Did your character grow up with a father figure in their life?
>>
>>96525880
Yes. Shared with 2 of the other party members.
The campaign started when he was toppled from the regency council and thrown into a dungeon by the king for treason.
>>
he left when he was 13
>>
>>96525880
Did you?
>>
>>96525880
No. They were adopted (abducted) and raised in an institution (a government office)
>>
>>96525880
yes, two actually

Out of the 9 characters that i can recall well enough that had some long term play:
>2 Yes, they had their father
>2 Yes, but it wasn’t their father
>2 No
>3 it never really came up, so like probably yes but it wasn’t relevant
>>
Yes. The impetus for his final adventure before he died was to attend his father's funeral in their home country.

can you retards seriously not use the dedicated board? kudos for making it stealthy but it's fucking obnoxious.
>>
>>96525880
They didn't grow up to be a criminal/whore, so yes, he did.
>>
>>96527314
You didn't choose the Criminal background anon?
>>
>>96525880
I dunno.
Such a thing has no relevance to my games, so I never thought about it.

My character's dad left when he was very young so he's always wanted to be a good dad someday to prove he's better than his father.
>>
My character was based on what I imagined my son being like if I had children. I wasn’t present.
>>
>>96525880
He grew up mostly with his brothers and mother, his father was an adventurer who spent a lot of time outside but from time to time he returned to tell his stories and train his children how to fight
>>
>>96525880
Sort of, Dad went out to Get Milk and never came back about the same time as The Sun Went Out. Recent events have suggested to me he's fighting aliens.
>>
>>96525880
Current char? Yes, he comes from a lineage of arcane practitioners.
Previous character was a literal puppet animated through magic, so no.
Previous character before puppet didn't get to know his father; papa was an orc raider and died when he was barely a toddler.
He was a very brave orc, tho, considering he knocked up a stone giantess.
>>
>>96525880
My current character has gone to his father for advice on two separate occasions.

Yes

Yeah, and they had a good, if strict, relationship. My character is the eldest in the party and passes on some of the wisdom he inherited from his father at times to the younger folk who respond with mixed levels of interest.
He was raised well enough, came of age, became a member of the clergy, took some time to care for his aging father, and was there for his end and oversaw his funeral service.

Bout half of them have some kinda paternal parentage. The rest are some flavor of orphan with various relationships related to a teacher/student situation or a power structure, being the ward of some keeper or the experiment/creation of someone that developed a paternal relationship with their creator/researcher. I think only one or two don't have any father figure in their life.
pic unrelated

Most of them did, though not all.
One was a magical abomination that escaped (wizard + monster + accident = them)...not much in the way of parental figures, though perhaps some of the wizard rubbed off on them?
One is a street rat orphan type, who has a chance now and loved ones to care about; they're struggling a bit with it, but it'll likely work out.
Some of the others had father figures, but they were lackluster or effectively supplanted. The manipulative tycoon-type girl with the older sister was even more that, would have only left so much room for her actual father to be a father figure, but she still did grow up in a household with one.
Others presumably had them, but it never came up.
Others definitely had them, and some were referenced in game or discussed with the GM on character ideas/backgrounds/etc... very few if any got any real screen time in any of the campaigns directly.
