I was specifically looking into Old World of Darkness mummies, if it helps? Specifically the Minds Eye Theatre - Laws of the Resurrection sourcebook, which mentions it early on in the Soul Shards section. The Ab, the Heart, is the seat of consciousness.

No clue if it's a physical or spiritual heart, but I'm leaning towards the latter since there's a ritual that lets you gain traits from eating bits of people and eating the heart adds a social trait.

Midna asks looking down from the roof at a flooded outer courtyard, one a lot of novices tended to spend their downtime. A small chunk of them. Venti included were currently sitting on a makeshift raft of wood and whatever floated that was in the courtyard, held together by hopes, dreams and some magic on the bards part.
"Don't look at me." Venti looks up shrugging. "I had no part in this."
"Is that so? Why do you have half a coconut in your hand then?" The twili narrows her eyes looking at him.
"I had it stored in my ring for a rainy day. And it seemed appropriate." He shrugs, idly taking a sip from the island fruit and picking up the lute by his side. Strumming it idly.
"So what caused all this water? It can't be from rain not by this much." Midna asks dropping down from the roof onto the water. Walking across it to the raft.
"That... I'm not to sure on sights a little fuzzy there." The bard admits looking up at her from his seat. Shaking his head.
"Buuut I heard one of the fairies decided to try and help one of the new students homesickness."
Midna sighs exasperated crosses her arms, sitting down next to the tri-cultivator. "And how does making a pool of this section make them feel less homesick? Actually, how has the rest of the sect not flooded with this much water?"

Venti nods back. Gently playing a few chords on his instrument. "Yeah that's the one. Apparently generally only the most talented of folks take part. And you know her. She's got talent up to her ears."

"Well she is terribly talented in her art... So... what? Your plans just to sit here drinking coconut milk and playing music all afternoon?" Midna probes.

"Pretty much." Venti nods. "My rooms down near the bottom of this thing and I'd rather not open the door and risk flooding it so... I've just been here. relaxing, Playing, making sure the kids don't accidentally drown themselves and siphoning water essence from this thing."

"How Responsible, well I suppose that's one way to nourish the soul along the way." Midna jokes cracking a grin.
"Surprised there's this much left if you've been using the strainer on it."
Venti just shakes his head at that. "I can only take so much. It's like trying to drain a lake with a spigot."

Honestly probably a little bit of both. Its probably not the craziest thing that's happened in the sect. Though I imagine some disciple or senior might come in and just make a tunnel through the water connecting the rooms to the rest of the sect rather then remove the water itself for a bit. That's a fun image in my head.

Probably midna if I had to guess. Venti even if it was more drastic had support with zhon li early on to at least help ease him into things with hyrule. Midna its less different but she didn't really know anyone at first.
I like to think Ventis been in the novice rank so long. (Even if that'll change fairly soon.) that he's become a bit of a mentor for the newer/younger ones. Tries to look out for them.

The reason the elders don’t object to the occasional piece of mischief is because if they do, /their/ teachers will start telling stories of the antics the current elders got up to when they were juniors.

I was thinking the same thing. Earth and Hyrule are fairly similar in terms of how the world works so you’d just have to learn the additional rules of the new world, and the culture would be less jarring because it’s completely different. Meanwhile the Twilight Realm would be somewhat different than the Light World, and the partial overlap of cultures would mean Midna would get caught off guard by any unexpected differences.

This would check out to me a bit. Effecting reality through different means. Hell by that point Ritsukas ki able to imitate matter. I could definitely see her having a flying technique somewhere. I imagine shenanigans will only grow as both their capabilities do though.

I imagine venti's already met his new parents a bit. but I could have em meet for the first time then.
Him being in a major city compared to villages or the sect could be a little bit of a culture shock. And also help highlight just how much venti's changed in the 13 years or so. Aside from physically. Get stared at a bit by mundane mortals. It's easy to not realize how far he's come.

Having it complete his change fully could work to. He's probably already 80% ventish by the pool scene. Have ritsuka braid his hair one day because he likes to feel the wind pass through it when he runs down the mountain maybe. Save the highlights and color changes for later in the second or third stage.

