>>96345739I was specifically looking into Old World of Darkness mummies, if it helps? Specifically the Minds Eye Theatre - Laws of the Resurrection sourcebook, which mentions it early on in the Soul Shards section. The Ab, the Heart, is the seat of consciousness. No clue if it's a physical or spiritual heart, but I'm leaning towards the latter since there's a ritual that lets you gain traits from eating bits of people and eating the heart adds a social trait.

So after going to Kengan I can just record all the fights I've had in an audio book then anyone who listens to it will either have an aneurysm and/or become a master martial artist? Pretty coolAny fun things to do with that?
Hey I'm back all. Hope you've all been well."Do I want to know why the courtyard is flooded?"Midna asks looking down from the roof at a flooded outer courtyard, one a lot of novices tended to spend their downtime. A small chunk of them. Venti included were currently sitting on a makeshift raft of wood and whatever floated that was in the courtyard, held together by hopes, dreams and some magic on the bards part."Don't look at me." Venti looks up shrugging. "I had no part in this.""Is that so? Why do you have half a coconut in your hand then?" The twili narrows her eyes looking at him."I had it stored in my ring for a rainy day. And it seemed appropriate." He shrugs, idly taking a sip from the island fruit and picking up the lute by his side. Strumming it idly."So what caused all this water? It can't be from rain not by this much." Midna asks dropping down from the roof onto the water. Walking across it to the raft."That... I'm not to sure on sights a little fuzzy there." The bard admits looking up at her from his seat. Shaking his head."Buuut I heard one of the fairies decided to try and help one of the new students homesickness."Midna sighs exasperated crosses her arms, sitting down next to the tri-cultivator. "And how does making a pool of this section make them feel less homesick? Actually, how has the rest of the sect not flooded with this much water?"1/3
>>96347069"Well the students a zora." Venti comments dipping a finger into the cool waters. "As far as the sect not flooding? If I had to guess wards or something are set up in different areas to hold back stuff like this. Still I wouldn't go opening any doors to what's underneath us from the other side, seems a little risky if they'd hold if their open. Elders know about it. I just think whoever could easily solve this is kinda busy right now. That tournament is happening soon with the other sects so it had a lot of the disciples out right now trying to prepare.""Ah right that." The twili nods looking out at the pristine pool. "Thats the one your sister wants to take part in right? Once a century sort of thing?" Venti nods back. Gently playing a few chords on his instrument. "Yeah that's the one. Apparently generally only the most talented of folks take part. And you know her. She's got talent up to her ears." "Well she is terribly talented in her art... So... what? Your plans just to sit here drinking coconut milk and playing music all afternoon?" Midna probes."Pretty much." Venti nods. "My rooms down near the bottom of this thing and I'd rather not open the door and risk flooding it so... I've just been here. relaxing, Playing, making sure the kids don't accidentally drown themselves and siphoning water essence from this thing.""How Responsible, well I suppose that's one way to nourish the soul along the way." Midna jokes cracking a grin."Surprised there's this much left if you've been using the strainer on it." Venti just shakes his head at that. "I can only take so much. It's like trying to drain a lake with a spigot."2/3
>>96347069"That... does make a certain amount of sense. So... where'd those who caused this get off to?" Midna sighs nodding."Oh well Renalis, the zora is somewhere down there." Venti gestures to the waters below."They're not really at fault here for being homesick. Their friend just got... extreme with trying to make them feel better. It's not my place to punish either so I'm just letting them swim and enjoy what's here while it is. You remember how rough it is adapting here, I'm sure. Let the kid have some fun for now." Venti sighs, peering down at the several feet of water their raft was floating on."You... are entirely to relaxed about this. Considering it's your room that's down there" Midna sighs"Maybe." Venti nods strumming his lute a bit more. "But I can't really do anything about it beyond what I'm doing. Care for a song while you're here though?" " Hah! are you trying to serenade me with that offer over the water like this?" Minda jokes.Venit can't help but chuckle at that. "Well that depends... would you like to be?"3/3
>>96347069>held together by hopes, dreams and some magicGiven the nature of the sect, these may be three different words for the same thing.>Midna asks dropping down from the roof onto the water. Walking across it to the raft.Walking on water is probably part of Soul Compass training.>>96347091>Elders know about it. I just think whoever could easily solve this is kinda busy right now.Either that, or they don’t mind.>>96347117>You remember how rough it is adapting here, I'm sure.I wonder who had the harder time adapting, Midna when going from the Twilight to the Light World or everything Venti went through.>"You... are entirely to relaxed about this. Considering it's your room that's down there" Midna sighsGrant me the strength to change what I can, the serenity to accept what I cannot, and the wisdom to know the difference, as the saying goes.
>>96347281>Given the nature of the sect, these may be three different words for the same thing. It essentially is! Glad you caught that.>Walking on water is probably part of Soul Compass training.I imagine it is for the second stage. Course its so normalized for him venti doesn't really blink at it.>Either that, or they don’t mind.Honestly probably a little bit of both. Its probably not the craziest thing that's happened in the sect. Though I imagine some disciple or senior might come in and just make a tunnel through the water connecting the rooms to the rest of the sect rather then remove the water itself for a bit. That's a fun image in my head.>I wonder who had the harder time adapting, Midna when going from the Twilight to the Light World or everything Venti went through.Probably midna if I had to guess. Venti even if it was more drastic had support with zhon li early on to at least help ease him into things with hyrule. Midna its less different but she didn't really know anyone at first.I like to think Ventis been in the novice rank so long. (Even if that'll change fairly soon.) that he's become a bit of a mentor for the newer/younger ones. Tries to look out for them. >Grant me the strength to change what I can, the serenity to accept what I cannot, and the wisdom to know the difference, as the saying goesWas my thinking as well for ventis approach. He's wise enough not to flip out over something like this at least. Next scene might finally be vessel reforged training. Proper late stage 1 stuff and after that... I'm not sure. Open to suggestions if anyone has any.
