>think I might get back into card games I used to love yugioh
>New decks are all really annoying or cringey but I dig voiceless voice hardcore
>Test it in master duel, yep its cool I will try it irl at a local shop
>Go to buy deck
>£100 for cardboard
Nah this is unreal. This deck is not even good. Its not meta its not anything but alright and really cool.

For 100 I can buy a warhammer start collecting and a cool hero model, get 30 hours of hobby time and then infinite play time

With this cardboard I do NOT get that value.

>muh cardboard... expensive!!!
$116 USD is a pretty standard amount for a Yugioh/MtG deck. As a matter of fact, that's actually lowballing it compared to a lot of others. It also isn't terribly difficult to make VoVo go even lower since Branded VoVo variants can go as low as $80 or $60. A lot of people also just play digitally for free, too.

And if you want to compare the price points to Warhammer as an argument against picking up the game, then just fucking stick with Warhammer. It isn't hard.

No one who plays a TCG actually trades, I swear lmao.

Honestly, if you think 100 is egregious, then it's best not to look at the meta deck prices.

You will literally get bored of that shit after one match.

a suggestion, if anyone here is in the same boat as this anon.
>buy these shitty diy proxies from aliexpress
>sleeve the cards and show up at your locals with them
>find guys that just play casual matches to play with, tell them about your proxy deck
>make friends with the guys at your yugioh locals
>start buying singles from your friends
>eventually someone is gonna show up with voiceless voice pieces/core and they'll sell you the cards for cheap
online posts of yugioh deck take advantage of the fact that you have no real alternative besides trading irl. i can guarantee you theres a guy in your city with a voiceless voice core sitting in his binder and hes wanted to sell it to someone since forever and you could probably haggle the price.