Yeah, it’d make for a good way to make advancing from the first realm to the second more impactful. It could also explain why gods withdraw from the mortal world, it’s not that they can’t stay, but breaking through to the third realm makes your existence so impactful that even an errant thought or personal feeling has the power to overturn reality, so they leave reality and only interact with it through avatars that lack the power to affect reality to such a degree and proxies that can carry out their will.

You could transfer to a Twilight Realm sect while there, the training methods for Divine Delusion and God Body are the same, and they probably keep a copy of the regular versions of stages one and two of Soul Compass around for completeness’s sake.

Makes sense. I was sort of playing with the idea a bit that maybe a peak grand immortal-Stage Six cultivator is stronger then a average avatar of a lesser/True god. Not because their stronger then the god themselves but because thats probably the grand immortals whole self in the world. And for the god its probably more like a finger. Or if its a particularly powerful one... well something more numerous then fingers.

Hell it'll probably be bit of a surprise for Ritsuka to coming home unless she's been making sure to visit regularly being in the second realm now. That reminds me, I had an idea for why everyone wouldn’t be trying to become a cultivator. Hylia probably has an afterlife set up, and asking to be resurrected or reincarnated with your memories intact could be a thing, so people in Hyrule wouldn’t really fear death. It’d still be something to be avoided if you can, but it wouldn’t drive people in the same way. Also magical healthcare would likely be a fairly common service provided to mortals, and deaging could be a part of that, so people dying wouldn’t be as common anyway. End result, people wouldn’t feel like they have to rush into becoming a cultivator, you can start working on it when you want. This would also mean the sects applicants actually want to become cultivators and aren’t just looking to avoid old age, which would help them.

Honestly I imagine venti would enjoy the increased dexterity/agility and speed more then the outright strength. Probably do something like the flag game before with ritsuka again in a few months' time of practice but much bigger and more difficult. Magical floating platformers, falling footholds. At that, I came to a halt. It was happening. “I, SOVEREIGN PRIME, FORMALLY ACCEPT YOUR CHALLENGE! You have offended my honour of my construction vehicle certification for the last time!” I blared through the speakers. “Howver. Just because I engage in BCV, doesn’t mean I can’t BE the V!”

I proceeded to run my (maybe) NBR imouto off the road, tip her over, hold her down and smash her until she capitulated. Also I wrecked her vehicle. Elodie proceeded to tally up and hand me a list of public works damage I magnanimous repaired with a wave of my cosmic hand; in the heat of the moment it was totally worth establishing construction vehicle dominance.

Later that day I managed to close a really great deal because two of my competitors were busy engaging in BCV instead of doing actual construction business things.

Gotham. America's gaslit, oddly dated, long-poisoned commercial heart. Anything was for sale if you had the money, and anything that wasn't could be stolen if you knew where to look. In other words, it was easily one of the nicer Gothams I'd encountered because it didn't have a menacing Lazarus Pit underneath, and wasn't actually cursed. So I deemed engaging with the criminal element a low priority, and decided to do something more productive. Like conduct job interviews.

It wasn't going as expected for either me or the interviewees.

"You know, ladies" I said, staring at the implausibly stacked list of credentials on my desk and the implausibly sexy but tacky costumes that apparently all female supervillains just instinctively figure out how to put together when they go rogue, "my initial plan here was to present this as a casting couch thing AND THEN dripfeed the R&D, security detail and black ops duties alongside the perks. But since everyone here's showed up looking like you were going to the local BDSM club and got so lost you ended up at a halloween store instead, I just feel all of that goes without saying now. You all know why you're here, why even bother with the pretence?"

All their…”self-sells” followed a consistent pattern: Improbable career success at a young age, society/the workplace/both being terrible, hit a mental break and spontaneously started misusing talents that could have benefited mankind for selfish goals, she’ll show them, she’ll show them all.

“WELL I used to be an oceanologist but then SeaWorld bought up my research facility and gave me the boot, so now I’ma use my ADVANCED HYDRONYAMICS RESEARCH to make water cannons!”