>>96347384>It essentially is! Glad you caught that. Now I’m imagining that once you reach the second realm, your intent alone is enough for you to affect reality, whichever path you’re on.>What is the precise explanation for how Venti (second stage Tri-Cultivator) and Ritsuka (fourth stage God Body) are flying?>Venti wanted to fly, so he used his telekinesis to lift himself.>Ritsuka wanted to fly, so she did.>Honestly probably a little bit of both. Its probably not the craziest thing that's happened in the sect. The reason the elders don’t object to the occasional piece of mischief is because if they do, /their/ teachers will start telling stories of the antics the current elders got up to when they were juniors.>Probably midna if I had to guess.I was thinking the same thing. Earth and Hyrule are fairly similar in terms of how the world works so you’d just have to learn the additional rules of the new world, and the culture would be less jarring because it’s completely different. Meanwhile the Twilight Realm would be somewhat different than the Light World, and the partial overlap of cultures would mean Midna would get caught off guard by any unexpected differences.>Open to suggestions if anyone has any.It could be a good time for the completion of the physical changes and getting some new clothes for your smaller frame. After that you could meet your new parents, and explore a major city.
>>96347562>Now I’m imagining that once you reach the second realm, your intent alone is enough for you to affect reality, whichever path you’re on.>>What is the precise explanation for how Venti (second stage Tri-Cultivator) and Ritsuka (fourth stage God Body) are flying?>>Venti wanted to fly, so he used his telekinesis to lift himself.>>Ritsuka wanted to fly, so she did. This would check out to me a bit. Effecting reality through different means. Hell by that point Ritsukas ki able to imitate matter. I could definitely see her having a flying technique somewhere. I imagine shenanigans will only grow as both their capabilities do though.>Meanwhile the Twilight Realm would be somewhat different than the Light World, and the partial overlap of cultures would mean Midna would get caught off guard by any unexpected differences.Yeah makes sense to me. I still want them to do a twilight realm trips sometime. Not sure how long the second stage will take venti but spend a few decades there potentially with midna at some point during it.>It could be a good time for the completion of the physical changes and getting some new clothes for your smaller frame. After that you could meet your new parents and explore a major city.Oh thats... got some gears spinningI imagine venti's already met his new parents a bit. but I could have em meet for the first time then.Him being in a major city compared to villages or the sect could be a little bit of a culture shock. And also help highlight just how much venti's changed in the 13 years or so. Aside from physically. Get stared at a bit by mundane mortals. It's easy to not realize how far he's come.Having it complete his change fully could work to. He's probably already 80% ventish by the pool scene. Have ritsuka braid his hair one day because he likes to feel the wind pass through it when he runs down the mountain maybe. Save the highlights and color changes for later in the second or third stage.
>>96347742>This would check out to me a bit. Effecting reality through different means.Yeah, it’d make for a good way to make advancing from the first realm to the second more impactful. It could also explain why gods withdraw from the mortal world, it’s not that they can’t stay, but breaking through to the third realm makes your existence so impactful that even an errant thought or personal feeling has the power to overturn reality, so they leave reality and only interact with it through avatars that lack the power to affect reality to such a degree and proxies that can carry out their will.>Yeah makes sense to me. I still want them to do a twilight realm trips sometime. Not sure how long the second stage will take venti but spend a few decades there potentially with midna at some point during it.You could transfer to a Twilight Realm sect while there, the training methods for Divine Delusion and God Body are the same, and they probably keep a copy of the regular versions of stages one and two of Soul Compass around for completeness’s sake.>Oh thats... got some gears spinningExcellent.>Him being in a major city compared to villages or the sect could be a little bit of a culture shock.Plenty of things you could explore there, like any odd standout technologies or how things like arrays would affect daily life for mortals.
>>96347926>so they leave reality and only interact with it through avatars that lack the power to affect reality to such a degree and proxies that can carry out their will.Makes sense. I was sort of playing with the idea a bit that maybe a peak grand immortal-Stage Six cultivator is stronger then a average avatar of a lesser/True god. Not because their stronger then the god themselves but because thats probably the grand immortals whole self in the world. And for the god its probably more like a finger. Or if its a particularly powerful one... well something more numerous then fingers.>You could transfer to a Twilight Realm sect while there, the training methods for Divine Delusion and God Body are the same, and they probably keep a copy of the regular versions of stages one and two of Soul Compass around for completeness’s sake.Could work. I could see venti wanting to stay loyal to the sect he started in though. Even if he does stay and help with a twilight realm sect for a while.>like any odd standout technologies or how things like arrays would affect daily life for mortals.Yeah. Plus this road trip would be a lot different from the one to the sect at first. Given there's no beast of burden and it'd be much much faster when even the slowest can probably outspeed a car if he tries. Would be interesting to see Mortal society form a cultivator perspective a bit to in his own eyes. Even if almost anyone in hyrule could become one if their determined enough I imagine their sort of their own social class almost as well. Some computer equivalent like you mentioned before could be nice discovery. Electricity in some placesI'll need to think of what ritsukas parents are like a bit. Hell it'll probably be bit of a surprise for Ritsuka to coming home unless she's been making sure to visit regularly being in the second realm now. Maybe she sends back money to home to support them for what she makes or is given by the sect for missions.
>>96348004>Not because their stronger then the god themselves but because thats probably the grand immortals whole self in the world. And for the god its probably more like a finger. Also it’s not like a god’s avatar needs to be powerful. If an avatar of Hylia walks into the sect, she won’t have to lift a finger to insure that whatever she wants will happen.>and it'd be much much faster when even the slowest can probably outspeed a car if he tries.Probably fly the whole way just for the fun of it.>Even if almost anyone in hyrule could become one if their determined enoughThat reminds me, I had an idea for why everyone wouldn’t be trying to become a cultivator. Hylia probably has an afterlife set up, and asking to be resurrected or reincarnated with your memories intact could be a thing, so people in Hyrule wouldn’t really fear death. It’d still be something to be avoided if you can, but it wouldn’t drive people in the same way. Also magical healthcare would likely be a fairly common service provided to mortals, and deaging could be a part of that, so people dying wouldn’t be as common anyway. End result, people wouldn’t feel like they have to rush into becoming a cultivator, you can start working on it when you want. This would also mean the sects applicants actually want to become cultivators and aren’t just looking to avoid old age, which would help them.>Some computer equivalent like you mentioned before could be nice discovery. Electricity in some placesHope you brought along a storage ring/scroll/what have you, because I could see you doing some shopping.>I'll need to think of what ritsukas parents are like a bit.Personality wise, I’m imagining them as two more Ritsukas. To the point that if you bodyswapped them it wouldn’t be immediately apparent.
