At what point does being more involved with RP become Main Character Syndrome?
>>
Roleplaying games are not as streamlined and rigid as say vidya. There will be people who want to poleplay and won't care about mechanics or game loop that much. There will be people who will play like it's a wargame and almost ignore rp. The trick is to find a group that suits your playstyle.

Those things aren't related.

It’s more of an attitude issue than an investment issue. Plenty of That Guys who act like they’re the “main character” will mentally check out when anything that’s not directly affecting their character is happening, or act insufferable to get the focus back on them asap. And very rarely, you’ll find one that acts like they’re the king of the world but actually pay attention and try to keep the other players happy and invested insofar as it relates to their enjoyment as a whole. The problem isn’t wanting to feel important, it’s when they’re dragging the experience down for everyone else by acting like a selfish dick that’s the problem.

When you stop and take 5 seconds to look up what "Main Character Syndrome" actually means before making threads.
