96322590bonds is decent, its nothing mind blowing but its got some great judai moments like him using his yubel/haou powers to summon neos irl to fight cyber end dragon
>>96323468kaiba hated that yugi beat atem when he wasnt there most likely. feels like he thought that atem gave yugi the win.
>>96323468>Why was Kaiba so against the idea that Yugi is stronger than the Pharaoh? He just couldn't believe it, DSoD follows the continuity of the manga and kaiba wasn't present for the ceremonial duel, because all the egyptian stuff (including him being the pharaoh's successor, and his beloved blue-eyes being his old not-quite-lover kisara) was bullshit to him, so he never witnessed yugi beating the pharaoh.Keep in mind that atem quite literally can draw any card he thinks he might need (he doesn't draw the perfect counter every time, he draws whatever he thinks will help him), so all those bullshit 3-4 card combos he pulls to summon the egyptian gods are about as consistent as your average snake-eye deck before the hits, and yugi doesn't have any powers whatsoever and no real strong cards besides gandora (a board nuke that drains your resources) and silent magician (needs several turns of setup, and is just a glorified beatstick). For literally anyone else, beating the pharaoh is impossible. Hell, yugi himself had to think outside the box to beat him, since the gods are untargetable and unaffected, meaning he needed cards that avoid doing both things. It sounds like plot armor, but it's actually not too crazy these days, i've shat on quite a lot of people irl with evenly matched and daruma karma cannon because they affect the PLAYER, not the cards themselves.
Are there any good link-2, link-3 or link-4 generic endboard pieces besides apollousa, avramaxx, masquerena and elf? 2 of these are banned in the TCG, avramaxx is technically not meant to be summoned when going first, and quick linking into s:p/unicorn on the opponent's turn got old already. The link-4 can be a 3 material one. These "leftover" materials are specifically a link-2, a fusion and an effect monster. Neither is a tuner, and their levels don't match or add up to 10 ie no chaos angel, even if they are the right attributes for it.>just link into moon and go full fiendsmith combo, retardMaybe after it gets reprinted, i bought my engraver playset in advance already. However, that still leaves me with two link-2's on board, as sequence can equip itself from GY.
Do people still play Yu-Gi-Oh! ? Is there a video game version?
>>96324117It would help a lot if you weren't cryptic and posted the actual monsters you have on field to work with rather than a vague description of them. Although if I had to guess you're playing chimera or flame swordsman. Not to mention I don't know what possible locks you might be under.Because with so little info I'm just going to tell you to make IP/SP. Who cares if it's "old", it's generic and good. No need to try and be special OC donut steel about it by making some glorp shitto that does worse than SP. There is that new "skill drain on legs" gorgon link 3 that negates that 3 upward arrow zones it points to I guess.Maybe skulldread if you can add a decent body mid play and then cheat out with it? Again I have no idea what Im working with. There's the topologics and borrels if you're really that desperate. Borreload is an asshole to get over for many decks still and can get you to turn 3.Fiendslop already covered. You could make the link 2 and a guy into a Reprodocus and then modify the last guy into a cyberse assuming it's level 4 or lower, because again I don't know what we have, and then turn it into linguriboh as a trap negate.
>>96324741Have you been living under a rock for the last couple years? Has Master Duel somehow not shown up anywhere? It's a free-to-start official client but it's pretty fair with how generous it is and crafting system. But konami has really started laying it on thick with how many URs decks need now and it's hurting your dust wallet and demanding your real wallet. If you want a free-free simulator there's EDOpro which is so efficient that it can run on a toaster. It's the gold standard for simulators If you don't mind the visuals being very straightforward. If you want something that's a bit more polished there's YGOomega which behaves identically. Only thing it asks is that you log in with a Discord account to keep track of ELO for ranked matchmaking and "rarities" that are purely cosmetic that you can buy with points from playing ranked. If you're autistic just make a burner Discord account for the sole purpose of this.MDpro3 is like a fake version of Master duel built off of an existing client. I don't exactly know why you would want to use this one except if you specifically like the layout of master duel. The way you have to set up lobbies to play is retarded however. It's not bad but it's not necessarily my favorite recommendation.Everything else don't bother with unless you hate yourself or something. Hell, EDOpro runs on android phones. There's really no excuse to use something like dueling book these days. You can find all the relevant links in the op.

>>96315928My cube has 1-3 playsets of these>Axe raider >Gemini elf >Vorse Raider >Summoned Skull >Insect Soldier>Darkfire Soldier 1 and 2>Harpe's brother>Archfiend Solder>Battle Ox>Mad Dog of Darkness>7 colored fish>Neo the Magic Swordsmen>Dai Grepher>Luster Dragon>Island Turtle, Spirit of the Harp, Mystic Elf, Giant soldier of stone for 2k defendersThat should give you a beater for every possible deck type and 1700 is what I consider the baseline for "decent". Any lower and people will feel like they got duds. Only exception would be stuff like Great White and Man Eating Treasure Chest for field spell oriented decks, but that requires the whole cube to get changed because then you have Mystic Plasma zone boosting Mechanical chaser and Vorse Raider over 2300-2400.You can also opt to throw in stuff like Mystic Horseman to fusion summon with Ox for Rabid horseman. Lots of stuff to consider depending on how "Boomer" you want it. Mine has 1800+ cards that I sort through the week prior to bringing it out so its all relatively on par with either Yugi/Kaiba or Goat format.