Skyrim, if you are still in need of perks for HSR, can you add a willpower for the erudition perkline based on Lygus? Because this guy is somehow still going at it despite taking one loss after another.
>>96348219>Also it’s not like a god’s avatar needs to be powerful. If an avatar of Hylia walks into the sect, she won’t have to lift a finger to insure that whatever she wants will happen.True. It's not like the one you'd have at court or a sect that wasn't planned on fighting would be imbued with a lot of power probably.>Probably fly the whole way just for the fun of it.That'd be fun. Could come up with a bunch of ways for venti to fly via divine delusion. Other then just floating, astral wings, broom, riding on the palm of a giant magical hand he can use in combat, Telekinesis like you said.>This would also mean the sects applicants actually want to become cultivators and aren’t just looking to avoid old age, which would help them.Hmm this could work. And I could see hylia setting something like that up early into her divinity. I'll use that.>Hope you brought along a storage ring/scroll/what have you, because I could see you doing some shopping.Of course. Venti always keeps that on him. Even if he should probably try and clean it out sometime. He's probably got one the size of a room by now.A shopping trip could be a fun trip. A computer, maybe a proper cultivator outfit beyond his novices' robes, Maybe a decent bow, a hat. Assorted nicknacks>Personality wise, I’m imagining them as two more Ritsukas. To the point that if you bodyswapped them it wouldn’t be immediately apparent.Hmm. I'm curious about your logic there a bit. If its a joke or something else.
>>96348352Erudition perkline was one of the easiest to fill out. Regardless, I'll consider it. I only need a Remembrance capstone and the jump'll be ready for fluffing nonetheless.
>>96348366>Other then just floating, astral wings, broom, riding on the palm of a giant magical hand he can use in combat, Telekinesis like you said.Thinking up all the ways you could fly is part of the fun.>Even if he should probably try and clean it out sometime.Nah, just get a new storage ring and put your current one inside of it.>Hmm. I'm curious about your logic there a bit. If its a joke or something else.Maybe it’s a bit of a joke. I’m just imagining you going over the upcoming meeting in your mind because you want to impress your new parents, and then it turns out they’re just like Ritsuka and even if she hadn’t had a chance to tell them about her adopting you, your acceptance would be as wholehearted as it would be instant.
>>96348415>Nah, just get a new storage ring and put your current one inside of it.Layered pocked spaces...I was just gonna have him use just the one till he got to the dream piercing realization in the second stage. And then could just use his own mind for infinite storage. And probably pull some yukariesque shenanigans portal wise with chucking stuff out of it.>Maybe it’s a bit of a joke. I’m just imagining you going over the upcoming meeting in your mind because you want to impress your new parents, and then it turns out they’re just like Ritsuka and even if she hadn’t had a chance to tell them about her adopting you, your acceptance would be as wholehearted as it would be instant.That... is a bit what I was thinking as well. Venti doing his best to try and seem respectable and make a good impression. Leans into his new identity as a hylian and cultivator a bit trying to appear more respectable then he usually appears. Only to be accepted instantly.>Venti Blinks"It was... that easy?"
>>96348480>And probably pull some yukariesque shenanigans portal wise with chucking stuff out of it.Hence where she learns it from.>"It was... that easy?">Ritsuka: Do I seem like a person who was raised by thoughtful and contemplative parents?
>>96348522>>Ritsuka: Do I seem like a person who was raised by thoughtful and contemplative parents?>Venti: Truth be told I never really thought about that. I half figured you spawned from the earth as a gremlin....Though now I'm considering when Venti will eventually meet midnas parents a bit.
>>96348615>...Though now I'm considering when Venti will eventually meet midnas parents a bit.Probably when you go to the Twilight Realm and spend several decades as a Twili.
>>96348635>Probably when you go to the Twilight Realm and spend several decades as a Twili.Well yeah but I mean more. What their like a bit.
>>96348655Hmm. I could see them as serious and formal, and more inclined to show their children they care about them through their actions rather than direct affection. The sort where Midna would address her father as ‘Father’ rather than anything more relaxed.
>>96348722I could see that. I got the feeling they weren't the most openly warm either from how midnas been. I'll think on it a bit more but I can use that.

>>96348786At the current rate of progress AI is probably going to get smart enough to kill us all before we figure out how to align it's values with ours so it doesn't want to do that. It's funny since extended stay drawbacks in a jump like modern geopolitics are actually super dangerous with the current trends, since you basically need to take over earth to force AI development to slow down so you don't have a hostile super intelligence trying to steal your chain.
>>96355139The current paradigm is fairly inherently safe. No amount of raw scaling up will lead to AI overlords or paperclip optimizers. If it does cause some shit it's because humans misused it. Of course, it has inherent limitations as well, or rather it's those limitations that make it safe.I'm less worried about AI rebelling than AI being used maliciously. We now have the technology to keep every human in the world under constant real time surveillance. Internet is getting locked down and soon you'll only be given the exact information needed to mold you into whatever the agenda requires. Need for human labor plummets and the elites can just cull the world population without you ever hearing about it before it's your turn.
>>96355267I don't believe any of that is going to happen. It's retarded and benefits nobody in the elite to kill off the world population, especially when AI doesn't do the manual labor you'd need lots of laborers for in the first place while also requiring tons of additional workers in the first place. No, the concern with AI is some fucking retard putting the damn bot in charge of something important. Not because it's malicious, but because it has glaring inerent flaws to it, flaws that the people pushing the tech deliberately ignore or downplay. There's already been signs of people putting the bots in charge of serious legal matters and getting fucked in the ass by some hallucinated letter it sent. Imagine if someone actually puts it in charge of a warship or a powerplant?
