In a WM campaign they usually have mulitple DM/GMs, right? What do you do if the other DMs are being faggoty and start handing out things that break everyone's game in two like foldable ships or castles and shit?
or placing stupid things like a steampunk empire right next to the stone age green hill zone?

used sandbox generator to generate the pic. Very bland grassland filled with spicy places to explore is the theme today.

leave and get some different guys that like the same shit I do instead
also I wouldn't do west marches in general, shitty format to bother with when you can hold a regular group

Well I'm feeling a bit autistic after today's shooting so I rolled up a small hexcrawl.

Hex 00.00: Forest town of Longkanth. Medium size. Longkarth grew up as a refuge for a despised minority. Ruled by a lord’s reeve. A bright and shiny religion is making trouble with the old and a burly militiaman is likely to interact with the PCs. Of note there is a building that the PCs can potentially buy.
Hex 00.-1: Forest Dungeon. Ruin of the Slumbering Storm.
Hex 00.01: Forest Dungeon. Mines of the Revenant Flame.
Hex 01.00: Forest. Abandoned Tavern. Hazard. Treasure.
Hex 01.01 Hill. Bandit Lair.
Hex -1.01 Hill Dungeon Temple of the Shrouded Queen.
Hex -1.00: Forest w/Felled Trees. Bears. Treasure.
Hex 00.-2: HIlls. Giant Snake Skeleton. 3 Manticores. No treasure.
Hex 01.-1: Hills. Special. Sinkhole. 3 Wyverns.Treasure.
Hex 02.-1: Forest. Giant Spider Lair.
Hex 02.00: Grassland. Bridge. Treasure.
Hex 02.01: Hills. Overgrown brambles.
Hex -2.-1: Forest village of Idarview. Small size. Idarview grew up as a safe place to ford a nearby river. Merchants set up a town here. Ruled by a patriarch. Local bullies are causing problems by scaring away potential buyers from the establishment. They’re bored and might be hired on as mercenaries if the PCs pay well.
Hex -2.00: Hill tower.
Hex -2.01: Hill w/Scree. Treasure.

You do like every single organized play league for ttrpgs has done since the 80s: agree to rules beforehand regarding how much experience and what level items will be coming out.

I wonder if tactiquest holds up with 9 or 12 player characters. I am thinking of having 4 players control 3 or 4 characters at once, like old school FF games - and inspiring the game off of tactics ogre and FFT

I've always wanted to run or play a knockoff Tactics Ogre campaign.

GURPS has rules for this.

my 125 pointer anemic merchant with all the IQ skills and his two 62-pointer bodyguards that dumped everything but asskicking ability and unflinching loyalty