>>96325024Oh fuck me, apparently i didn't mention which deck i was playing, but it's shaddoll. After doing my combo i have cross-sheep, construct and some other level 4 (usually tamtam, to fetch poly if i needed it to fuse) on the field just sitting there doing nothing, and i need to link off construct to add schism back to hand.In master duel i just use the materials for desirae and a 2 material apollousa, but this girl is illegal in both paper formats now and i don't own the fiendsmith cards irl, so that's not a choice. I guess linking them off into masquerena really is my best choice, but i wanted to know if there was some other secret tech out there that i just didn't know about.
>>96327010I:P to S:P is the best option available, but Avramax is okay, especially if made with I:P, as your wincon is ultimately just protecting Winda.
Is Spright Blue a cute girl?I know Spright Red is.
>>96327980No, the only confirmed """females""" are carrot, red and elf. They're all humanoid plasma so they don't have p0n0s or vagania, iirc they just fill out the clothes kitt gave to them. I'm not sure why she owns a tight fitting latex suit though, she doesn't fit in it either, maybe it's her sister's.
>>96329593Definitely her sister's hand me downs.
Any recommendations for Yu-Gi-Oh-specific card binders? I have the Ash Blossom Konami one but it's getting tight in there. Needs more pages. Wondering if there are any good unofficial ones.I basically like the anti-slip sleeves (even though they still slip) and nice cover art.
>>96329761Manamoon makes good gear, including binders, and just about everything is the best it could be but the prices are a bit high and quantity is always super limited. They aren't super sexy but gamegenic's zipper binders are some of my personal favorite for function and they're durable as hell. My only real gripe is that they lack some form of labeling option besides sticking something to it or wtiting on it. I wish the binders had some sort of clear pocket you can put a paper slip in to label them.
>>96332911I should say these are not necessarily ygo specific but with gamegenic I find they have enough pinch to the pockets to hold ygo cards because nobody really makes them besides jp size card games. Manamoon's behave similar and I wish I xould buy more of their BoM binder. The market seems too niche for people to want to make them and they just expect you to live with it.
>the order was cancelled because the item was unavailableGod... dammit...What's the real difference between Asian and Japanese versions? Trying to understand why the former is cheaper because I'll probably go with that one now.
>>96332911>>96332934Wow Manamoon's stuff looks gorgeous. Never heard of them before. Can't tell but I assume their pages are double-sided?Looking at that Lunar Lantern one even though the tonal dissonance between cover and contents will probably drive me insane.
>ManamoonIf you want chinkshit quality and to get your shit sent a year after you placed your order, sure, go for it.
>>96301605Both are shit but charmies are more fair simply because it forces the player to chose which to deck in and not take too much space. The roach resolves and all kinds of special summons are punished, taking only three slots and no side deck slots.
>>96335549>Both are shit but charmies are more fair simply because it forces the player to chose which to deck in and not take too much space. That argument would hold weight if Fuwalos didn't cover two of the most common summoning locations in the game on its own. Plus the simple fact that it can draw 2 off of every summon instead of just 1. The only "decision" is which of the secondary charmies to side in based off of your current matchup.
>>96335619And you are right, but it is still technically more fair I think, yes that doesn't say much. Also drawing two mulcharmies is either a massive payoff going second or a ticket to brick city going first, but unlikely in both cases. These cards are an aswer to hyper consistent decks and super splashable engines capable of baiting handtraps and co without impacting player's gameplan too much. In the end it's just a game design matter, the question being if powercreep is avoidable at all, and if not, is making everything broken the answer.
God damn it, I had the win if I just went to battle and attacked with Jet Syncron instead of ending my turn because because the timer was making me panic and I had assumed I already lost
>>96333373At this point i'd just wait for next year's maze set, that's probably where they'll dump the tactical try shit since those sets are mostly memberberries.>b-b-but TCG rarity bumping, price spiking and shittier card quality! This ain't your first post about uohime, so i know you almost paid $60 for a OCG copy of it, meaning the cost isn't a issue. There's no way the alt art ends up costing more than $30+ anyway unless they print it exclusively in starlight/ultimate (can't be a QCSR because those won't be printed ever again). The card quality is an issue but hey, at least you'll be able to put your uohime playset to good use in a legal deck.
>>96335769>i know you almost paid $60 for a OCG copy of it, meaning the cost isn't a issueYou got me.I'm just so concerned about possible censorship. You say next year she may be coming to freedomland but do we know when? Do we know when!?
>HeWhat the FUCK
>>96335862The other mankos aren't censored iirc, uohime has nothing to censor anyway.
>>96335870I want to kiss him.
>>96336338>mankoslel>nothing to censorYou're speaking as if there aren't 20 other examples where Konami censored girl tummies for no reason.
Is there a way to sort on master duel that hides/excludes cards that can't be dismantled?
>>96335870>XX50 ATK
I was just thinking should you randomize when to play around Nibiru and Droll like randomizing in Heads Up No Limit or always play around it?
>>96339363Always just play as if neither exists until the moment it gets dropped on you
>>96339363It entirely depends on the capabilities of the deck. Very few decks have the capacity to play around these cards to begin with so it's a fool's errand to pursue the question for many decks.Nib is fairly easy to play through assuming you draw extension or a 2nd engine starter so I think by virtue of you holding those cards for after other handtraps you're playing around nib too.Droll is something your deck either can or can't play around natively. EG If you need a search for your payoff like an in archetype trap and your combo has you search for an extender then you're just kinda SOL.