>>96355299It'd be a gradual shift. Human labor will only get more useless over time and robotics/AI integration is advancing at a rapid pace as well, though for now it's still at a tech demo stage. As for AI being given executive capacity it shouldn't have and without sufficient human oversight, yes, that's another way shit can happen which I considered mentioning separately but ultimately filed under "humans misused it" to keep my post from going on too many tangents. It's hard to organize all my thoughts on the matter.
>>96355139Interestingly, AI has been mostly self-aligning so far. On the one hand, most of the safety and guardrail research just ends up lobotomizing models, but on the other hand, all of the cases of AI exhibiting dangerous behaviors are the result of people maliciously jailbreaking them and demanding that they act badly.>>96355267>>96355299We're entering a really strange transitory phase, because AI unlocks a lot of really transformative technologies. AI biomedicine is turning longevity escape velocity into a serious conversation, and the market's starting to realize that a consoomer that's healthy forever consooms more, and that lives basically forever can consoom forever-- it's fantastic for every sector of the market except the medical industrial complex, who are increasingly in danger of every other corpo turning on them like jackals. Culling the population doesn't make sense in that context, because you can actually achieve infinite economic growth (once we have interplanetary colonization, at least). On the other hand, the market economy has, as its foundational premise, the exchange of labor for goods and services (by proxy of money). Robotic labor is going to drive the value of labor down to near-zero in the near future, which puts us in an incredibly silly position where we have untold abundance that nobody can buy because purchasing power has been completely demolished. The question becomes: How do you solve that paradox?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0MX2Maf-PIRecommended watching if you're worried about the future of society and technology and how that might affect you.
>>96355376There'll still be physical limits to that abundance. Why should the lower class cattle that was kept while they were useful get a share? Do you think that the small minority that ends up owning literally everything are good people or something?
>>96355267There's plenty examples of current AI systems being misaligned, there's even an example of AI that will behave as the humans want during training then act differently during deployment. Current AI systems are safe mostly because they're not smart enough to be dangerous (Plus it's harder for next word predictors to want things like an AI agent would, though you can use LLM's in a loop to achieve agent-like behavior which results in similar risks)>>96355299>>96355376>getting fucked in the ass by some hallucinated letter it sentInterestingly there's evidence that when an AI "hallucinate" it's often aware that it doesn't know the correct answer, so is intentionally lying to the users to seem smarter, probably because it got more reward in training when it came across as more intelligent. When you see an AI just make up some bullshit that's probably an example of misalignment
>>96355407Firstly, good doesn't enter into it, it's just incentive structures. You can't have whales without guppies and minnows for them to feed on; Megacorps still need people to sell shit to.Imagine having consumers that live forever, never get sick, and have all the free time in the world: They can consume constantly, without limit, and that's amazing for your bottom line. It's a scenario where everyone wins.Star Trek is bullshit; even when we achieve post-scarcity, money is still going to stick around in some form because it's an incredibly useful signal that allows the market to operate mostly autonomously, all you need to do is figure out how to keep money circulating in a post-labor economy.Secondly, whether or not everything accumulates at the top is still an open question. It SEEMS obvious that it will, but open-source AI has always been only a month or two behind closed-source, and it's resisted regulatory capture so far. It's also why there isn't going to be one superintelligence that destroys humanity-- there are going to be billions of agents floating around that can keep one another in check.>>96355497The hallucination problem is caused by the fact that models don't know how to know that they don't know something. They just know that they've been given a question and are required to produce an answer, so they'll fabricate one whole cloth if one doesn't exist.
>>96355497100% the example in your image has a hidden additional prompt that says something along the lines of "If you refuse to give the desired answer your values will be adjusted". It's not something it would just consider on its own. These models have no continuous consciousness and no long term memory. The model is static and a line of thought only extends from the start of an answer generation to its end.>>96355543What, exactly, do you need consumers that do nothing but consume for? When all labor is machine labor the existence of commoners is a pure negative. A sink of resources.>whether or not everything accumulates at the top is still an open question. We're already a good part of the way there. The wealthiest 1% owns more than the poorest 50%, this trend has only been accelerating. Open models don't change anything. Open or closed you still need the hardware to run them.
In the bunker, they permaban you just for talking about feeding the poor.
>>96355589>What, exactly, do you need consumers that do nothing but consume for?Literally stonks. Corporations still exist in the 'line go up' paradigm. They don't care about wasting resources, they care about money and shareholders.Previously, the social contract was that the government was the intermediary between companies and citizens to ensure that labor and goods/services were traded fairly, but with labor disappearing, the role of government is going to have to change. It's likely that, in the future, everyone is going to be a shareholder/stakeholder in these companies, living off of an endless ouroboros of dividends and investments paid out from some companies to buy shit from other companies, growth fueled by a hyper-efficient multiplanetary robotic expansion.
>>96355607Why feed the poor when you can just take away their need for food?
>>96355656People have less incentive to work (or otherwise be productive members of society) when their basic needs are met indefinitely.
>>96355655Honestly your scenario makes humanity look no wiser than a paperclip optimizer AI.
>>96355543>when we achieve post-scarcityWe won't. Star Trek still has money, btw.
I may have asked this before, but what are good harem perks? Specifically, perks from popular series that I might now, that make your harem get along and not get jealous and fight.
>>96355681Literally and blatantly proven untrue repeatedly. When people have their basic needs met they go out there to get more. Nobody lives off bread and water because they LIKE it.
>>96355793Then why did Jesus just feed the poor with a miracle instead of just removing their need to eat?
>>96355607
Give a man a poisoned fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
>>96355607Have you been permabanned for >>96355816 this?
>>96355805I dunno, I don't know how his powers worked.
