You shouldn't be running a game unless you have dilf democracies in it.

wtf is "dilf democracies"
>>
Why would I want any kind of governmental structure in my game about exploring dungeons and wilderness, while fighting monsters, undead, and dinosaur-dragons?

Dads OP likes to fuck that form themselves into bicameral legislative bodies politic

Could make sense as an extension of Ancient Greece style of democracy. Restricting right of vote to
>free men (slaves are not people and women can't be trusted with decision making)
>only those in good physical shape (because feeble body is house of feeble mind)
>only those that have children, or specifically sons (they have personal interest in long term well-being of community and won't take unnecessary risks for vain glory or short term profit)
basically council of chill dads, with ocassional smug teen that was particularly early bloomer

Yes. 'Extremely low quality' is the correct category, btw.

Crazy, I just got finished reading that "/tg/ is shit because of excessive content farming and clickbaitpost threads" thread.

It's not whatever the fuck the OP said, but I've been working on a micro-setting of a pre-industrial sorta-democratic 'kingdom' that elects their rulers.
The rulers then get 'bound' to the land, so that when they die, the Ghost King haunts the dreams of all true-blooded citizens of the land on the anniversary of the Ghost King's death.
Over the several hundred years of the system, this means a relatively coherent and concrete national identity formed around the shared experiences of the kingdom's dreams - philosophical oratory and traumatic violence being even more effective on the sleeping mind, or whatever.
An obvious problem arises if an ill-liked king looks like they might die on the anniversary of a well-loved prior king's death - is there ongoing conflict, or does the new subsume the old, or teh old rebuff the new?
In practice =, leeches and humours to try and prevent that happening.

the initial 'mission' to introduce players to the kingdom is to arrange a kingly death on the same date as a death-anniversary - the current king is virulently expansionist, and the Chancellor doesn't think the next decade's projected harvests and taxes could support such campaigns, and would rather not be fighting off such propositions for the rest of his career, so he want's the current king to die ont eh same date as a previous, strong-willed and well-respected, ghost king.

Sometimes the knighting gets done with flat side of the blade.
Sometimes with full length of the hilt.

>trauma-bonding on national scale as integral part of cultural identity
Neat. People on Congo would give you high five. If they could.
>>
>>96473959
The village copper can give you a high thirty five.
He'd prefer not to, and only does so because his boss' boss published the original punishment mandate, but he is legally obliged to.
Accordingly, he'd be a great person to talk to regarding opportunities for carefully-timed regicides.

The impulse to make it some kind of hive-mind issue was discarded early on, even though it would save a lot of work on characterising NPCs.

I just think there's something fascinating about actively managing the whole country's mood/outlook like that, and then working backwards to find silly world-building culture quirks.
Is it advantageous or desirable to have an articulate king?
Or does brute charisma subliminally steer a kingdom better?
