I lied, sharing current progress of my 72 terminators. This is what's put together so far.Dark Angels Rules + Vanguard Spearhead to make 2+ saves hard to remove at range. if i want my minis to have more of a clean look should i use my shade paint after i initially prime it and then paint on the layers or paint the layers first and then do a more careful recess shade? probably a dumb question but im still figuring things out.

I like doing recess shades a little more than I like layering, but I'm starting to enjoy layering now that I'm getting a little bit more controlled. Before I found it easier to be neater with a thinned recess shade but these days I feel much more in control using my layering to cut back my shading. You can get a sharp look using either technique, it's a matter of what feels more intuitive to you
Question on the cultist thing; are LotR models considered ok for 40k stuff? Since GW makes them. I thought I heard something about it was banned for all gameplay or something.Because the Uruk-Hai warriors are even a tad shorter, and they hold weapons above their head to "still be seen and shot" so it's not rules abuse and they look short compared to marines.>not on minicompare somehow