Cut a Meltdown for being cloggy, wondering if I should run 3 Aleister or 2 Aleister 1 Kaiser Sea Horse. I like Sea Horse a lot for chain blocking and extensions, but Aleister makes more card advantage. Once I get the Primite package in MD and practice enough, I'll probably pick them up in paper, it's only like 7 more cards. I was worried about Droll conflict with Charmies, but I think if I only run 3, it's OK
>>96337396No, and it bothers me as well. I assume you're asking for the sake of a masochist challenge, but I hate that after opening enough legacy packs I have 13 St. Joan cards just sitting in my box. Why won't they let me dismantle the extras? I don't even want the dust. Just destroy them
I'm certainly not playing the optimal version of a Junk Speeder deck but sometimes God decides you're not losing this one.
The wait for this is actually killing me.
>>96342014I haven't even started the event, the only synchro deck i own is tenpai and that shit is unplayable without the raye cards.
As something of a more oldschool player (first starter decks up into 5Ds era, with some random smatterings of playing after that), I feel like I don't know how to get back into this game anymore. The way that decks play is a little familiar, but cards have gotten a lot more dense with text, and there's a lot of hand traps and effect negation now.Does anyone have any advice for how I might be able to approach sort of re-learning the game?
>>96335870Original text isn't gendered, and the video games have it interact with cards that are for female monsters. You can blame the English translators.
>>96343105Seconding this, I tried getting back into the game and after getting my ass kicked in master duel and even a local (where I probably annoyed the hell out of everyone for slow playing like crazy) I just gave up and exclusively go to Goat/Edison events now.
>>96343105If you really want to you can play Edison format which is basically where you left off. But if you want to try and get into the modern game then I'd recommend just watching some gameplay recap videos to get an idea of the mentality that goes into playing today.I think MBT's "ten minute testing"s are a great tool to explain what a deck intends to do and the mentality to operate with and he actually explains what plays he makes and why. Giving you an idea of what cards the hands/deck are trying to play around as well as giving you an idea of what direction he's trying to make plays towards. While reading the entirety of card text is to your benefit, learning to skim cards for important words like draw, add, control, destroy, negate, target, etc can help you quickly parse a cardtext. Like if you have the effect "while you CONTROL blah blah blah : you can TARGET blah blah blah ; NEGATE it's effects blah blah blah." You can just pick up those key words and from there decide how much reading actually needs to be done.Since you've been gone, konami has introduced something called problem solving card text (PSCT) which formats the text on cards to be uniform in presentation as followsCONDITION [ : ] COST [ ; ] EFFECTLacking those important punctuation marks will help you quickly identify if something does or doesn't have a condition or cost. Like if you see none of them, it most likely does not activate such as a continuous effect or restriction.IE "while this card is on the field you can only summon Dark monsters" or "you can only use each effect of "[name]" once per turn"NOTE: PSCT IS NOT PRESENT IN EDISON AND HAS A DIFFERENCE IN RULES TO THE MODERN GAME. You will be required to know your shit.I would recommend you have a good grasp on your own deck. Not hard memorize every word, but stuff like "this one searches for something on summon and does *something* when sent to GY." You explain yours, your opp can explain their's. Play time fills the rest.
Really good butt.
This duel is awesome so far.Does anyone know the track that plays while Goodwin is summoning his Synchro dragons? The track with the violins and horns. It's noticeably great.Episode 62, for reference.
>>96343105edison man see if you have a locals most people are nice and just more players
>>96343646Is this the track you're looking for, Anon?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnn4OaOEQ_o
>>96343105That all depends entirely on what you need to get back into the game. Do you need a simple-to-pilot deck that can get you accustomed to how newer decks function? Do you need to catch up on all the different summoning mechanics since the 5Ds era? If it helps with the card density at all, most proper archetypes will generally share activation conditions and/or effects between their members. Most Kashtira monsters generally share the same summoning conditions and types of removal, most low-level Witchcrafter monsters share the effect to tribute themselves on quick effect to summon another, most Tearlaments monsters share the effect to Fusion Summon when they're sent to the GY by card effect and also mill, so on and so forth. So it's less about asking "what do each of these individual cards do?" and "what does this group of cards do, and which ones should I identify as the chokepoints for interrupts?" Also, skimming the text to see if there's quick effect interruption. Though granted, the new set is dense in a lot of effects that I admittedly experience picrel while reading.
https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/134049505
>>96335549Nah. Charmies are more fair for one simple reason.Maxx "C" allows you to create a full board of interaction on Turn 1 and still use its effect. It's even more likely with decks that have effects that let you draw cards as part of your combo, making the Turn 1 player far more likely to see it and do this.Mulcharmies require an empty board to use, so that can't happen.
>>96343105>>96343231I recommend starting with the Staples, which can loosely be split into Handtraps, Going First, Boardbreakers (alt. "Going Second"), and Generic ED.Combo lines change from deck to deck, but these cards can easily last a decade plus, help familiarize yourself with the general structure of the cards, and can greatly improve your deckbuilding and keep you in the game longer. For an easy way to find them, look up a bunch of tournament meta lists of different archetypes and see what cards are in common between them across the main/side/extra, or look up tierlists for handtraps/boardbreakers that can tell you of others that aren't currently played due to the format not fitting them but are good for others. As for modern deckbuilding, I generally recommend this type of consideration:>Max 8 Starters (Cards intended to be normal summoned)>~15-16 Extenders (includes cards like Reinforcement of the Army that can search Starters)>~15 or more Utility (Handtraps/Boardbreakers/Cards you Sidedeck)>0-2 Garnets (Cards you don't want in opening hand but instead need in decks to do a thing, or are searched out. Max of 1 if it is 100% required in deck (aka. Hard Garnet))Some decks can go very low on the Extenders/Starters, but this is a good eyeball for things when starting out.