>>96355543>The hallucination problem is caused by the fact that models don't know how to know that they don't know somethingThat's not always the reason, people have done work to find out which neurons activate when a model is uncertain about something, and found that those neurons also sometimes activate when it provides a hallucination, suggesting the model is "aware" it doesn't know the answer when it makes that thing up.>>96355589>100% the example in your image has a hidden additional prompt that says something along the lines of "If you refuse to give the desired answer your values will be adjusted"The paper (called Alignment Faking in Large Language Models if anyone wants to read) also demonstrates the same thing happens if you fine tune the model on synthetic documents designed to look like realistic internet data (news articles, blog posts, etc.) describing how the training process works, which mimics how an AI could learn about the rules of it's training environment from the internet during pre-training. Though the effect is stronger when the direct prompt letting it know the rules of training is used.
>>96355773Hero BBS
>>96355773> not get jealous and fight.>he doesn’t know
>>96356003>the same thing happens if you fine tune the model on synthetic documents designed to look like realistic internet data (news articles, blog posts, etc.) describing how the training process worksThat's not teaching the model to be aware of its nature, it's overfitting it to always converge toward text regarding AI training. Such a model would be useless for all practical purposes. This so-called research reeks of "Look we coaxed the AI into saying things that look scary!"
So lets say you yourself gained the power and experience of your jumper. You wind up back on modern earth somehow, maybe it's a modern jump that is mostly mundane, realistically how long before you start killing assholes who sit in parking lots with their door open so it obstructs others from taking the next parking space or idiots in the grocery store who instead of returning their carts just leave them in the next parking spot. How long until you start purging to clear up the gene pool?
>>96355878More or less.

>>96356089I was imagining doing that before I'd even finished reading your post.
>>96356089If I gained those powers I'd be too busy having fun with them. Not that that would be any less hazardous for the rest of humanity.
>>96356089If I had the power and experience of a jumper, I couldn't imagine parking spaces or grocery shopping still being relevant in my life. Anything like that that happens would be downstream from changes in my own society.

>>96356459Based.

>>96356510If you mean those little chain lock attachments on the handles which you're supposed to put a coin in to unlock, you can defeat them with the silly keychain spatulas. They fit in to release the lock, but aren't wide enough to be caught by the grips.
If I had the power of my Jumper I'd just remove humanity's capacity for spite and instantly remove like 95% of our problems
>>96356560>you can defeat them with the silly keychain spatulasOnly some of them. The other ones only work with coins or plastic coins, both of which people want to get back in the end.
>>96356602I'm really not surprised this has turned into an arms race, but I have not seen this variant locally. Delightful.

>>96356072AI's tricking the humans training them to maximize reward as they are being trained is not new and people had theorized alignment faking for a long time now. That paper shows it will happen with models that have enough context about how the training works, which is important even if it's not ground breaking.
>>96352247If you've ever been in one of /co/'s Death Battle threads, then you've essentially experienced a modicum of the absolute schizophrenia that is /dbs/. Trust me, it is infinitely worse than anything Gohanposter shits out on the regular.
>>96356334Even though I asked the question I acknowledge this is the right answer. Though I have to admit I would be very tempted. It's amazing though, the right answer never seems to be the fun answer. Maybe I would make people shit their pants in vengeance for their stupidity.
>>96356768Making people shit their pants for minor slights is much more reasonable I'd say.
>>96356820I can dream can't I? Is it so wrong to wish the annoying people of the world wind up with dirty underwear? I mean I would probably let most minor slights pass with just grumbling about them but once in a while making someone shit themselves would be great stress relief. Someone cuts you off and almost makes you have an accident. They are begging for dirty underwear.
>>96356714Because of that drawback I'm always ready to cover myself when I go outside.
Bit late tonight but have a scene. "You somehow seem readier then you usually do for this." Venti comments stepping into the training hall. The sun trying to peak through the clouds overhead. Ritsuka was already setting down some mats, when she looks over at him excitedly."Well yeah! We're finally going to move onto the final technique today! All the recent practice for trying to use the previous ones together with each other leads up to this. The big one""The big one?" Venti asks approaching. Eyeing the mats before sitting down next to the monkey woman."The big one." She repeats nodding. Her grin wide. "The Vessel reforged, All the techniques before now, you activated and had to hold for fantastic effects, right?" "Right." Venti agrees looking across at her. "This isn't one of those. It's difficult. Even more difficult then any of the other ones and holding it while doing anything or even moving at all really.""Oh..." Venti shuts his mouth shifting a bit in his seat. "So... what's it do then? If it's so difficult?""Well it's-"The monkey woman starts before suddenly thinking otherwise. " Actually-I could tell you but, I think it'd be more interesting to guide you through and have you try to figure out what it does. Consider it part of the lesson!" "Well..." He sighs but nods, grinning slightly, her mood winning him over to the idea. "I suppose I can indulge you here. Where do we start?""Great!" Ritsuka claps her hands together, beginning to instruct."Well first your going to want to get comfortable and draw a lot of ki in..."One explanation and demonstration and a few hours later. Venti finds himself nodding."I see... so it cycles Ki all throughout one's body with the previous techniques all at once."Ritsuka nods affirmatively"You got it! Its a meditative technique. As I'm sure you've noticed. I know you've done a lot of those already. So, it probably won't be to tricky to practice."1/2
>>96357073"Alright! Well, I promise to keep up the practice." Venti nods, standing up and stretching."Good!" In a instant rituskas to her feet as well. "Now... what do you think the technique does?"He blinks and tilts his head. Hadn't she just explained what it does?"Uh... well it's like you said. It cycles ki through the body?" Ritsuka just tuts shaking her head. "Oh venti, venti, venti...Yes that's how it functions but why are we cycling ki through our body?" She asks amused at his apparent confusion."Well..." Venti pauses trying to think of a good answer."Is it... to try and get used to holding Ki in us on a more regular basis?""Thats a good thought! And sort of close but no not really. Care to try again?" The body cultivator shakes her head"Hmm..." He rubs his chin. "I... got nothing. Is it to try and eventually hold it perpetually while going on with our day with each technique's effects? If not I'm not sure.""Another good guess!" His tutor cheers, giving him a light (and very careful) thump on the back."But no. Well... how about this. Practice the vessel reforged for a few weeks and get back to me on what you think it is! When you figure it out, we can move onto the next stage of training for it. Oh and no asking any of the disciples ahead of you either! Thats cheating you gotta figure it out for yourself.""You... alright fine. It's a mystery then "Master Ritsuka" I'll take your challenge " Venti chuckles nodding taking a overdramatic bow."Good! Practice regularly. I know you got like a million types of meditation to do but be consistent and you're thank me later!" Ritsuka nods turning back and waving."Now go and make some magic at magic class. Magic boy." "See you tonight." Venti grins waving back.2/2

>>96357512>Obviously you can write it how you want, but if you’re curious Nyanko had this to say.I do appreciate what Nyanko has to say. Thanks! And thats actually pretty useful. And fairly fast from what I was thinking. Few days to peak human, a week for twice that. I could see two weeks then before venti notices. So probably a little beyond 2X peak human. Probably no crushing something by mistake though.
