They just sell their souls to the Hells for more power. I was wondering if there was a better deal.Though on the good side it's not that much better. I think there's only the gnomish/halfling afterlife where you can profit from an eternal reward, rest and happiness... but you're also shunned if you don't decide to wageslave your afterlife away.

If you follow Nobanion you get sent to a plane that turns you into a furry or an animal, and then you eventually just magically become part of the plane itself. A lot of the other good gods have the same procedure, without the furry part. The only god I know of that doesn't have that part is Tempus, who's Neutral, and, well, his afterlife for his followers is Turbo-Valhalla. You spend the entire afterlife fighting and killing and being resurrected. Sometimes multiple times per day. And you have to occasionally put up with Bane showing up because Tempus stole his bitch and Bane wants his bitch back, and Tempus just lets Garagos 'tard his way around the plane too and Red Knight can't wrangle him 100% of the time (seriously Tempus made her a god just to fucking wrangle Garagos, don't believe any other reasons).

Gods have shit to do, agendas related to their portfolio to advance, worshippers to cultivate, prayers to answer, natural phenomena to regulate (do you think the sun just comes up every day on its own? SPOILER ALERT: it fucking doesn't and if Faerun were to go full euphoric everyone would fucking die because the gods wouldn't have the juice to make the world function. >>96518263Bane. He's a rational Lawful Evil who likes violence, blackmail, and empire-building but doesn't demand his followers overthrow governments or lead from the front. It makes his temples the acceptable lesser-evil in the eyes of secular governments and the masses on the frontier or during hard times. Paladins will still kill you on sight and the police in major peaceful cities will constantly be on your case, but the other 99% of people will give you a free pass as long as the human sacrifices stay behind closed doors.
