Truly being an Imperial player is suffering. One Black Dwarf issue published a rule that let one particularly Space Marine list be viable in one tournament and people freaked out so hard that they changed it all up in the newest edition. Now it's back to getting stomped.

Looking forward to play my first game of Dragons and Dungeons, this weekend. Just finished reading the basic rules today.

Let's be real, the path they were going down was virtually set in stone when WG had a mere cultist be the one to kill the God-Queen after Isis got crippled. Even if they kept the Astronomicon on by capturing the latter and using her soul as a battery alongside the Psykers, it was still a cultist at first.

I played a game of 40k with my grandad today. He dug out the Squat army he collected in the 80s and fought my Primaris with them. I love how the game is still using the same ruleset from 40 odd years ago. allowing older players to match up their collections with the collections of newer players, and that the newer armies are perfectly balanced and compatible with the originals after all this time!

What a nightmare it would be if WG had released a new incompatible edition evey couple of years just to encourage short term sales (like Chess does), it would have fragmented the player base into tiny competing fragments,or put off older loyal players forever, instead of bringing us all together in a single community.