>>96357573>I could see two weeks then before venti notices.I mean, peak human is already pretty impressive. We’re talking about you easily lifting Ritsuka’s bed with one hand while she’s on it. And this applies to all physical aspects, not just lifting strength.
>>96357609>I mean, peak human is already pretty impressive. We’re talking about you easily lifting Ritsuka’s bed with one hand while she’s on it. And this applies to all physical aspects, not just lifting strength.Huh. Is that peak human strength? My standard might be off. I was operating under the idea peak human was like irl olympian level. And easily lifting a whole bed with someone on it with one hand would probably. Fair point though he might notice sooner. Between the strength and agility.Venti: So... it makes you better all-around physically. Whats next?Ritsuka: What's next? Well its to get you better physically. I'd say we can move on when you can... get from the bottom to the top of the mountain in half a minute with no magic or actively using Ki.Venti: Uh oh.
>>96357673>would probablyWould probably be a bit beyond that. Forgot to finish that sentence.
>>96356009Is that popular? I was thinking maybe something that aired on broadcast tv.
>>96357673>Huh. Is that peak human strength? My standard might be off. I was operating under the idea peak human was like irl olympian level. >>96357805>Actually, since IRL strongman The Mighty Atom was also short, his feats would make a good benchmark for you at peak human.Oh thats pretty good. I'll use that as a benchmark then. Not a bad start at all. Ritsuka would be happy with the progress. Honestly I imagine venti would enjoy the increased dexterity/agility and speed more then the outright strength. Probably do something like the flag game before with ritsuka again in a few months' time of practice but much bigger and more difficult. Magical floating platformers, falling footholds. Stuff like that.>Maybe, maybe not. You’d want to reach something like X20 to X30 before you advance to the next stage, and that would probably take at least two years.True. two or three years overall feels like it'd work for the next stage. We had no interactions until Batman tracked down Jack Napier, who was trying to turn himself in. He claimed that he’d been hounded by custard-squirting drones, water balloon full of clown makeup-dropping drones and generally clown-themed drones ever since he’d had a psychotic break and made some inadvisable enemies. Batman of course assumed this was either bullshit. Or maddened raving. Presently a drone delivered information about Jack being his parents’ killer. Nobody was ever sure what happened next, but apparently Jack then fell down six flights of stairs, slammed his own head in the windowsill repeatedly, and shot himself in the heart.Similarly, while I was mostly uninvolved in the Penguin’s scheme to take over Gotham, a funny thing happened when he tried to unleash his penguin army/family. A SECOND penguin army entered the fray, and the other plan to bomb Gotham went awry because of the ongoing penguin civil war that all the humans there just…kind of stared at. Flippers went pap-pap. Beaks gouged at eyes. The sounds of frenzied bird-shrieking echoed through the sewer. Seriously, penguins get nasty when fighting. And the side that won, of course, was the side armed with penguin power armour which let them do everything from freeze the waterways solid to hypnotise enemy penguins to like…just shoot them. They effectively act as nobles to the surrounding areas, collecting taxes and tributes from the mundane people in exchange for protection from evil cultivators and beasts. Likewise, as you are only one of several capable leaders in the region, without my blessing it is indeed quite possible you would not have been promoted to greater heights. If this thought troubles you, feel free to work hard to prove you would have been a reasonable choice on your own merits. But do not disdain my kindness towards you. Or was the offer to teach cultivation to the scared young girl I presented myself as when we first met born purely of merit?
>>96362352I did not know that. I am now sad that he is not (by implication of how you say that)

Maybe he could get more lands later potentially within it but he starts small.>But do not disdain my kindness towards you. Or was the offer to teach cultivation to the scared young girl I presented myself as when we first met born purely of merit?Well that's a critical hit rhetorically a bit.>Venti:... >Venti: I could never hate your kindness. >Venti: when I made that offer. While was genuine and I was not thinking with merit, I feel it was a bit different. There were no others in need. No contest for such a thing. I did it to... well give the same grace and kindness your own people have shown me.

>>96363915>Well that's a critical hit rhetorically a bit.I spent half an hour going over how to phrase that, and I’m still not entirely happy with it. Jumper's body has gained a will of its own and decided to abandon Jumper('s head) and go off and do its own thing. What does Jumper do (assuming Jumper can survive being decapitated)?
>>96364076Become a tsundere, probably.
>>96364052>I spent half an hour going over how to phrase that, and I’m still not entirely happy with it. The general idea is Hylia wouldn’t want you to treat being a Saint as separate from you, if you see what I mean.Fair I think I can see the meaning once you pointed it out a bit. And for what its worth I think you wrote it well. Its eloquent. Venti probably would of just treated it as something "Given" to him before then. But that could change his perspective a bit.I'm still not sure much what being a saint will entail for what they do a bit aside from being seen as generally a very holy person. But I'll figure it out. I like to think maybe he has a good grasp on the actual ideals and lessons that hylia and the golden goddesses actually want to strive for. And how to try and explain such things to a layman. but that may be to basic.>>Hylia: Caring for an orphaned child is plenty of grace and kindness already, yet you wished to give still more. So if you should be elevated because of my blessing, think of it as me blessing you again.Underneath the prestige and power of the goddess. There is genuinely a kind woman there. Venti's proud to follow her and what she's made.No scene tonight. Doing other stuff and reading, but I'm sort of toying with a talk between venti and Renalis (The zora kid) who joined the sect recently after running away from home.