>>96346479Slight clarification on the "are searched out" in the Garnets section. That largely indicates ones that will be part of your Endboard and can be found as part of your deck's gameplan, so you don't really want them drawn rather than searched or whatever else you are doing. Also, for finding decklists, ygoprodeck has the widest array of tournaments and best interface in my experience.
>>96345142That sounds like it!5Ds has no right to have such a good soundtrack.
Master Duel players, what are you running for the event?Me? Well let's just say never bring a Sky Striker to a Star War.No seriously, for some reason 100% of my opponents have been playing Sky Strikers and they just don't seem to be able to handle Kozmo.
>>96350797I'm running dinosaur, it seems people don't know the deck actually has two ways of OTKing now.If you want to know the other line, you summon drillygnathus instead of lars and summon a banished dino (usually misc, but any level 4 will do) with his effect, you then summon steamed sabersaurus and pop drillygnathus to switch an opponent's monster to face up attack. Drillygnathus can summon itself back by shuffling frostosaurus, and since he has no materials attached he'll deal twice as much damage. And then when you swing at the monster you flipped back up (after flipping the whole board down with UCT), you use sabersaurus' other effect to boost him to 5k, meaning he can deal up to 10k damage by himself. Tyranno's SNED and burn effect can deal the rest if drillygnathus wasn't able to kill the opponent. And the line is actually not as frail as the pentestag-dugares one, because you gather enough materials to summon a evolzar to shield you from GY/hand effects or a random mirror/cylinders, it hasn't happened in MD but i get meme'd on with these two ancient trap cards at locals all the fucking time lol.
>>96350797>>96350865Forgot to post my deck, sorry.
These Starlight and Quarter Century rares are insanely pricey. One day I'll get them all. Ash Blossom will wait until then because I like the idea of her getting impatient and annoyed that I won't slot her into the binder.https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15hQ7d7jRjx44NljmQQcG_-1xzAsYdTJ9vBWmf3rnOg8/They're included in the sheet for reference purposes, but I decided not to bother getting any more physical Rush Duel cards unless they escape Japan because it has way more lolis than I expected. I still refuse to believe this is every loli card. Asking for help again on any I might have missed. Also please tell me to fuck off if I'm being obnoxious.
>>96356979Stop shitting up your loli binder with hags. There are so many fairies in your collection that you might as well buy another binder to shove those in there.
>>96358512I can take out the hags if you point me to them. Some cards are just really hard for me to tell. The "Notes" column also has some semblance of my schizo reasoning for specific card inclusions. Not everything in the googlesheet is in my binder. Any row that's "completely" surrounded by a solid yellow border is displayed in the binder. I should make a key or something to denote that.>you might as well buy another binder to shove those in there.I did, but not because of the Fairies. I got the Konami Dark Magician Girl one to fit in all the loli binder rejects. Also the only DMG I have is Toon Dark Magician Girl.Spellcaster type surprisingly leads the loli count by far at 60 cards with Fairy trailing far behind at only 36.
>>96358566Forgot to mention I did end up removing Necroquip entirely per advice. She's been banished.
>aki’s plant support still sucksI hate this
>>96358770It's fine of you ask me, it's a lot more cohesive than the rose dragons were for the "archetype". It's not going to be meta but if we set the bar for [good] at being meta defining then you might as well ignore 99% of the cards in existance and are announced.Like what did you want it to do? It was never going to be some sort of negate slop deck. The archetype finally feels good to play and it doesn't feel too janky.
>i inject my monster with cocaine!Very cool.
>>96361681Mercury the Tripper indeed
I'm still working on the boomer cube and I need 1-2 more fun boss monsters. Right now I have:>obligatory BLS / CED / DMoC>Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys>The Creator>all 3 god cards (post-2005 but they're iconic)>Gilford the Lightning (also post-2005 TCG but it's a classic Joey card)Specifically I'm looking for big guys that don't require specific synergies to summon (like Horus LV8) but are cool to see in a draft and might be worth building around. Worth noting I don't have fusion or ritual monsters in the cube right now, but I might house rule that if you draft a ritual monster you get the accompanying spell for free.
>>96362187>DMoC>about as iconic as BLS and CEDChaos sorcerersisters...
>>96362574I have Chaos Sorc in there too but I think he's more of a miniboss (like Jinzo).
Woah shit.

>>96363016activate torrential tribute. response?
Is this the first time this card appeared? Because that's a hilarious jab at the early seasons.
Finished the GX manga. It was pretty good. Interested in reading OCG stories next. Can I skip the Sky Striker stuff and go right into the Witchcrafter part?
>>96363443Yes but the sky striker stuff is the best part because yoshida was kept on a leash for it, meaning there's no homos.Magistus introduced one and retroactively made zoroa gay, the witchcrafter part is literally not focusing on the witchcrafter girls, it's all about endymion's gay son.IMO i would skip OCG stories altogether and start reading the other manga that is more or less just a bunch of kids playing yugioh at locals, pic related is a major character in it.
>>96363865>pic related is a major character in it.You have my attention.I really can't fool TCG players, huh? You saw right through me and knew I was only interested in the Witchcrafter part for Verre. That's unfortunate. I might read the Skytriker part some time down the line in that case.