“I was a nuclear physicist but my old timey chauvinist boss and his enormous moustache said nothing good ever came from women handling uranium! That’s why I build all these improbably small, compact and glowy power cores now!”

“The…the what now?”

I started explaining how in Japan, you could get paid for wearing a flashy but risque costume and cocking your comically oversized weapon if you were associated with the right franchise. They started taking notes.

Because I decided to take over Gotham with tried-and-true, perfectly legal means like lobbying, buying up real estate and getting into private equity while it was still new and hot, Batman left me perfectly unbothered even though Bruce Wayne was mildly concerned by my eye candy packing real weapons. We had no interactions until Batman tracked down Jack Napier, who was trying to turn himself in. He claimed that he’d been hounded by custard-squirting drones, water balloon full of clown makeup-dropping drones and generally clown-themed drones ever since he’d had a psychotic break and made some inadvisable enemies. Batman of course assumed this was either bullshit. Or maddened raving. Presently a drone delivered information about Jack being his parents’ killer. Nobody was ever sure what happened next, but apparently Jack then fell down six flights of stairs, slammed his own head in the windowsill repeatedly, and shot himself in the heart.

Similarly, while I was mostly uninvolved in the Penguin’s scheme to take over Gotham, a funny thing happened when he tried to unleash his penguin army/family. A SECOND penguin army entered the fray, and the other plan to bomb Gotham went awry because of the ongoing penguin civil war that all the humans there just…kind of stared at. Flippers went pap-pap. Beaks gouged at eyes. The sounds of frenzied bird-shrieking echoed through the sewer. Seriously, penguins get nasty when fighting. And the side that won, of course, was the side armed with penguin power armour which let them do everything from freeze the waterways solid to hypnotise enemy penguins to like…just shoot them. Or hold Cobblepot at gunpoint.

Also, this is pretty much following Paradise's Lost, where Lucifer knew that he would be forgiven if he were to ask God for such. This Lucifer also seems to know that if he were to ask God for forgiveness he would be welcome back, but he can't accept that due to his ego.
Not sure what God's plan is for Father-kun, but either this was just a stepping stone for his final form or it was just a part of the plan focused on Lucifer.

I don't think it would be sadly. Or maybe a bit of wriggle room can be given world sizes? The item description describes it as just this. Though he does have a sect eventually to. So maybe that could justify it being bigger.

It's been a decade, but iirc, a post-deathly-hollows harry potter gets shunted into middle earth some time in the third age, gets captured and held at angmar almost immediately.
Story picks up years later, when he's rescued, a short arc focusing on his convalescence, and the rest is him wandering around exploring the setting to a very autistic degree, making friends, getting involved, and eventually becoming a figure of legend, similar to the maiar.
No wand, no cloak, no stone, and it takes a long time for him to regain the ability to cast magic at all. What magic he does manage to recreate is mostly potions and miraculous bullshit akin to the attested feats of other wizards.
I'd recommend it because it's obviously written by somebody who's read the silmarillion and knows the setting beyond the movies.

Venti probably would of just treated it as something "Given" to him before then. But that could change his perspective a bit.
I'm still not sure much what being a saint will entail for what they do a bit aside from being seen as generally a very holy person. But I'll figure it out. I like to think maybe he has a good grasp on the actual ideals and lessons that hylia and the golden goddesses actually want to strive for.
And how to try and explain such things to a layman. but that may be to basic.

Being a god’s representative does come with responsibilities. Your friends and family would be able to tell when you’re just being yourself and when you’re carrying out your role as an instrument of Hylia’s will, so you’d still be able to relax around them.

Those would be his mentors mentor. And his bosses, bosses boss. Sort of. I imagine he consults a lot of Nayru oracles though. Makes sure to have a temple for them in his eventual Kingdom. ...I should do a proper flesh out for Hylian religion eventually for the different gods, saints and heroes. I'm imagining its some rather sophisticated form of polytheism. Sort of like if you mixed Hellenism and Christianity together.