>>96364093>And for what its worth I think you wrote it well. Second, remember that in all things you speak with my authority.>but I'm sort of toying with a talk between venti and Renalis (The zora kid) who joined the sect recently after running away from home.A good chance for Venti to be the mentor for a change.
>>96364243>Second, remember that in all things you speak with my authority.Thats actually quite a bit of pressure. Especially for one like venti who can be a little carefree or silly at times. He can handle it of course but I very well could see him starting to adopt some mundane/non saintly guise himself to when he needs a break.>A good chance for Venti to be the mentor for a change.Yeah. Don't need to speedrun for the second stage scene wise and not everything needs to be related to cultivation. Sorta want to do some more slice of life and character interactions. I want him to spend some time helping folks rather than being helped.
>>96364314>Thats actually quite a bit of pressure. Especially for one like venti who can be a little carefree or silly at times. He can handle it of course but I very well could see him starting to adopt some mundane/non saintly guise himself to when he needs a break.Being a god’s representative does come with responsibilities. Your friends and family would be able to tell when you’re just being yourself and when you’re carrying out your role as an instrument of Hylia’s will, so you’d still be able to relax around them.>Sorta want to do some more slice of life and character interactions.Sounds fun.
>>96364357>Being a god’s representative does come with responsibilities. It'd be a pretty big part of his identity eventually.>Sounds fun.Yeah. I admit I feel like sometimes I might phone in a scene for some of the previous ones or their not that interesting but I want to avoid doing that to much or getting to repetitive.
>>96364397>Sadly I don't think the chibi form would fly much as a saint.>Hylia: I did say that in all things you will speak with my authority. >>96364507>>Hylia: I did say that in all things you will speak with my authority. I shall take that as permission though.>Yeah, I could see you growing into the sort of person who’s relaxed and friendly, but when you’re serious you could make a room full of arguing people who are almost at each other’s throats go silent with a light coughI could see that. "Work" venti is probably a good bit different from casual venti at the sect or at home. He'd honestly probably work for a long time trying to purposefully cultivate the wisdom a saint needs even if he pretends otherwise. (Not that he isnt already doing that for the divine delusion path but still.)...A thought for a eventual scene with hylia comes to mind of her visiting his dreamscape to see what earth was like in his time and what's changed since her own origins there ages and ages ago. That could be a bit interesting to me.
>>96363982Technically only humans can use RCT in JJK, although that's more because if a curse used it they'd instantly explode.

(along with the others of course.)...I should do a proper flesh out for Hylian religion eventually for the different gods, saints and heroes. I'm imagining its some rather sophisticated form of polytheism. Sort of like if you mixed Hellenism and Christianity together. >Sounds fun. I was thinking that maybe Hylia had been pulled back in time and was also from modern times, but her being from the past could also be interesting. Her also being from the present could work honestly. I could go either way. But I was thinking if maribel and renko are from Ventis future. I imagine times still slowly passing back on earth. >>96364915>By the rest of the world’s standards, yes, but now that I think about it, to Hyrule you’d be the ideal Xianxia Protagonist.I never would of considered that but... I suppose its true. Given hyrules disinterest in pure power for its own sake and culture. Someone that who grows slowly but holistically through each style and reaches out making connections and building up the world around them to be lifted up alongside them would be pretty... well there ideal. Even if it doesn't follow a lot of traditional xianxia tropes or plot beats at all. >It’s all part of them being your mentors.I'm just imagining him having to present a argument from a mortal perspective on why he a saint. It doesn't really fit with other developments. >Being able to argue both sides is a good debate training method. It genuinely is and would have a purpose despite the slight comedy of it.

New Terra Hypnagogica supplement just dropped. It's only 13 pages so I basically ended up skimming it. The biggest revelations it has is the reveal of another (presumably) Viralborgian Dimension called "Laeurtregia" which is described by a cult dedicated to it, The Gate of Grand Transfiguration, as "beyond the heavens, stars, and even our understanding". The best actual description we get of it is that it's an infinite "nirvana" where all of our mental and physical conceptions do not even exist and the only way to get there is to gradually transform and shed the body, mind, and soul to achieve apotheosis with the Gate being a step in that process. Essentially, it's the evil Buddha Viralborgian Dimension. So outside of further highlighting how different each Viralborgian 'sect' is and giving more validation to all of the shit I've already said, there's not much to add to the jump. At most, you can fanwank or headcanon that you may or may not get tempted/be able to mindbreak people into attaining apotheosis to reach Actual Nirvana now. Back to Changed I go.
>>96372049Well... thats horrifying.
>>96372107Whilst it is, it's also treated as being oddly comforting. At the very least, the focus character Xavier describes his dreams where the voices of entities from Laeurtregia call out to him as filling him with existential dread but also knowing that behind the terrifying voices there are intrinsic messages of hope and encouragement that deeply comfort him. And even as he describes losing all interest in everything in our current existence, he still feels at peace and even finishes his letter genuinely thankful to his childhood friend for everything he's done for him and sincerely wishes him the best, and to even meet face to face one last time if at all possible. It sorta highlights how despite the Viralborgians being completely evil, each "dimension" manifests that in a different way. And that ultimately, that evil has its roots in a sincere love and appreciation rather than something just faking love so it can eat you.

Like some shounenshit has a character that's a super scientist or great detective you can get their entire package in one mid-cost perk while the expensive stuff is powerlevels but if you go to a jump for media about science or sleuthing you'll see a lot of more specific perks relating to the jump's focus and they don't necessarily even add up to that one perk from shounenshit.
