>waiting for extremely toxic player to die of his terminal illness>the GM won't boot him because they're friends but expects us all to be nice>it's been years longer than the low life expectancy and further reported complicationsAt this point I think he has Münchausen syndrome. This guy fucks off when he gets lazy then comes back and tells a story about what a terrible time his treatment was. He's really ruining the campaign's vibe.Anyway. Bad RPG group story thread. Tell 'em.
your life sounds sad, if this is a big deal for you and you cant just find a new group. I guess it makes sense you are on /tg/.
>>96414611Maybe so, but not as sad as that decrepit piece of shit’s.
>>96415173You should set yourself higher goals than being better off than a terminally ill man.
>>96415195He’s a faker, and is just a terminally toxic fat faggot turning our game’s group into his narcissistic playground. Maybe share a story instead of going off.
>>96415205I'm currently in a story about interacting with a bad RPG player here, so this is all very much on-topic. You haven't actually even detailed anything particularly toxic done by that player, yourself, so why not start by setting a good example and properly sharing a story yourself?
>>96415222>takes his time to defend the idea of an extremely vile human being on the internet instead of staying on-topic.Thanks for bumping my thread, I guess.
>>96415241I'd probably react differently if you'd actually explain why and how that guy is extremely vile. As it is, you're just complaining about a seriously ill dude taking time off for treatment while claiming, without offering proof, that he's faking his illness. Pretty much the only impression anyone could possibly get from that is that you're an asshole. If you have actual horror stories to share about that guy, then share them.
Kill him
>>96415283Based. Best I can do is beseech the almighty nightly to end him, which should work.
>>96415300No, kill him, go to jail, let the rest of the group be free of you both.
>>96415241If you care about the group and believe in something akin to the human soul I think on a longer timescale you will be happier that you were compassionate and patient. If he's a faker like you insist>your anecdote does not cohere with the thread>you should be able to take it up with him like an adult
>>96414345Is it fucking ViladinI swear, if this ends up being another small world moment I'll laugh my ass off
>>96415316>on a longer timescale you will be happier that you were compassionate and patient. On the chance it isn’t Münchausen, the idea of him suffering longer is an upside but honestly not worth him ruining the group for another few years.
>>96415370Your story keeps changing.
>>96415370So, what, exactly, has he done to make you hate him so much?
>>96415316>If you care about the group and believe in something akin to the human soul I think on a longer timescale you will be happier that you were compassionate and patient.NTA, but recognizing the human soul also helped me notice how much of said soul can be replaced by literal parasites without the host knowing or losing basic social functions. This is very much not the same thing, but compassion and patience apply about as much as to a rabid dog or victim of demonic possession. Cut those types out of your life or if attacked, don't feel bad about defending yourself unless they were your close relatives/friends.
>>96415396I mean, if I was completely autistic I suppose I would have difficulty balancing caring for people with setting boundaries.
>>96415396Intelligent take.
>>96415385He insists upon himself.
>>96415405Not inaccurate.
>>96415405OP being Peter Griffin actually seems kind of plausible.
>>96414345Many such cases. I bet this is an online game.
any stories?
>>96414345Sounds like my brother. You should kill him.
>>96423245>Ask for applications>Imply that effort is required to get in>Mention that part of the campaign will be text-based>Still invite illiterate retards who give one sentence repliesKill yourself if you waste people's time like this.
>>96423245I’m sorry your brother is a fat sack of shit who pretends to have cancer, lol.
>>96414345First time I've seen this image since I actually learned chess and I have to say Black wins. A winners spirit wont save you from 4 rooks. Though the bishop is forking the rook and knight and the white knight is threatening the forked rooked.
>>96423328Yeah, black also has a handgun. I don't think it's a very equally matched meme.
>>96423328white's got 3 mana open thoughone swords to plowshares at the right moment might put black into checkmate. he has to play around thatblack's draw 4 card is basically useless because white WANTS 4 more cards in his hand
>>96426517The gun isn't loaded and its engravings provide no tactical advantage whatsoever.
>>96426722Perhaps you're right.
>>96426722It's a nice gun though, I'll give him that.
>>96426722I pistolwhip you.
>>96415385He put one of my night goblins in his mouth, said it was to prevent infetterance. I'm pretty sure that's not even a word!
>>96415385Didn't you read the OP? The asshole pretends to have a terminal illness in order to gain social favors and it makes the otherwise good group suck.Fucking moron-tier reading comprehension here on /tg/.
>>96436526>The asshole pretends to have a terminal illness in order to gain social favorsI think anon, me, and probably everyone else ITT are having trouble imagining how this plays out, or how it ruins a group. Can you give 1 anecdote?
>>96436575Wasn't the OP just pointing out that I'm able to read.
>>96414345I think player A can wrestle the gun from player B's hand, then force him to accept a checkmate by cheating and moving the pieces on the board how he wants
>all these replies>literally nobody notices player 3
>>96437516I think the red pawn is supposed to be white's "pawn positioning."
Another player in my group gives me major fetish vibes but he's also terminally online so I think he genuinely doesn't realise he's being a weirdo.
Poison the fucker with antifreeze.
