What exactly is wrong with them? We're living in one!

Never thought about that, but you're kinda right.

Palladium RIFTS is a great Kitchen sink settings.
What do you enjoy most about the ones you living in?
>>

Inequal tech and infrastructure in the modern world is caused by financial, moral, and administrative failure. Not the whims of a shitty writer.
>>
IRL isn't a kitchen sink setting, it's just modern slice of life

Because settings are fiction, and fiction is tailored to a creator's preference.

>We're supposed to believe that all this time this one island has been untouched by every civilization. What is this Indiana jones?

No, extremely efficient financial and administrative systems can still leave massive disparities in technology and infrastructure because these are things accrued rather than remotely feasible to slam down on the spot. It's why it crops up in Japanese media a bunch, the spectacular success of their industrialization DIRECTLY led to a much more dramatic urban-rural divide than the West's own developmental period because you have to go a LONG way in for taking development to the countryside to make more sense than bringing country folk to the developed urban centers.

My preference is whatever random bullshit I find amusing tho

Cassowaries are fine as long as people don't feed them. Then they get angry and want everyone to keep feeding them or they get aggressive.
>>
>>96513499
When 3 of 4 attacks against humans involve food that means 1 out of every 4 attack does not. Moreover, they have a far longer history of attacks than is found in the white fella's books.

Traditional games?

You realize that they arent obligate herbivores right? A hungry deer will steal and eat bird chicks from their nests, and those are just deer. A cassowary is the heaviest bird on the planet with knives for feet and an axe for a face. They eat roadkill all the time and if they decide you should also become roadkill theres nothing you can fucking do about it

You are a stupid person.

The problem with them is that they're often badly integrated, the "inspirations" are poorly understood, and the breadth comes at the cost of depth.

>a person who understands that this world is a shitty place is stupid
No.