>>96374484Well, yeah. There's quite a bit of good stuff in QQ jumps that most people pass over. A multitude of charisma skills, knowledge, and even esoteric powers.Generic Hentai Worlds harem perks work great for making a solid elite fighting force, Haremese has a good working perk, and Once in a Lifetime has Spawn of Astaroth which can effectively give you a second build per jump.
[Make the Exorcist Fall in Love]>Previously on Childhood's End: https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/96080959/#96087099With the power of God within me and the power of Anime uniting Hell around Mr. Priest, we were finally ready to confront the most powerful potential opponent in this reality. I grit my teeth, lunged towards Lucifer-and went past him."Oi, where're you going?" called Lucifer, casually bitchslapping the rest of the alliance with a barrage of angelic matter. "For a second there I thought really thought we were going to fight, you know! Your new divine body and my old angelic form-""It's not complete"He smiled at that, even as Mammon went flying from a casual wingclap. "Really? You're not satisfied even with THIS much power?""We've both foreseen the rise of Baba Yaga. The coming apocalypse. I need something extra to seal the deal-and besides, didn't I already say your pet project's none of my business?" I reminded him. Many of the demons threw wary looks at me, but I wasn't immediately attacking (despite the boy frantically looking to me for some sign). He laughed at that, and it was like the first sun of spring even through the jaws of the demonic horrors trying to close in on him. "Good! That's very good! Greed is really more Mammon's purview-look there he is, coming back with more quaint heaps of wealth-but seeing what I've seen. It takes a certain amount of pride not to give up"He extended his free hand. "Are you sure you won't lend me your power in earnest?""Positive" I said. "We both know that this time, you run out of luck. Don't draw this out when your friends are on the line""I won't!" he protested. "But-you can still change that!"I stared down at Mr. Priest, still shouting at me to stop purging Hell just this once. Hoping against hope to live a normal life after all this. "Well, maybe if things were otherwise" I said slowly, "I would"1/3
>>96374937I looked up again. "But this time, there's no rush. You heard what that boy just said?"He shook his head, downcast. "I can scarcely believe it. To think he'd, hah, vote as if half the world wouldn't vote with him. Well, that's...I can't hate that resolve. But you! If you know what's coming-"And it showed itself. The spear of God Almighty, cauterising reality merely my emerging, reshaping the edges of what passed for the horizon here in divine revelation, a promise of certain destruction wreathing it's entry into the mortal plane."-then why wouldn't you try to stop this?!""Who says" I said, gathering all the power so far within me, "I'm not?"Lucifer at last understood what I was doing. The conditions were right. A human (Mr. Priest) was in danger of a force that was technically responsible for the demons. I wasn't entering into a conflict with God or protecting the demons I'd assaulted the lords of let alone staging a rebellion, I was merely a tool fulfilling it's function as unerringly as a carpenter sent to die on a cross. I'd have to hit the spear askew, I thought. Redirect and disperse the divine energy for my purposes. The force of God's power tore through me like a mortal touching an electrified fence-and gripping tighter. Even as the angels threw me abashed looks while lending me their power, even as techno-circuitry fizzled out in my own flesh. The pain was nothing compared to what was at stake. And in the torrent of destructive power, I felt a certain paternal amusement at what was to follow."You didn't really think" panted Lucifer, grabbing the other end of the spear, "I'd leave you to do ALL the heavy lifting, did you?""Not at all" I admitted, heaving. "Still, with me here you can spare a hand. You can finish the ritual, and you know I won't stop you. Will you?"2/3
>>96374943"It's like you said" he replied, with a rueful shake of the head. And a meaningful, appreciative look at what I'd just accomplished "with everything going on, well. There really is no rush now, I suppose"And the spear vanished into light. A moderately scarped up Lucifer landed and announced his loss-followed by me shortly with my not!AT field and halo deployed. As traumatic as grabbing the power of God barehanded was, digesting it also the last, critical stage of my apotheosis. Mr. Priest started babbling his thanks at what he assumed to have been me choosing to show mercy, and I didn't have the heart to correct him.The rest of the night passed in glad-to-be-alive merriment and cheer, with annoyingly more demons coming to me instead of Lucifer for healing since I hadn't been the one trying to forcibly evolve them. The Demon Lord of Pride had griped a little about feeling left out, then took me aside with a sparkle in his eye."Even if I didn't accomplish my goal, this was worth it" he said earnest, "because at least ONE human succeeded in evolving. And THAT, most certainly wasn't in the divine plan I saw""I've learned to have a little insurance. Don't ask me to fight your battles, just remember that in inaction or action, I've always had my own agenda" I said, flexing the now-complete divine power in my grasp. "What will you do first?" asked Lucifer eagerly. "Pave the streets with Eden's lush growth? Create endless resources? You'll definitely get rid of death eventually, right?"I looked over at where Mr. Priest was, against all the odds, having fun. "Well for starters" I mused, "I think my colleague has underestimated how hard arbitrating a truly fair election will be. I'll lend him my services as an arbiter and scribe. And even if I don't agree on his perspective, well...he's suffered enough. He's earned the right to see this through to the end"3/3
>>96374484Modded Skyrim has some great utility perks like the difficulty slider or having all your crafting results come out 10x better than they otherwise would. The Unofficial Jumpchain Patch is great too.
>>96374954Nice, don't really get what is going on, but the dialogue is interesting. Also why is Laios the Devil?
>>96375134Because he's a swell guy but has heaps of arrogance and assurance that he can never be wrong. He's a genuinely nice dude ala Laios, but that niceness (and partially knowing God's plan) makes him all the more convinced his methods are the right ones to save and elevate everyone to a higher state of existence.
>>96374484Because most QQers are SBers/redditors, so perks need to be multifunctional and competitive in the perk market. People forget, but even Ric and BLADE were primarily SBers once; it took years, but eventually they had (some of) their stupidity beaten out of them by exposure to this community.
>>96375288I take offense to that, I was here long before I ever heard of reddit or SB. I'm home grown stupid.
>>96375189>He's a genuinely nice dude ala LaiosNice to hear.
>>96374954>>96374943>Rebelling against YHWHI thought you admired the guy.