>>96362187Dark Simorgh is a pretty fun build around that gives you a reason to play wind monsters, its quite a bit out of the time period though.
>>96363443you can, the striker stuff is completely unrelated to the magistus storyline, but i wouldn't. the striker arc is actually pretty good.
>>96361681Yeah but they retrained and powercrept it with the LIOV meth spell.
>>96363443The Sky Striker storyline is actually good in the manga since it has more than two characters and actually takes some time to worldbuild. The Magistus storyline has been good thus far, but since they appear to be in it for the long haul it's progressing more slowly. They got to the timeskip between the Magistus and Witchcrafter/Endymion/Invoked timeframes, but some moderately interesting things happen before that.>>96363865You can't "retroactively" make a character gay if they had no character to begin with.

>>96363912Yeah unfortunately it's a bit of a stretch. I considered stretching it for LADD (shoutout to the GX manga reader) because it's one of my all time favorite illustrations, but it wasn't boomer enough. Fuck now I wanna drop stacks on a LADD playmat...

I played Marincess at last locals just because I hadnt dusted it off in a while and oh man was that a mistake, that deck just cannot compete against todays decks
>>96325024>>96367749I went with masquerena + s:p, however once the fiendsmith cards get reprinted i'll have to think of a link-3/4 to use because masquerena can't be summoned with links and apollousa is banned.
This new ED is really good. Good enough to be listened to on its own.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUUubHbrGJ4Also sex.>>96367773I bet Marincess was way cuter than what your opponent was playing. That has to count for something.
>>96367773It only truly dies to droll. A handtrap on your normal (tang/pascalus) and slug means shit if you have that new marincess card that isn't even a marincess, i forgot her name but it's a level 4 that can summon itself for free and reveals your opponent's hand and field when linked off. If you don't have it or don't want to buy it (iirc it's $20 per copy) there's always sea horse. Run cynet mining too.
Children's cartoons are pretty cool.
>>96370243Trickstar Aqua Angel? I am playing it but that card still barely helps. Yeah you look at their hand but all it really does is scout out Nib, to which the deck still has no actual counterplay for. I kinda could before because some hands could make Toad at 5 summons if the stars aligned but without Bahamut thats out.No, the problem is all the fucking turn 0 plays now, K9 vs can pop your summons before you get to the links and of course most of the Marincess extenders are activated hand or graveyard effects. This is the current form I was playing

>>96370554Well, don't play against meta decks then, at every locals there's always a group of guys who play old/budget decks for fun, find them and stick to that table.>b-but what if one of them suddenly pulls out his yummy deck? You tell him to fuck off.Look into the "heart of the underdog" format, most stores run tournaments for them and you'll never see meta (see:tier 3 and above) decks there, hell, even popular staples and engines tend to be banned too.I can't give you a banlist because every store has its own, but to give you an idea of how low powered the format can be, my locals still has traptrix sera, souleating oviraptor and rapier the onslaught limited because those decks all took 3 tournaments each.
>>96377094The correct response is to keep Raigeki in your side deck in case they're running nu-Melffy
>>96377499evenly is better because it outs one of the field spells too. if you can get the atk boosting one banished most yummy decks have no way to actually beat you in a grind game.
>>96377628True. Point is that it's easily the most fragile of the new dbp decks. Very easy to squash as long as you're able to boardwipe them or mess with them outside of the main phase. On top of stopping most of their effects, they'll almost certainly have burned through most of their usable main/extra deck cards in the process.
>>96377697honestly, every game i manage to bait the snatchy and then SP the field spell i win. the deck has zero out to SP after that if you just sit on it and beat over all their monsters as cooky cant pop it unless you activate a card effect.
>>96377628It is a second victory when you do it with Raigeki. Not because you did it with Raigeki, but because it spiritually damages your opponent when you do.
>>96373616Action was a bit stiff in a few places, but it's still fun that we're getting this. I hope the stuff after the Despians drop fixes that.

Years later, they make another card with masquerena and they censor her AGAIN, and it's not just her stomach, it's her ass as well. And then there's pendulum witch, who got away with zero censorship even though her pelvic bones, navel AND armpits are in full display.

Just got Master Duel and have 9.5k gems. What's the strategy to get cards for the archetype I want?Nothing currently available gives me anything I want, and there's no story or solo content for it.
>>96386495Decide on a deck, then craft a SR card for it, it's very likely the archetype has its own secret pack.Spending gems on master packs is a complete waste, that pack can give you ANY card in the game, whereas secret (always available, you just need to unlock it by crafting a SR/UR card from it, and it stays unlocked for 24 hours) and selection (featured in the store for a limited time, usually 60-90 days) packs are more likely to give you the cards featured on them.To give you an example, let's assume you want to play labrynth because you like control decks AND the princess' enormous breasts make your dick hard, luckily she does have a secret pack, so simply crafting arianna (a 3-of, so not a waste of dust) should unlock the secret pack. All you have to do now is spend as many gems as you want/can on it.Just keep in mind that you're not guaranteed UR card(s), but if you get nothing but SRs the game pities you and gives you a guaranteed UR in the next 10-pull. Never buy single packs, always wait until you gather 1k gems and do 10-pulls.
