Why did GW abandon the greatest wargame ruleset they ever published?
>>
Because it didn't sell enough for them and Tom Kirby after the Great Financial Crisis was hellbent on getting rid of every GW product that wasn't 40k space marines.
>>
>>96522014
Because they're evil
>>
>>96522014
So it could survive and thrive far away from their attention.
>>
>>96522014
Hey I own this book.
>>
>>96522014
You didn't buy enough models
>>
Legions Imperialis being 8mm is a con trick btw
>>
>>96522271
the correct response to LI is to kick whoever decided it wouldn't be scaled the same as epic in the nuts
>>
>>96522459
>they deliberately scaled it at 8mm to fuck over the 7 people who still have epic armmageddon armies so they have to buy their armies again
Come on now lol
>>
>>96522014
Because as Ansell told everyone they're a miniatures company not a games company.
>>
>>96522014
thanks for the yearly reminder to listen to the Epic 40k Final Liberation soundtrack, anon.
>>
>>96523025
>Ansell
the fuck are you talking about
Byran at the start of epic 2nd ed.
the dude is also responsible for GW branching into publishing, (black library, music, video games)

>>96522964
it's more the fucking cost of it for me,
Troublemaker/vanguard already produces in 8mm, the issue is Ligma has way too much detail on the vehicles.
building their tanks is a fucking chore.
i am happy that it came out insofar as i could get new STLs for marines.
>>
>>96525133
true
>>
>>96522271
>>96522459
Epic wasn't q consistent scale anyway
>>
>>96522459
8mm infantry looks much much better.
>>
>>96527009
The infantry look a little better, but holy hell the vehicles are overdetailed to the point that they have too many parts for such tiny models.

Nevermind that EA has more armies than legions imperialis and most importantly BETTER RULES
>>
>>96527263
The vehicles are excellent and impresive for the scale. No complaints in that regard.
>>
>>96527263
Pro tip, find proxies for 40k factions, use the 2nd edition epic army lists and ignore the cringe inducing gayus heressy era.
>>
>>96522459
Epic was incredibly scale inconsistent and the older models look like trash.
Shit on LI all you want (the game is trash) but the models are pretty good. However, the correct answer for this scale is just to 3d print
>>
>>96527723
>incredibly scale inconsistent

Wow it's almost like it was a deliberate choice (except fuckups like the dreadnought-sized Bloodletters)
>>
>>96527698
There is 'impressive' and there is 'individually attach each exhaust on a rhino and kratos.'
It's retarded. Just mold it into the side of the model.
The best models at this scale GW currently makes are the Warlord and the Thunderhawk. Lots of parts but none are so small as to make it a hassle. The seperate exhaust thing is just retarded, and you can tell they fucking agree because later models (like literally probably the next vehicles they designed) like the Spartan, just have a fixed single piece for the exhaust
>>
>>96527740
Yeah, a deliberate choice to not care and just be like 'lol make this today.' They were not making some bold stylistic point by being extremely inconsistent it was laziness.
>>
>>96527698
this is perfectly acceptable. No one plays epic for detailed vehicle and infantry
>>
>>96522014
Because unlike WHFB the videogame version of it failed to sell and nobody talked about it in popular media.
>>
>>96527836
They should just use chits for infantry formations.

Perhaps consider killing yourself?

Why did GW abandon the Lucius pattern models?
>>
>>96528442
Repeat after me:

Because Games Workshop is run by FAGGOTS
>>
>>96528293
perhaps GW will consider killing your game?
oh they did, whoops!
>>
>>96528442
Because they look like trash.

>>96528495
Nta but GW can never really kill a game. For as long as there are players for it, it will survive, and Epic has a very dedicated playerbase.
Hell, GW not supporting it might be a blessing in disguise considering how utterly raped 40K is.
>>
>>96525133
>the issue is Ligma has way too much detail on the vehicles.
building their tanks is a fucking chore.
Every time I look at rhe sprues for the tanks I find myself going "who the fuck thought this was a good idea on 8mm scale models?" Why do they need to be so many fucking parts?
