1. 40k 4th edition2. Battlefleet Gothic3. Kill team4. LotR Skirmish game circa 20075. WHFB 6th edition6. 40k 10th Edition7. Space Crusade8. Space HulkPlaying games with alternating activation or some other method of move order has generally soured the you-go-i-go system GW sticks with on the main games, whenever I play one of them I keep thinking about how much more interesting they would be if GW took the jump and made Initiative matter for more than melee.
This is the worst GW game I've ever played

>>96437773>EpicOK, I know you have strong opinions over which edition is the only true Epic, but which one is it?
>>96437663Flatness - 1/10Rapier - 3/10 (lost points for the wack blade)Issue of Ticked Off Trannies With Knives - 1/10Weird Kali Barbie - 4/10Bowl of matchbooks - 7/10All in all not a great rating

>>96437663Space Hulk.Never needed anything else after that.
>>96439067oppai is justice
Anybody ever play Chainsaw Warrior? That any good?
>>96437663Is that creature a gay man or a lesbian woman? I legitimately can not tell
>>96438017Looks like apoor mans twilight struggle
>>96437663>warhammer quest: silver tower 8/10>warcry 7/10>mordheim 5.9/10 (I played it with a group of dicks so I dunno if I’m judging this fairly)>warhammer fantasy battle 6e-8e (5/10) >spearhead 7/10 >kill team 3/10I’d really like to play something like man o war or LI but with actual variety. Also gw really needs to up their skirmish game.
-Warhammer Ancient Battles 9/10-Kampfgruppe Normandy 8/10-Warmaster Ancients 6.5/10-Rogue Trader 9/10-40K 2ed 7/10-40K 3rd to 5th 8.5/10-Battlefleet Gothic 7/10-MESBG 7/10I haven't played any of the new games, but TOW, Necromunda and 30K look cool.
>>96437663Blood bowlWarcryAoS 2-340k modernFantasy 8thAoS 4Objectively correct
>>96439167>GorkamorkaIt's... okay. But you need to be an Ork fan and play as one (i.e. don't take it too serious and don't mind losses, defeats or bad rules).>HeroQuestWas fun back then with beer and friends. Guess I would have preferred Advanced HeroQuest, but never got and played it.>>96439195>Space HulkGood game, especially with 1st edition support. Psychic rules from the Genestealer expansion were bad though.>>96437663>40kPlayed only the first five editions. Can't rank them - sometimes more, sometimes less fun in each.>NecromundaI just like it. Needs a good group and/or a GM though, especially Newcromunda.>HHSee 40k. Have to play 3rd edition yet, wasn't really fond of 2nd.>Wargame Series (Armageddon, Doom of the Eldar etc.)Good for a visit or trip/holiday. Players need to be 40k nerds - there're just counters and a story.
>>96438846That's my bad. I've only played NetEpic, so whatever ruleset they use as their base.
>>96439067If spending time on /s/ has taught me anything, it's that anything smaller than a G cup is considered flat these days.
>>96451738That's Armageddon which was less of an edition and more Jervis releasing into the wild when it became clear that GW didn't care about it
>>96437663>40k3rd edition: 9/104th edition: 8/10 (only due to the army books sucking compared to 3rd)5th edition: 7/106th and 7th edition: 5/108th-10th: 0/10horus heresy 1st and 2nd: 8/10horus heresy 3rd: 5/10kill team (original 2000s): 8/10kill team 1st edition: 7/10nu-kill team: 4/10necromunda 95: 8.5/10necromunda 17: 8/10>fantasy6th: 9/108th: 7/10old world: 8/10age of sigmar (all editions): 5/10mordheim: 9/10warcry: 7/10>mesbg1st edition: 9/102nd edition: 8/103rd edition: 7/10
>>96437663All good, but ranked in this order for how much I enjoyed them:>Mordheim>WFB 6th/7th (6th books with 7th core rules)>40k 3rd/4th (3rd codices with 4th core rules, plus 4th codices that didn't exist before)>Battlefleet Gothic>Inquisitor>WarmasterAnything newer is generally dogshit. 40k5th with Apocalypse was decent but the beginning of the end.>>96438011Not bad taste.
>>96437663>40k 2nd Good>40k 3rd or laterShit>WHFB 5thGood>WHFB 6th and laterShitOriginal Hetero Quest was cool looking but boring, Spaz Crusade was the better game.
>>96453023>this fucking guy who thinks the goofy pre-Chambers/Cavatore era was better.Holy fuck stay in your containment thread.
>>96437663Good:Necromunda (needs a ton of terrain tho)Kill TeamBattlefleet Gothic40k 3rd/4th editionMidWarcryOld WorldUnderworldsBad40k 8th/9th/10thMordheim (fight me, its just not a fun game mechanically, and Necromunda as well as Warcry are leagues ahead)
>>96453177>let's ruin your fun chaotic cascade of random tables by turning it into a wargameYOU FUCKED UP
>>96451862Ah, that makes sense.>>96453704>Mordheim (fight me, its just not a fun game mechanicallyMordhiem does the narrative aspect with the warbands and campaign really well, but the core rules are hot fucking garbage. Who looks at WHFB and goes "that'll translate to a skirmish game with no troubles." I go you go, a clunky and restrictive phase system and shitty, unnecessary, tables galore makes for a real poor core of a skirmish game.It can be fun with the right group, but there are better fantasy skirmish games out there now.