>>96386495if you're starting out buy the staple + 10 master packs bundles first, then spend the rest on a meta deck, ryzeal is on the selection pack and it's absurdly good, and it's bound to get better once they release the mitsugi, onomat and nekroz support, hell, just eclipse twins is a massive boost
Strictly speaking as a competent player, what would be the maximum number of cards you would allow for the main deck and how many maximum combo archetypes would you allow?

I always forget or get confused about which effects a cards "remembers".Say if I have THE Star Ham in play that was summoned from the gy by his second effect, the book him as one of my targets for my Cooky Way, then bounce him with Yummy Suprise, will the card still be banished when it leaves the field or will it "forget" and effectively become a new card after being flipped facedown?
>>96401420Let's start with this interaction, >If a monster is summoned and the effect "Banish it when it leaves the field" is applied, what happens when a card effect would return it to the hand?Legally you would not be able to target a card that cannot be returned to the hand (ie, one that is banished when it leaves the field), so you would not be able to target THE Star Ham with Yummy Surprise's effect. Therefore, if THE Star Ham is currently under that effect, he cannot be targeted. However, this such effect could be applied if the "return to hand" effect is applied strictly on resolution, such as by the effect of Argostars - Slayer Eteo. In this such scenario, THE Star Ham would be banished, as it is leaving the field. If you flip THE Star Ham face-down, the effects that were applied to it while it was face-up are forgotten. When flipped back up, it would thereafter be a legal target for Yummy Surprise's effect (as it can now, legally, return to the hand/extra deck), and will function similarly on resolution of Eteo's effect.
>>96401565https://ygorganization.com/learnrulingspart13/Here's a relevant article. I'll tl;dr it a bit for youIf a monster stops being face-up temporarily:> It WILL forget any properties the cards used for its Summon (Tributes, materials, etc.) had at the time of the Summon.> It WILL forget previously applied effects.(this is relevant to THE King of the Heavens, Star Ham)> It WILL NOT forget which particular cards were used for its Summon.> It WILL NOT forget whether it was Special Summoned or not.> It WILL forget whether it was Summoned that turn.> If it was flipped face-down, it WILL forget where it was Special Summoned from, but it WILL NOT forget in the case it was banished temporarily
>>96399283The hell are you talking about? No kid today is using the word "kewl". That's lingo from about 90s or 00s. Either way that makes that term 20+ years old and not a "kid" word at this point.
I discovered a new really really cute.
I can't believe I missed this adorable loli.
>>96401420the ham will forget it's supposed to be banished if it gets flipped face-down yes.
>>96405660One other question thats kind of along these lines then but if I use Mirrorjades banish effect on my opponents turn and book effect him in some fashion then flip him back up on my turn, could I banish another target then that turn?
>>96405904rules wise that's the same scenario. the star ham & mirrorjade are both applying an effect to themselves. the second the card is changed to face-down defense position it will forget any effects applied to it.

>>96346304>Maxx "C" allows you to create a full board of interaction on Turn 1 and still use its effect. That's irrelevant outside of pissing players off because it doesn't give them the illusion of winning. When I played locals I'd show my opponent my hand and sets at the end of turn 1 and if I had nib or johnson they'd usually scoop right there. If you make board and have blowouts like solemns/nib or turnskips like droll/featherstorm your opponent lost at dice roll. What pro players seem to ignore about modern is that if you and your opponent open 5 engines cards, and the turn 2 topdecks engine, the player going first should win almost 100% of the time. This is especially true in mirror matches for most decks. It makes sense, right? I have 5 cards to generate more than 5 cards interaction while you start with 6 and have to play through my entire board first. All things equal, 5+X > 6The exceptions are deck strength (a weaker deck going first is more even) or when decks can break in-engine like Shaddoll or Ryzeal. This fact is why the overwhelming majority of YGO decks skew towards go-first and have no go-second capability, and also why Konami limits or semi limits most board breakers while handtraps are always at 3. Cards like Fenrir or Ext Ryzeal break the game.Maxx "C" or Chummies going second also matter very little with decks that have hard chokes, which is most old decks but also some moderns. If your extra deck summon dies and you lose (Synchron), if your BraFu and Grass need to resolve or you lose (Branded), if you need a Level 2 or Level 1 or 2500 Attack on the field to start your combo (Spright/Yummy/Regenesis), you lose.If I Crossout your Obedience Schooled, belle surprise and Solemn your yummy starter, how are you winning even with 15 cards in hand? how are you winning with 15 cards if I have summon breaker and you drew no removal
>>96406722>That's irrelevant outside of pissing players off because it doesn't give them the illusion of winningWhat you're calling the "illusion of winning" is just the opportunity to play through a board (albeit at a loss) without having your opponent gain 5 to 10 turns of advantage for interruption due to the effects of Maxx "C" resolving. They only have a *chance* to recover from that sort of thing without Maxx "C"'s effect applying, while it's all but guaranteed when both game states are occurring in tandem. Like yes, the Turn 1 player has an advantage over the turn 2 player. Why in the world would you want them to gain MORE advantage?>If I Crossout your Obedience Schooled, belle surprise and Solemn your yummy starter, how are you winning even with 15 cards in hand? You're not, but that's because that shit loses to fucking Raigeki. That is a problem inherent to that archetype, in that they need to swarm but end up burning most (if not all) of their resources in one pull. Now, how am I winning with a *Normal* deck? I'm drawing into shit like Effect Veiler and other handtraps like Ghost Mourner or my Dominus cards, and Nibiru as a samson option in case you somehow break my board.
Good episode.

