>>96432251What the hell. Aren't Dark Eldar/Drukhari basically "eldar but chaos"? What's exactly making them different they would warrant being a new faction of their own?
>>96434781I guess chaos eldar would serve the gods rather than being constantly afraid of Slaneesh. But I have no idea how this would work, given that Slaneesh already has a claim to their sould. Sounds like a stupid concept to me.
>>96434781Dark Elder are 'eldar but as they used to be rather than the space mennonite shitlibs.'>>96434794Only a retard willingly serves Chaos, which explains why the only people who do it are humans, and the bigger loser humans, at that.
>>96434794The motivaton here would be that you get to tango with other ruinous powers to protect you from being eaten by Slaanesh, and maybe ascend to daemonhood? Sounds plausible but idk
>>96434781Dark Eldar have nothing to do with chaos.
>>96434794There are probably a few eldar champions of chaos that were important enough to the chaos gods to save from Slaanesh, and since then there might have been a few who have found a way to serve chaos that protects them from Slaanesh. But I imagine a lot of the OG chaos eldar who survived, and that's probably a tiny number, would be daemon princes by now.
>>96434781Chaos Eldar would be just a bunch of raving stark mad mutant monstrosities, like possessed marines but far worse, due to how much time has passed. Pic related is one of their known champions and if he's still alive and kicking, he should be no less than a million years old.
>>96435097According to Realms of Chaos, where the conversion first appeared, he "would have to be at least 10000 years old".
>>96432251What remains of Clan Sylthach should be some eldar forced into Nurgle worship by desperate and terrible circumstances, that also transformed them into hideous insectoid demon-mutants. Basically, WH40k: The Fly. So some known precedents already exist
>>96435169WD has them dated at one million years or older
Iirc there were mentions in 2nd(?) ed of rare instances of Eldar who gave their souls to Khorne in order to give the ultimate middle finger to Slaanesh. Very much a "cutting off your nose to spite your face" tier solution but any port in a warpstorm i guess.
>>96432251I assume there are some enclaves of chaos corrupted Eldar on croneworlds and such.
>>96432251None gives a shit about eldar
>>96436223>>96435241>>96434971The pic shows them with a Slaanesh symbol.Would it be possibke there were eldars that She who Thirsts didnt nomed? Like they went "a new god of pleasure? Fuck it we ball" and started accepti g/worshiped it when 99.999% of eldar just shat themself in fear/revulsion?Slaanesh wanted to be loved, the rejection of the eldar race turned it into skullfuckin sadist so maybe it has a soft spot for the very few eldars who accepted him/her/it?Mutated Slaanesh eldar when?
>>96434903The picture has the Slaanesh symbol, so presumably service to Slaanesh in hopes that that will get you out of soul consumption.
>>96432251>“Although most races in the galaxy have failed to reach the level of spiritual purity of Orks, some of the closest are the Crone World Eldar. And the reason for this is simple: purpose. Much of life is driven by a search for purpose, to find meaning in why we exist. For the Crone Eldar, this question is already answered. They exist to spread the will of their dark gods, whether by word or by sword, and all other needs are secondary. An individual Croneworlder may have their own wants and dreams, their own loves and losses, but ultimately it is this purpose that drive them forward even in their darkest times. Although I find myself abhoring their beliefs and goals, I admire them in their simplicity and purity of purpose.”-- Uthan the Perverse, controversial Craftworld Eldar philosopherThis is from the Ork 3rd edition codex. The 1d6chan wiki has a pretty cool idea of what they could look like https://1d6chan.miraheze.org/wiki/Setting:Nobledark_Imperium/Forces_of_Chaos
>>96434951I don't think that's what they're saying. Yeah Dark Eldar have nothing to do with chaos, but what would chaos Eldar be like that wouldn't be so similar to Dark Eldar they'd just muddle and confuse things without really adding enough to be justified.I could see chaos Eldar being a good idea as something that's encountered in like, one black library book, maybe a couple. But try and make them an actual faction or a major part of the lore and it doesn't work at all.
>>96437130>Chaotic Eldar are Aeldari who have fallen to Chaos. They are Mutants, monstrosities, newly chaos-tainted and the truly damned millennia-old survivors of the Fall: the Renegade Eldar Chaos Champions. To the rest of the Aeldari, Chaotic Eldar are kin no more, forever lost, intentionally forgotten and unacknowledged.>Most of the Chaotic Eldar now survive on the Crone Worlds in the Eye of Terror. Asuryani Rangers who venture into the Eye of Terror make dealings with the Chaotic Eldar for Spirit Stones, Shuriken Casters, and other artifacts of the Eldar Empire. Expeditions are made regularly to the Tyrakesh Archeomarket on Arach-Cyn; Inquisitor Bronislaw Czevak has also had dealings at the market. Others survive throughout the Galaxy as isolated bands of chaos-devoted Pirates.>There are unknowable varieties of Chaotic Eldar Mutants, but one stable ab-strain are the Shriekers of Belial IV which have taken on bat-like features. Apothecary Arrian Zorzi described their genetic code as being degraded to the point of indecipherability. So their "active footprint" on the galaxy is at least as big as that of some of the Corsair groups, but at the same time their actual number might be similar to that of the Exodite worlds; and they are as just as isolated/localized when projecting power. Which is bigger than a lot of other Eldar sub-factions. I see potential tbqf
>>96432251I think GW is keeping these 'faction but chaos flavoured' as an ace up the sleeve to play when they need money and need it pronto.Until then I think the best you can do is convert your own chaos aesthetically modified factions and just play them without chaos powers. Or if you want to play them as a chaos faction, make sure to let your opponents play their own homebrew and/or legends vehicles. That's how I was able to convince an opponent to let me play my own homebrew infantry.
3rd edition Codex Daemonhunters mentioned Eldars psykers following Tzeentch as an examples of how to run Eldar with the Daemons (which had rudimentary rules in) that codex) to create narrative battles against the titular Daemonhunters. (Page 49)
>>96436952>This is from the Ork 3rd edition codex....This?
>>96438630now thats another quote, Uthan the Perverse has two quotes in that codex, thats the other one
>>96438662What page is the one about Croneworlds?
>>96438741Not sure don't have a 3rd edition ork codex to check, but Ulthan only appears in that one codex. If someone has a pdf of it ill sift through it and find it
Chaos Nids, Chaos Necrons, and Chaos Culexus Assassins when?
>>96436529That's the symbol of Tzeentch
>>96439340he referenced the symbol for the ++REDACTED++ eldar subfaction in the OP image you doofus
>>96432251Why would there be news? Mutated dregs living on Croneworlds have been a thing for decades, they're just a background element, not an army or plot element
>>96438857There is no second quote, it's a /tg/ fanfic for the nobledark imperium project.
>>96441203But all the other quotes are real quotes and not made up by them, weird they'd make just that one up
>>96434781she looks like she has seen some fucked up shit
>>96436504The Eldar on the Crone Worlds are pretty much that. While 99% of them died immediately during the Fall, 1% of billions is still a whole lot of people knocking about and pretty much all of those survivors were in prototype pleasure cults already. so it's not much of a stretch to think that many of them turned to worshipping the god they created.
>>96432251The chaos eldar that still exists do so as individuals, not as a faction or society. They're out there living their worst lives in the crone worlds.
>>96445746that's cool and all, but it ain't gonna make gee-dubs any money, so no
