Has anybody printed Anvil Industry's Digital Forge (stls) before?
How are their pre-supports?
>>
>>96438453
Yes, but it was a couple years ago.
Their supports worked fine.

Would it be feasible to hide a small resin printer from roomates? Like keeping it in a grow tent inside some furniture.

I'm really happy about getting this Russ printed for a Friend's army. Been trying to find scans of the discontinued FW pauldrons for Blood Angels, but that's been a pain. All of what I find on cults either looks terrible or isn't the armor marks I want, and the only recasters I know who make this stuff are the types who take months to order.

It's not for any particular game, but it was initially a 32mm model I guess. You could paint it as a statue as terrain maybe? The stl is by Flesh of Gods iirc.
I rescaled and hollowed it and printed it. Gave it to a friend and he painted it so we could gift it to another friend of ours who wanted a nicely painted guy with sword but didn't want something too crazy or over the top.
I think my friend did a great paintjob.

>Would it be feasible to hide a small resin printer from roomates
I think it depends entirely on the resin you use. Some have almost no odour, some absolutely stink. IPA mixed with almost odourless resin smells even stronger than a regular resin imo.
Aside from that, if you're hiding it from them, there is always a chance they'll discover it, at which point if they have no idea what it is because you haven't told them, they could mishandle the resin, spill it and try to contain the spill with their bare hands, get it on their hands and wipe it in their eyes, all kinds of life changing shit. Not a moral thing to do imo.
>>
>>96439650
Damn anon how many STLs have you been hoarding?
>>
>>96439347
Resin printers are very messy. You might be able to hide a small one like an Elegoo Mars 2 or a similarly sized one, but they will smell and also you will spill resin everywhere. It's inevitable. It's not a clean process, it's really messy.
>>
>>96442263
>you will spill resin everywhere. It's inevitable.
No, it isn't. You have a skill issue.
>t. 5 years no spills.
>>96439347
You could run one in a rubbermaid tote, but it'll make noise like a gaming pc.

Biggest print I have done so far...not done printing it all yet. Still need to do the rider. Happy with it so far. All told, it is 25 pieces I think. The bike went together really well...little issues with the base parts not fitting snug against each other. Not sure if that's a fault of the printer or the STLs...Yes I will paint it...as soon as it's all printed up.

Printed on an Anycubic Photon Mono 4 Ultra and took about 750ml of resin to do that much.

I've been looking into getting into 3d printing for a long while now, and I've got some experience with slicers from having other people print for me. I think I need to just break down and get one, and I'm looking at getting a Bambu A1 for FDM printing. I don't have any sort of set up that would allow for a resin printer, and I need to keep my budget under $500. Is that a good place to start?
>>
>>96444482
Yes, it's an excellent starting machine and pretty much plug and play.
>>
>>96444482
I have a couple of friends who have A1s and they are excellent starter FDM printers.

He's a beginner. There will be drops of resin and/or alcohol. It's not a hobby you can really hide desu.

>>96443126
Thank you. I'm using an Elegoo Saturn 3 Ultra as my main printer and a small Elegoo Mars 2 Pro as my side printer, for smaller bits or shorter prints. I also have an A1 Mini for terrain or basic bases.
As for the resin, I mostly use Anycubic Basic Grey. It's cheap but pretty brittle. Not great for minis but for these bigger prints or busts it's absolutely fine. I used to use Anycubic High Speed, it's fast but not really worth the price difference.

Why not just take the interior set from forge world that everyone says they have access and says is on theses telegram groups?

The rarest kit even recasters rarely sell it and it's usually recast of recast.

Good stats

is it me or does the thumbnail look jizzed
>>
>>96444482
If you're gonna print anything other than terrain and vehicles, learn how to presupport with resin supports. 0.2mm contacts, 2mm pillars. Tree supports leave terrible scarring that is in most cases unfixable.