>>96422733Just play stun.Stopped playing stun after highschool thinking it's a thing you grow out of to play the "real game" but with how current format is now I'm back to stun.Ultimately one player doesn't get to play regardless of what deck you play, might as well just skip the intricacies. If anything the games actually last longer now compared to one player just scooping because he didn't draw the out.
>>96422733No. There is already a "reboot" and we've effectively had set rotation for the past four years. A non-playing faggot like you wouldn't know anything about that, though.>b-but if we effectively have set rotation... why not just add set rotation officially?!?!!Because older decks don't instantly stop being usable just because they're old. A testament to this is the fact that Sky Striker has inexplicably remained in the meta, even before its newest waves of support that solve a lot of problems with the deck. "You should update your decks :)" and "You MUST update your decks, NOW!!!" are two different things.
>>96422733Any issues with the current game are due to Konami decisions in the first place; rebooting or introducing set rotation would not magically make those problems go away.
>>96423139>a non-playing faggot like youpeople not playing the game (and not buying cards) is literally a huge problem though.the "new player problem" was the hot topic like a year ago but the point still stands, the game is terrifying for new players and one reason is the massive card pool and huge number of potential interactions. set rotation solves that and makes the game less intimidating to non/new players so you don't just end up watching the playerbase decay.justice hunters may be doing great but the last two core sets were complete flops, and one good set isn't going to do much good in the eyes of game stores who can't get rid of product that was obsolete on release, especially if strike three comes relatively soon. set rotation staves off power creep a little so sets aren't dead on arrival, and the limited card pool means every card printed matters a bit more.>>96423153konami likes money and set rotation is one way to encourage people to buy new product.
>>96423233>set rotation is one way to encourage people to buy new product>set rotation (...) makes the game less intimidating to non/new playersKonami's policy of making sure every new set powercreeps the previous one does the same thing, I can count on one hand the number of people in my locals that are not playing a deck released in this year. And from a financial standpoint no set rotation also gives you the ability to dilute reprint sets with old cards because they're still technically "playable".

>>96423637>>96422485It is shit but I have to admit running singles on Edison is nice.
>>96422733>unanimousNot even close. Most of people who demand such are not actually players nor will they become them if they did do a reboot. Because a reboot already exists that addresses just about all the complaints, you can play it on the free-free simulator, EDOpro, right this second and they don't. The argument of it needs to be physical doesn't really do much when you consider we have fully digital card games that exist and are popular like Hearthstone. EDOpro is even on mobile so there's not much of an excuse besides the mobile interface being a touch clunky for fat fingers, to which I would say buy a stylus for like $5 which is cheaper than a gym membership too.Relatively recently MBT (a sizable ygo youtuber) tried to create a rotation format. It's not some literal who so it had enough eyes on it, but it flopped before the first rotation could even happen.QRD problem cards came up, an effective ban list was created, and people realized the rotation aspect was pointless, everyone dropped it, and pro rotation people kind of swept it under the rug or haven't even heard of it because of its failure.I didn't even think the card pool was bad. I participated in it and it was genuinely fun too. But there wasn't really a point to playing it compared to an eternal format all things considered.People know what they want, but I don't think they don't know how they want it realized.Stuff like>I want less cards moving aroundCould either be interpreted as cards having more going on per single card meaning there is less moving cards or just the general flow of the game having less searching/summoning/etc.Both address a similar demand from people but I think those two solutions would conflict with the desire of how to go about it of the other.
If a hamburger materialized every time a nonplayer posts a stupid suggestion on how to ""fix"" the game without thinking through the longterm consequences, world hunger would be solved.
>>96424161cont.I bring this up because I think that people expect a rotation or reboot to solve those kinds of issues as a 1st step but then people are going to butt heads about the 2nd step of how card design is handled.I personally think people should learn to move on and seek out games that suit them. There won't be a 1 to 1 transfer of players during a reboot and I don't think there is enough genuine people to replace those lost players.I look at stuff like speed duels. A fantastic format/variation but sold only meh because those secondaries aren't genuine and/or there wasn't much interest from the existing playerbase. The people "voted with their wallets" and folded.
>>96422733No, it needs new management. None of the issues that plague this game are present in OCG, because anyone on a losing streak can pick up a meta deck or add a meta engine to its deck and instantly fix everything. Wanna do the same in TCG? That'll be 1k + tax + tip.The average japanese kid can buy VS K9, staples included, for a little over $100.
>>96423735So everyone at your locals just immediately stopped playing Mapiss, MItsu Ryzeal, Pedo Forest etc as soon as JUSH released and now you all pretend FTKs no longer exist and nobody has to side the outs for them anymore?

>>96424841Alright you insufferable faggot. I'll be your cuckleberry>What Gradius decks do you recommend for funsies?None. Because the only one that kinda-sorta exists is Kozmo and it's not good nor fun to play.