Toxic players exist in every group. and if you dont have one your it.
>>96423328Blindness warning, the rook in the middle of the board is about to checkmate in one.
>>96436526OP claimed that the other guy was faking his illness without providing any evidence or even any particular reason for thinking that. He also didn't actually offer any examples whatsoever of the other guy asking for social favors in ways that make the group suck, neither in the OP nor later when directly asked for some such examples.
I thought there was going to be a story?
>>96444328No one told one but OP and this guy >>96437973
>>96444341OP didn't tell one, either. He pretty much just said that "there's this toxic guy in my group, no I won't give any more details, however he claims he has terminal illness but I don't like him so I bet he lies": The fact that OP didn't start with a story of his own and decided not to tell one even when specifically asked for more didn't make for a very good start for the thread, and it's no wonder that other anons haven't felt like sharing stories of their own.
>>96444356You sound like the guy who OP is talking about. Guilty conscience.
>>96444383Guilty conscience about what, exactly?
>>96444387
>>96444397Are you, perchance, OP? It'd be pretty weird for anyone else to feel the need to defend OP's right to leave literally all the relevant details out of his story so.
>>96414345>guy trying to help his friend enjoy his final days>dumbfuck who doesn't enjoy his company continues to play with him and wish he was dead online to strangers instead of just finding another groupyour deserve no friends or love in your life, you suffer the consequences of your own misery and retardation
>>96429749I tap two of my Plains to cast the instant-speed Disenchant, targeting your equipment artifact.
>>96414345Maybe I’m the toxic one. Multiple times when a player pissed me off I pretended the game ended then just restarted it. Or when one player annoyed me I just had all enemies and NPCs completely ignore his existence and give him the silent treatment. He only showed up to half the sessions anyways.
>>96444810>Multiple times when a player pissed me off I pretended the game ended then just restarted it. Acceptable tactic.>Or when one player annoyed me I just had all enemies and NPCs completely ignore his existence and give him the silent treatment.Insufferable autism.
>>96414345I played a DnD game in a custom setting that the DM designed with all of the players collaboratively over the weeks before the game started. It was very engaging and excellent for me and seemingly for the others for the first few months, but then we were forced through a portal to a different setting. This wash was strange but I trusted there was a purpose since this DM was very purposeful in his story writing so I didn't question it and just played along. After the second week the other players recognized an npc and realized that this setting was the DMs previous setting. Every player except for me had played his game the previous year, so they were happy to see what had become of it some decades of in game time later, but all of the references were meaningless to me, having only been told snippets of the lore of that game. We never made it back to the original setting and instead played a sequel to their previous game. Meanwhile there was an in game timer and coming magical apocalypse in our main setting that our party was pledged to stop. we finished the school year with no progress back to our original location and only more enmeshed in the local politics of the secondary location, so after summer break when they started up again I declined to continue. This was rated as a deep betrayal by the group, claiming that the story couldn't continue without my character, who was not at all relevant to the secondary location story. As a result I lost my main university friend group.
>>96450710did you bring up your concerns before leaving the group?
>>96414345If the revolver is loaded than Black wins, since political power flows from the barrel of a gun. If it is not loaded, than Black is disqualified for violating the rules and giving himself extra pieces.
>>96450737No, I assumed that the game would be for that school year, since that was the pattern the DM had established in the past. At the time I thought it was better to go along with it since they all seemed to be having a great time and I didn't want to derail things or ruin their fun and I assumed it was all for a good purpose. Looking back it might have been better for me to complain, but I also didn't want to force them to do what I wanted, especially because I had the most input of all the players in the primary setting.Unrelated to that main issue there was already some tension in the group that I didn't totally understand. The DM had nerfed my class somewhat heavily and I had not complained about it, believing (wrongly) that I was on thin ice already. Looking back many years later I think the DM was struggling in his experiment of a new game style and that he was acting in good faith. The outcome is still bad and hopefully a warning to DMs about something to avoid.
>>96450710They sound like a bunch of faggots.
>>96450820well that situation sucks overall, but I'm really surprised you got booted from the friend group for it
>>96450820>NoI take it back, you're the faggot. Imagine having main character syndrome and simultaneously being a passive aggressive little bitch. No wonder they cut ties with your faggot ass.
>>96451017He is not the faggot, sorry.
>>96451268(You) are.
>>96450952>>96451017I know I didn't respond well to it since I didn't respond at all. I was very confused at the time and had no idea what would be a good action. When I think back I still don't know what I should have said or done. It was a difficult time further complicated by other issues in our group that are beyond the scope of this conversation. In many ways it was a great group that I look back on happily.I'm sure there were things I did that bothered them that I am still not aware of. They never told me to stop doing anything, and their anger at me was from stepping back from the group, so it seems they were happy with me on balance. My main regret is not spending more time with them outside them game in normal conversations.
>>96452558>their anger at me was from stepping back from the groupPeople like that, when it comes to RPGs, are the worst kind of asshole to deal with. They reject your agency because "MY story needs YOU and you're ruining MY PLANS by not participating."They should have had an NPC fill in if your character was so important, and then remained friends with you.