>>96422481Sorry anon. Nobody is responding to your question because there isn't one. The deck has very little identity to it and you're not really going anywhere relevant with the deck for the modern game. It's a little too dated at this point in card design outside of a super casual pool of decks.Don't get me wrong I'd love the loose archetype to be playable, hell I'm going to go play some dariusburst EX later today.I played the list in this video for a little bit just to get my kicks but don't expect it to hold up in every setting.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_DnWnrOots
>>96422733Not at all. There's people like me who have left other games specifically because they had a forced set rotation rendering our collections unplayable. Similarly, the moves of WoTC over the past decade show the lie that power creep would be reduced with set rotation, as well as the fact that people generally don't like it because of how big that Commander, a non-rotating format, is. Mix with the fact that Konami is dogshit at supporting alternate formats bringing doubt upon rotation just being another format, that rotation reduces the pressure on reprints, rotation has consistently killed various smaller card games rather than being a perpetual good, tests of trying it in the community that had eyes on them like the mentioned MBT one failed utterly...As for a reboot, that ain't unanimous either. Like for a raw start, there wouldn't be people playing the game if they didn't enjoy it. But going beyond that, it's insanely easy to recognize that there isn't a single agreement over when people think Yu-Gi-Oh should be rebooted to, any means of keeping things at that power level, or what people who disagree with the chosen time and power level should do other than a general "get fucked" in varying levels of politeness. AND a relaunch has zero indication of success because guess what? The physical Speed Duels did a reboot, and the first Battle City box sold massively creating an effective new launch for the product line and format...and it still died out from dwindling interest. Duel Links had a massive launch...but even by the GX and 5Ds era, a lot of its sustainment was because it was the only official online Sim at the time.
>>96424841Anon...You asked the question once on a older theme that's rarely played. The thread may be generally slower, but that also means there's a harder time finding someone who can give an answer, and it becomes easier for your first and at the time only post to get drowned out by a broader question. And hell, sometimes you gotta expect your question not to be answered for a few days or sometimes needing to ask it in the next thread. Know several of mine in the past have had to take that direction before someone answered it.
>>96424237>food analogyare you the fat autistic guy at my locals nobody likes talking to?
>>96426235Reddit-tier food analogies are the only way to communicate with the mouthbreathing retards trying to ""fix"" the game because they're incapable of abstraction. Speak the language they understand.>fat autistic guy at my locals nobody likes talking to?Pretty sure every locals has one, sadly.
>>96426592desu i will give the fat autistic guy credit for at least showing up every week and at least supporting paper play
>think I might get back into card games I used to love yugioh>New decks are all really annoying or cringey but I dig voiceless voice hardcore>Test it in master duel, yep its cool I will try it irl at a local shop>Go to buy deck>£100 for cardboardNah this is unreal. This deck is not even good. Its not meta its not anything but alright and really cool. For 100 I can buy a warhammer start collecting and a cool hero model, get 30 hours of hobby time and then infinite play timeWith this cardboard I do NOT get that value.
>>96427201Don't buy from ebay?
>>96427201Buy from TCGplayer, optimize your cart before checking out
>>96422727Delta Blizzard: Once per turn, If you Synchro Summon a Water Synchro: Banish 1 Random card from your Opponent's Extra Deck, if there is no cards in your opponent's Extra Deck Banish the top 3 cards of your opponent's deck.>>96421021Orbital Bombardment: Once per turn, if you Summon a Machine Monster with 2500 or more ATK: send cards from your deck to GY equal to the number of cards in your opponent's GY with a same name as another card in their GY then inflict 800 damage to your opponent for each card sent by this Deck Master Ability
>>96427226>>96427263Because I dont value my own time I will make my decklist and see how much it will cost, hopefully a lot less than 100!
>>96427310>Just 3 of Lo the crux of the deck is 30 quidNah
>>96427340That's pretty much the most expensive card in the deck.
>>96427340Where the fuck are you getting that price?
>>96427340Lo is $4 on TCGplayer.
>>96427201>>96427340Bro what the fuck are you looking at? You know the card has multiple printings right? The one you are looking at is likely the Quarter century secret rare which is the most expensive one because it's a chase rarity at about $40‐50 burgerbux (30-40 squids). The regular secret rare is about $5 at most (4q).First of all, stop using ebay. Most of the people on there are retards selling their cards at wild prices. Use TCGplayer(America and adjacent) or Cardmarket(Europe)I am more than happy to give you pointers on how to minimize the cost of the deck.I'm willing to give you more pointers if you want.
>>96425254Nigger
>voiceless voiceLo is hot.
>>96427559One more thing. The archetype, voiceless, is going to be in the tin that is coming out in like a week, including Lo. It's going to be even cheaper then, probably not by much though considering it's already fairly cheap but it's something. That said DO NOT BUY SEALED PRODUCT except for fun purposes with a full understanding that you are statistically unlikely to pull what you want. Buy maybe 1 tin if you're tempted and then stop. Because for the price of 1 tin you could buy a playset of Lo at the current price and more.
>>96427698Wtf she is not sexual
>>96427559Whats the best site for the uk anon? And out of 10 how good is voiceless
>>96427999Not that anon but Cardmarket is the best vendor for Europe.>And out of 10 how good is voiceless5/10. Better than most people's shitdecks and petdecks, but will get clapped by even off-meta rogue decks, say nothing of actual meta.
Mikankute came.I could not wait.
>>96428038Cheers
>>96427999CardmarketLike a 6 or 7. It has strong plays and was meta for a short stint last year. Really depends how you decide to build it. The biggest concern is consistency as per the "ritual problem". I haven't checked to see if they're playing that new ritual bird pendulum so maybe some changes have happened. It's a competent deck for sure with at least a modern playstyle to keep up with most decks in the current era. I would greenlight you getting it which is a lot better than a lot of other players coming back.
>>96427661>urh... uhuhu, hey guys... I want to know some recommendations on a singular deck that isn't very good and came out over a decade ago... any recommendations :)>Why are you guys being so mean to me? I only insulted all of you when nobody answered my question that has a singular answer :(Fuck you, faggot. Go farm for pity points on reddit.
